The primary phone book easily stores up to 500 numbers and you can create fi ve separate phone books and call lists. Before dialling, the LCD display shows contact names or numbers from the phone book for confi rmation. Because the DEH-P55BT comes with a microphone, an additional hands-free installation kit is no longer required. The ICEpower ® digital amplifi er technology offers an answer to the disadvantages of conventional Class D, which is prone to distortion.

By combining the unique COM (Controlled Oscillation Modulation) and the MECC (Multivariable Enhanced Cascade Control) system,

Initially, the analogue signal is turned into a PWM (Pulse Width

HEADUNITS | Sources

Radio Text

At the press of a button, you receive RDS data in the form of text messages, which can be viewed on screen with a scrolling function and can be saved in the memory.

CD

RDS

The ‘Intelligent RDS Tuner’ incorporates the ‘Non Interruption Philosophy’ for improved network following. Using sophisticated algorithms, the tuner screens the alternative frequencies for a radio station in order to guarantee clear and uninterrupted reception.

CD Text

The CD Text functionality allows you to view text information, such as disc titles, track titles and artists’ names, from any CD Text encoded compact disc.

DISC TITLE

Disc Title Memory

Disc Title Memory allows you to programme a descriptive title of up to 10 digits, which is shown when a CD is selected. Most Pioneer CD RDS tuners allow you to enter up to 48 titles.

MP3

As one of the most common audio compression formats, MP3 allows large audio fi les to be stored on one CD-R/CD-RW. Pioneer’s range of headunits is equipped with large buffering capabilities, allowing them to handle data rates from 16 kbps and VBR Variable

Bit Rate recording.

WAV

WAV

Whereas MP3 and WMA compress audio fi les while possibly compromising the audio quality, WAV fi les store CD-quality, uncompressed audio data (44.1 kHz / 16-bit).

Requiring roughly 10 MB per minute of music, the WAV format is the standard when saving audio CDs under the Windows operating system. Pioneer CD RDS tuners with

WAV compatibility support the following formats and sampling frequencies: LPCM

(16/22.05/24/32/44.1/48 kHz) and MS ADPCM (22.05/44.1 kHz).

WMA (Windows Media™ Audio)

WMA, Microsoft’s music compression format, uses the latest coding technologies to compress an original audio track, minimising fi le sizes while maintaining good audio quality even at rates as low as 64 KB/sec.

SFEQ

SFEQ (Sound Focus Equaliser)

SFEQ stands for a customised audio experience. By allowing you to control the bass and treble settings independently, you can create a well-balanced, natural audio effect perfected to your car.

SLA

SLA (Source Level Adjuster)

Using the FM volume level as a reference, the SLA independently adjusts the varying volume ratio between the headunit’s various sources to guarantee a consistent start-up volume.

AUX-In for External Music Sources

Using the MCD connection, you can easily hook up external music sources with an RCA output, like MP3 players, etc. This requires a headunit with IP-Bus connectivity and the optional CD-RB20 adapter.

AMPLIFIERS

IRRP (Independent Rail Regulating Power supply)

Whereas ordinary amplifi ers only truly regulate the positive rail, IRRP technology regulates both the positive and negative rail separately to guarantee prime reliability and performance.

MASS (Multi Amplifi er Synchronisation System)

Pioneer’s MASS technology allows you to centrally control a multi-amplifi er set-up from one master amp.

ASL (Automatic Sound Leveliser)

In order to mask varying levels of exterior noise and enhance your listening enjoyment, the ASL technology automatically adjusts the volume and frequencies.

BMX

BMX (Bitmetric Equaliser)

The BMX enhances digital compressed audio, as well as audio from a poor original source. By adjusting the signal output level and tonal characteristics according to the signal level input, BMX leads to more natural audio.

Direct Sub Drive

Direct Sub Drive allows you to boost your audio experience by hooking up a subwoofer directly to your CD RDS tuner, without the need for a separate component amplifi er.

In order to do so, EEQ+ fi lters the rear channel output, while the powerful MOSFET 50 drives the subwoofer.

EEQ (Easy EQ)

Pioneer’s EEQ enhances your traditional bass/treble adjustments. Choose between the 3-band (parametric) equaliser curve or one of the preset curves. With additional parameters, the result matches a Digital EQ system.

LPF/HPF

EEQ (Easy Equaliser) +

For onboard network capability, the EEQ+ expands EEQ with a LPF (Low Pass Filter) or a combined LPF/HPF (Low Pass Filter/High Pass Filter).

EQ-EX (Equaliser Expansion)

Boost your equalizer settings with EQ-EX (Equaliser Expansion). At the press of a button, each of the EEQ curves is independently tuned for optimum effect in order to add an edgy and more dramatic touch to your music.

FIE (Front Image Enhancer)

By stopping the high frequency signals to the rear speakers, the FIE electronically shifts the sounds focus forward. This leads to a most clear sound image for the front seats, without compromising the dynamic bass response from the rear speakers.

Hi-Volt Pre-Outs

The Hi-Volt pre-outs lower the demand on the amps’ input circuit by providing a stronger high-defi nition, low-noise signal. This allows the amps to function with lower gain settings, ultimately leading to enhanced audio quality and an expended dynamic range.

LOUD

Loudness Control

Low and high-frequency music sounds can be easily suppressed by ambient noise levels in the car, especially at low volume levels. Loudness control boosts these frequencies at the push of a button, leading to improved overall audio at lower volume levels.

SPEAKERS & SUBWOOFERS

3-layer Fibre Woven Radial Surround

The ingenious 3-layer Fibre Woven Radial Surround combines two outer layers and one inner layer of interwoven fi bre to make for a lasting and fl exible surround that is even more capable of handling high power.

ADMG (Aero-Dynamic Magnetic Gap)

Each pole piece and top plate of the ADMG has an air channel in a narrow magnetic gap, which effectively reduces physical resistance.

Air Suspension Control Excursion System

Airtight space in between the two cones of the TS-SW1241D. This enables the main cone to move solidly and smoothly. Furthermore, the drive cone defl ects air pressure from the enclosure, which results in very tight bass — even in a very small enclosure.

Ceramic-Coated Voice Coil

The ceramic coating superbly insulates the voice coil wire, preventing short circuits due to overheating and drastically improving reliability; meaning double power handling capacity of a conventional voice coil.

DVC (Dual Voice Coil)

DVC subwoofers’ fl exible wiring confi gurations, in combination with a low load capabilities. The two voice coils of 4 ohm impedance each can be connected in parallel for the power of a 2 ohm-sub, or in series for an 8 ohm-sub. This creates the opportunity for various installation confi gurations and the creation of a fi rst-rate system.

IMPP™ (Injection-Moulded Polypropylene) Composite Cone

In order to guarantee equal cone thickness that leads to prime linearity and clarity,

Pioneer uses ‘Composite’ technology. This special injection moulding realises the perfect mix of polypropylene and carbon-fi bre, graphite and other materials to optimise the speaker cone for its specifi c application (woofers, midranges, or tweeters, etc.).

Interlaced Fibre Reinforced IMPP™ Cone

Pioneer’s patent-pending IMPP™ cone utilises a composite blend of interlaced long fi bres (e.g. carbon fi bres). This cone is extremely rigid yet lightweight, for low distortion and powerful bass at high sound pressure levels.

KEVLAR ® brand Fibre Composite Cone Woofer

Was meticulously designed to reproduce real strings and vocals with less distortion.

Thanks to the KEVLAR ® brand Fibre Cone with rubber edge, you can expect accurate, smooth sound from mid-bass to upper midrange frequencies.

Overhung Surround

By extending the wide-roll surround over the typical gasket area, this design provides

22 % more cone surface than traditional surround designs. The increased surface area moves more area and achieves higher sound pressure levels.
