The ASSIST button launches the VAIO Care while your computer is on. While the computer is off, the ASSIST button launches the VAIO Care Rescue. The VAIO Care Rescue can be used to recover the computer in case of emergency, for example, when the Windows does not start.

To charge the battery pack, install the battery pack and connect the computer to a power source with the AC adapter. The charge indicator light is on while the battery pack is charging. When the battery pack charges close to the maximum charge level you selected, the charge indicator turns off.

To extend the battery life, decrease the LCD brightness of your computer screen or use the power saving mode.
