Ensure vacuum readings are between 4.75” and 5.00” HG, center the roll knob and D.G. course selector indicator, engage the roll switch and test the control wheel response, engage the heading mode switch and test the roll servo response, and override the autopilot at the control wheel in both directions.

Trim the aircraft to a wings level flight attitude, center the roll knob and engage the autopilot "ON" switch, select "HDG" mode if the navigation mode selector is installed, center the D.G. course selector indicator and engage the heading mode switch.

The autopilot operating limitations and any special limitations will be specified on the Limitations Placard or in the Airplane Flight Manual Supplement. This should be carefully read and understood.
