TSL UMD Setup
Cable Connections
The device connects to the switcher over either an
RS-422 serial connection to a DB9 port on the switcher
and an RJ45 port on the device, or a standard ethernet
connection.
6. Press Com Type and use the Type knob to
select the type of communications for the device.
• Serial — use the Baud and Parity knobs to
select 38400 (baud) and EVEN (parity).
• Ethernet use the Client/Server knob to
select Client and enter the IP address of the
device in the Remote IP Address field
and the port in the Remote Port field.
7. Press HOME > Confirm.

1. Press HOME > Setup > Installation >
Source Config > More > More > UMD
Inputs.
2. Use the Input knob to select the input source
that you want to set the UMD address for.
3. Use the UMD # knob to select the UMD input
address that you want to assign to the selected
input source.
Tip: Select OFF (UMD#0) to not assign a UMD to an
input source.
4. Press HOME > Confirm.
Switcher Setup
The switcher must be set up to communicate with the
UMD using either serial or ethernet protocols.
To Set Up Communications
Device Setup
You cannot use UMD Address#0 for an input to the
switcher. The switcher uses this address for OFF.
1. Press HOME > Setup > Installation > Com
Setup.
2. Press Type and use the Com Port knob to
select the remote port that you want to set up for
your device.
3. Use the Device knob to select UMD Input.
4. Press Select Device and use the Device knob
to select TSL UMD.
5. Press Com Type and use the Type knob to
select the type of communications for the device.
• Serial — select RS-422.
•
Ethernet — select Network TCP.
