A wrench or a key that is left attached to a rotating part of the too! may result in personal injury. 10)Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at ail times. Proper footing and balance enable batter control of the tool in unexpected situations. 11)Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions. Tool use and care 12)Use clamps or other practical way to secure and support the workpiece to a stable platform. Holding the work by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of control and serious bodily injury. 13)Do not force tool. Use the correct too! for your application. The correct tool wili do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed. 14)Do not use tool if switch dose not turn it on or off. À tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. 15)Disconnect battery pack from tool or place the switch in the locked or off position before making any adjustments, risk of starting the tool accidentally. 16)Store idle tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools are dangerous in the hands ot untrained users. 17)When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like: paper clips, coins, keys, nalls, screws, or other smail metal objects that can make à connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery tesminals together may cause sparks, bums or a fire. 18)Maintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained tools with sham cutting edge are less likely to bind and are easier to control. 5 19)Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the tool's operations. If damaged , have the tool serviced before using. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools, 20)Use only accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer for your model, Accessories that may be suitable for one tool may create a risk of injury when used on another tool, Service 21)Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Follow instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow Maintenance Instructions may create a risk of shock or injury. SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES DANGER! 1) Keep hands away from cutting area and blade. Keep your second hand on auxiliary handle or motor housing. if both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade. Keep your body positioned to either side of the saw blade, but not in line with the saw blade. KICKBACK could cause the saw to jump backwards. (See KICKBACK) Do not reach underneath the work. The guard can not protect you from the blade below the work. 2) Check lower guard for proper closing before each use. Do not operate saw if lower guard doses not move freely and close instantly. Never clamp or tie the lower guard into the open position. if saw is accidentally dropped, lower guard may be bent. Raise the lower guard with the Lower Guard Lift Lever and make sure it moves fraely and does not touch the blade or any other part in all angles and depths of cut. 3) Check the operation and condition of the lower guard spring. if the guard and the spring are not operating properly, they must be serviced before use. Lower guard may operate sluggishly due to damaged parts, gummy deposits, or a buildup of debris. Lower guard should be retracted manually only for special cuts such as “Pocket Cuts” and “Compound Cuts”. Raise tower guard by Lower Guard Lift Lever. As soon as blade enters the material, lower guard must be released. For all other sawing, the lower guard should operate automatically. | Always observe that the lower guard ls covering the blade before placing saw down on bench or floor. An unprotected, coasting blade will cause the saw to walk backwards, cutting whatever is In its path. Be aware of the time it takes for the blade to stop after switch is released. NEVER hold piece being cut in your hands or across your leg. it is important to support the work properly to minimize body exposure, blade binding, or loss of control. Hold tool by insulated gripping sufaces when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a “live” wire will also make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator. When ripping always use a rip fence or straight edge guide. This improves the accuracy of cut and reduces the chance for blade bindng. Always use blade with correct size and shape (diamond vs. round) arbor holes. Blades that do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will run eccentrically, causing loss of control. 10)Never use damaged or Incorrect blade washers or bolts. The blade washers and bolt were specially designed for your saw, for optimum performance and safety of operation, 11)Cause and Operator Prevention of Kicidback: Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound, or misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to lift up and out of the workpiece toward the operator. When the blade Is pinched or bound tightly by the kerf closing down, the blade stalls and the motor reaction drives the unit rapidly back toward the operator. If the blade becomes 4) 5) 6) 7) 8) 9) x twisted or misaligned in the cut, the teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into the top surface of the wood causing the blade to climb out of the kerf and jump back toward the operator. Kickback is the resuit of tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below: 12)Maintain a firm grip on the saw and position your body and arm in a way that allows you to resist KICKBACK forces. KICKBACK forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper precautions are taken. 13) When blade ls binding, or when interrupting a cut for any reason, release the trigger and hold the saw motionless In the material until the blade comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the saw from the work or pull the saw backward while the blade is in motion or KICKBACK may occur. Investigate and take corrective actions to eliminate the cause of blade binding. 14) When restarting a saw in the workpiece, center the saw biade in the lœrf and check that teeth are not engaged into the material. if saw blade is binding, it may walk up or KICKBACK from the workpiece as the saw is restarted. 15)Support large panels to minimize the risk of blade pinching and KICKBACK. Large panels tend to sag under their own weight. Supports must be placed under the panel on’ both sides, near the line of cut and near the edge of the panel. 16)Do not use dull or damaged blade. Unsharpened or improperly set blades produce narrow kerf causing excessive friction, blade binding, and KICKBACK. 17)Blade depth and bevel adjusting locking levers must be tight and secure before making cut.lf blade adjustment shifts while cutting, it will cause binding and KICKBACK. 18)Use extra caution when making a “Pocket Cut” Into existing walls or other blind areas. The protruding blade may cut objects that can cause KICKBACK, or a live wire could cause electric shock. 19)The risk of kickback increases as the battery pack discharges. 20)Be sure to inspect material. Avoid cutting Бойз, nails or other different material. 21)Be careful not to drop Wood Saw. 22)Never swing Wood Saw. 23)Never cover the ventilation slots, and keep them free from dust or other material. 24)Do not clamp Wood Saw in a vise. Never cut with Wood Saw held upside down in a vise. This is extremely dangerous and can lead to serious accidents. 25)Never wear knitted 26)Be sure no one is below when using Wood Saw in high locations. 27)Do not touch the blade immediately after operation. it may be hot and could burn your skin.
