Quick Installation Guide

Section 1

Hard Drive Installation

Step 1 Use the provided screwdriver to remove the two top screws on the left side of the enclosure.

Step 2 Remove the two bottom screws from the right side of the enclosure.

Step 3 Hold the front and back of the enclosure and pull the two ends away from each other. The two halves of the enclosure should slide apart exposing the connectors.

Step 4 Make sure the hard drive you are installing is set to "Master" (refer to the jumper setting information printed on your hard drive).

Step 5 Attach the connectors to your hard drive.

For IDE hard drives, attach the IDE connectors as shown below:

For SATA hard drives, attach the SATA connectors as shown below:

Note: Connect both the IDE and SATA power connectors will damage your hard drive.

Step 6 Fasten the hard drive to the bottom of the enclosure with the provided screws.

Step 7 Line up the two halves of the case.

Step 8 Push the two ends together. The enclosure should slide shut.

Step 9 Replace the four screws that were removed in steps 1 and 2 .

Step 10 Connect one end of the power cord to the back of the enclosure and connect the other end to a power outlet. Then connect one end of the USB cable to the enclosure and the other end to your computer. Turn the power switch to the ON position. The new drive is ready to use and you can find it under “My Computer”.

Congratulations! The hard drive installation is complete.
