ORTEC MAESTRO-32 MCA Emulator Software User’s Manual

Below you will find brief information for MCA Emulator MAESTRO-32. The MAESTRO-32 MCA emulation continuously shows the spectrum being acquired, the current operating conditions, and the available menus. All important operations that need to be performed on the spectrum, such as peak location, insertion of regions of interest (ROIs), and display scaling and sizing are implemented with both the keyboard (accelerators) and mouse (toolbar and menus). Spectrum peak searching, report generation, printing, archiving, calibration, and other analysis tools are available from the menus. Some menu functions have more than one accelerator so that both new and experienced users will find the system easy to use. This version of MAESTRO continues to offer the flexibility of constructing automated sequences or “job streams.”

Frequently asked questions

The MAESTRO-32 software, combined with ORTEC multichannel buffer (MCB) hardware, emulates a multichannel analyzer (MCA) for various applications in nuclear spectroscopy.

MAESTRO-32 is designed for use on PCs running Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, XP Professional Service Pack 2, and Windows Vista Ultimate.

The software supports ORTEC's CONNECTIONS-32-compliant MCBs, including various models such as DSPEC, Detective, Detective-EX, trans-SPEC, EASY-MCA, OCTÊTE Plus USB, and ASPEC-927.

MAESTRO-32 can control and display an almost unlimited number of CONNECTIONS-32-compliant MCBs, both local and networked. Multiple MAESTRO windows can be opened simultaneously to display different detectors, buffers, spectrum files, and data analyses.

Job streams allow you to construct automated sequences of tasks, providing a convenient way to perform repetitive or complex analysis tasks.

Data can be saved directly from the detector to disk, analyzed in the detector's hardware memory, or moved to a buffer in the computer's memory for further processing and analysis.
