Use only sodium chloride (NaCl) salt that is greater than 99% pure. This is common food quality or water softener salt and is usually available at building supply stores in 40-80 lb. bags labeled coarse or fine “Solar Salt”.

You should check the salt level in your pool at least once a month, or more often if you are adding a lot of fresh water to the pool.

The operating salt level is between 2700-3400 PPM (parts per million) with 3200 PPM being optimal.

If the salt level in your pool is too high, you can dilute it by adding fresh water to the pool.

If the salt level in your pool is too low, you will need to add more salt.
