Eine gute Orientierung für eine optimale Aufstellung Ihrer neuen Lautsprecher ist das sogenannte „Stereo-
Dreieck“ (Abb.1). Dies ergibt sich, wenn die Lautsprecher und Ihr gewohnter Hörplatz die Eckpunkte eines gleichseitigen Dreiecks bilden.
Verwenden Sie Canton Kompakt-Lautsprecher so achten Sie bitte auf die richtige Aufstellungshöhe. Optimal ist die Aufstellung in Ohrhöhe. Dies erreichen Sie durch eine dementsprechende Platzierung im Regal. Oder bei einer freien Aufstellung im Raum durch die Verwendung der passenden Lautsprecherständer aus der LS-Serie.
Zur Entkopplung liegen den meisten Canton Lautsprechern selbstklebende Shockabsorber bei. Diese können, nach Entfernen der Schutzfolie, unter die Lautsprecher geklebt werden.
Ist Ihr Canton Standlautsprecher mit Gewindebohrungen in der Bodenplatte versehen, können hier die dann mitgelieferten Spikes befestigt werden.
Einige Canton Mini- und Kompakt-Lautsprecher bieten die Möglichkeit der direkten Wandmontage. Hierfür verwenden Sie bitte die (teilweise im Lieferumfang enthalten) entsprechende Cantomount Wandhalterung. (s.
Wandmontage)
LS-Lautsprecherständer und Cantomount-Wandhalterungen sind als original Canton Zubehör im Fachhandel erhältlich.

Prinzipiell kann jeder Canton Lautsprecher in eine Surround Anlage integriert werden. Durch die tonale Ausgewogenheit der Produkte ist hier auch eine Kombination von Lautsprechern aus verschiedenen Canton Serien möglich.
Entsprechend ihrer Anwendung wird zwischen vier Lautsprechertypen in einer Surround-Anlage unterschieden
(Abb. 2).
Center-Lautsprecher: Er wird in unmittelbarer Nähe des Fernsehbildes (ober- oder unterhalb) aufgestellt.
Alle Canton Center-Lautsprecher sind magnetisch abgeschirmt. Eine Beeinflussung des Fernsehbildes ist dadurch ausgeschlossen.
Front-Lautsprecher: Sie bilden die klangliche Basis und stehen links und rechts vom Bild (Fernseher) mit einem Mindestabstand von 60 cm zum Bildrand.
Er überträgt den Tiefbass und kann nahezu beliebig im Raum positioniert werden.
Aktivsubwoofer:
Surround-Lautsprecher: Sie übertragen die Informationen der Effektkanäle und sollten links und rechts neben oder hinter dem Zuhörer leicht oberhalb der Sitzposition angebracht werden.

Für die meisten Canton Minilautsprecher erhalten Sie einen passenden Halter für die Montage an der Wand. Dieser ermöglicht es Ihnen Ihre Lautsprecher in optimaler Höhe zu platzieren. Zwei Beispiele sehen Sie in Abb. 3.
Nicht immer gehört dieser Wandhalter zum Lieferumfang Ihrer Lautsprecher (s. Inhalt auf Kartonaufkleber). Sie erhalten ihn dann als “Cantomount” Wandhalter im Fachhandel.

Eine Alternative zur Wandmontage bieten, bei der Aufstellung von Lautsprechern, die Canton Lautsprecherständer aus dem LS-Programm. Sowohl für Front-, Center- als auch Surroundlautsprecher sind die passenden
Lautsprecherständer erhältlich. Sie sind optimal auf den jeweiligen Lautsprecher abgestimmt und garantieren eine optimale Positionierung in Ohrhöhe des Zuhörers.
C E N T E R A U F S T E L L U N G
Ein Center Lautsprecher wird im Idealfall auf oder unter dem Fernseher positioniert. Für die Optimierung des Abstrahlwinkels sind einige Canton Mini Center mit einem zusätzlichen Stabilisator versehen. Dieser wird wie in
Abb. 4 gezeigt an der Rückseite des Center Gehäuses montiert. Durch drehen kann nun die Höhe des Stabilisators und somit der Abstrahlwinkel des Centers verändert und an den Aufstellungsort angepasst werden.

Wichtig! Bevor Sie die Lautsprecher an Ihren Verstärker anschließen, schalten Sie diesen bitte aus.
Auf der Rückseite Ihrer Canton-Lautsprecher finden Sie eines der Anschlussterminals aus Abb. 5. Über dieses
Terminal wird Ihr Canton-Lautsprecher mit dem Verstärker verbunden. Dazu entfernen Sie, falls vorhanden, die isolierenden Schutzkappen von den Schraubklemmen.
Achten Sie beim Anschluß der Lautsprecher unbedingt auf die richtige Polung. Pluspol an Pluspol und Minus an
Minus. Sowohl die Schraubklemmen der Lautsprecher (Pluspol = rot, Minuspol = schwarz) als auch die Anschlüsse des Steuergerätes sind mit entsprechenden Symbolen bzw. Farben gekennzeichnet. Zur einfacheren
Orientierung unterscheiden sich auch die Adern der meisten Lautsprecherkabel durch Farbe, Form oder Aufdruck. Unterschiedliche Polung zwischen dem linken und dem rechten, oder dem Front und Surround Kanal führen zu Klangverfälschungen.
Zum besseren Verständnis ziehen Sie bitte auch die Bedienungsanleitung Ihres Steuergerätes und des eventuell verwendeten Subwoofers zurate.

Die meisten unserer Lautsprecher bieten die Möglichkeit, den Hoch-/Mitteltonbereich und den Bassbereich getrennt über zwei Verstärker (Bi-Amping) oder zumindest über zwei getrennte Anschlusskabel (Bi-Wiring) zu betreiben. Hierfür sind diese Lautsprecher mit einem Doppelterminal ausgestattet. Das obere Anschlussbuchsenpaar ist für den Hoch-/Mitteltonbereich, das untere für den Tieftonbereich. Diese zwei Anschlusspaare sind für den Normalbetrieb (mit einer einzigen Zuleitung) werksseitig mit Kabelbrücken verbunden. Für den Bi-Wiring/Bi-Amping Betrieb sind die Kabelbrücken zu entfernen. Dazu lösen Sie die Schrauben und ziehen die Kabelbrücken seitlich unter den Schrauben weg. Abb. 6 beschreibt das Verkabelungsschema für die zwei Varianten.

Canton-Lautsprecher sind für den Betrieb an Verstärkern mit großer Ausgangsleistung geeignet, selbst wenn diese höher ist als die in den technischen Daten des Canton-Lautsprechers angegebene Belastbarkeit. Tatsächlich geht eine Gefahr für den Lautsprecher eher von leistungsschwachen Verstärken aus, da sie bei dem Versuch, durch Aufdrehen von Lautstärke- und Klangreglern mehr Schalldruck zu erzeugen, übersteuert werden und durch sogenanntes „Clipping“ Verzerrungen erzeugen, die insbesondere die Hochtöner der Boxen zerstören können. Bitte achten Sie deshalb bei der Lautstärkeeinstellung auf Verzerrungen – und drehen Sie gegebenenfalls direkt leiser.
A L L G E M E I N E P F L E G E H I N W E I S E
Um möglichst lange Freude an Ihren Canton Lautsprechern zu haben beachten Sie bitte folgendes: Setzen Sie das
Gehäuse der Lautsprecher nicht direktem Sonnenlicht aus. Vermeiden Sie extreme Temperaturunterschiede und schützen Sie Ihre Lautsprecher vor Feuchtigkeit. Reinigen Sie die Gehäuseoberfläche nicht mit alkoholhaltigen oder scheuernden Mitteln. Verwenden Sie hierfür ein möglichst nicht fusselndes Tuch.
Garantiebedingungen
Über die gesetzlich vorgeschriebene Gewährleistung hinaus übernimmt Canton für alle passiven Lautsprecher eine Garantie von fünf Jahren. Die Garantiezeit beginnt mit dem Kauf des Lautsprechers und gilt nur für den Erstkäufer. Ausgeschlossen sind Transportschäden und Schäden, die durch unsachgemäßen Gebrauch verursacht wurden. Der Garantieanspruch verlängert sich nicht durch den Austausch von Bauteilen innerhalb der Garantiezeit.

The "stereo triangle" is a good rule of guidance for optimum positioning of your new Canton speakers (Fig. 1).
This means that best performance is usually obtained when the two speakers and your favourite listening position lie at the corners of an equilateral triangle.
If you use Canton compact speakers the optimum vertical position is given at approximately the level of your ears when listening. You can place the speakers on a shelf or alternatively use speaker stands from the Canton LSseries which are available as accessories.
For decoupling the speakers from the floor most Canton speakers are provided with self-adhesive rubber pucks.
The damping pucks can be stuck underneath the speakers after removing the protecting film.
If there are tapped holes provided in the bottom of your Canton speaker use them for attaching the metal spikes.
Most of the Canton compact speakers can be mounted to the wall. Therefore use a Cantomount wallbracket which is not allways included.

It is possible in principle to use any Canton-speaker in a surround system. All Canton products have been trimmed accurately for neutral sound reproduction, so that balanced tone performance is obtained with any combination. Even if they are products from different speaker-families.
Four speakers are distinguished according to their respective functions in a surround system (Fig. 2)
Center-speaker: It must be placed in the immediate vicinity of the television picture (above or below it). All Canton center speakers are magnetically shielded to prevent disturbance of the television picture.

Place the main-speakers to the left and the right of the picture (television set), at least 60 cm distance from the screen edges.
It reproduces the extreme low frequency signals required by the special effects found in movie soundtracks. The active subwoofer can be located almost anywhere in the room.
In most cases the surround-speakers should be located to the left and right beside or behind the listener, slightly higher than the seat position.
For further information please consult the operating instructions manual of your A/V amplifier (surround amplifier, receiver).

For most of the Canton mini-speakers wall brackets are available. These make it possible to place the speakers in optimum earlevel position. See two examples in Fig. 3. With some Canton mini-speakers the wall brackets are included. If not you can buy them as a Cantomount wallbracket from your authorized canton dealer.
S P E A K E R S TA N D S
An alternative to wall mounting offer the Canton LS-speakerstands. Matching stands are available for main-, center- and surroundspeakers. They guarantee an optimum position in earlevel. You can buy the Canton LSspeakerstands as an accessorie from your nearest Canton dealer.
P O S I T I O N I N G A C E N T E R - S P E A K E R
The prefered place for a center-speaker is above or below your television set. For optimizing the dispersionangle some Canton mini-centers are equiped with a stabilisator. Attach it to the back of the cabinet as shown in Fig. 4. By tuning the stabilisator you can adjust its hight and therewith the dispersion-angle of the centerspeaker.

Important! Switch-off your amplifier before connecting the speakers to it.
You will find one of the connector terminals as shown in Fig. 5 on the rear of your Canton speakers. These terminals are provided for connecting the Canton speakers to the amplifier. If present, first remove the insulating protective caps from the screw terminals.

In order to make it easier to distinguish plus (+) from minus (-) the screwclamps on the back of the loudspeaker
(plus = red, minus = black) as well as the screwclamps of your amplifier or receiver differ in colour or are marked with a symbol. Also the two conductors of the loudspeaker cable differ in colour, form or marking.

Most of our speakers are equipped such that you can connect the tweeter/midrange chassis and the woofer chassis separately to two respective amplifiers (bi-amping), or at least via two separate connecting cables (bi-wiring). For this purpose these speakers are fitted with a dual terminals set. The upper pair of sockets is intended for the treble/midrange frequencies, and the bottom pair for bass frequencies. These two terminal pairs have been linked with jumpers in the factory for normal operation with a single connecting cable. Remove the jumpercables for bi-wiring/bi-amping operating mode. For this purpose, release the terminal screws and pull the jumpercables away to the side under the screws. Fig. 6 shows the cable connections diagram for the two variants.

Canton loudspeakers are suitable for operation with amplifiers producing large output power, even if the amplifier output power is greater than the load ratings specified in the technical data for the Canton loudspeakers. In practice, loudspeakers are more endangered by amplifiers with weak output power because the so-called "clipping distortion" they produce when attempting to produce more sound pressure by turning-up the volume and tone controls boosts the mean power especially in the tweeters of the speaker boxes and may destroy the tweeters. Therefore please pay attention not to set volume levels leading to distortion – turn down the volume level directly when necessary.

For a long term enjoyment with your Canton-speakers please avoid temperature extremes, damp and direct sunlight. Do not use spirit based cleaners for the loudspeaker cabinet. Clean with a damp lint free cloth only.
Conditions of Guarantee
In addition to guarantee rights under statuary law, Canton grants a five-year warranty on all passive loudspeakers. The guarantee period commences on date of purchase and applies only to the initial purchaser. Not covered by the guarantee are transport damage and damage caused by improper handling/use. The claim period shall not be extended by the replacement of parts or components within the term of the guarantee. This guarantee extends to all canton loudspeakers purchased from an authorized Canton dealer.
