M100 Hard Reset and Firmware Installation Procedure
In the event that you believe that your M100 firmware has become corrupted, or if your
M100 does not respond properly, you may use this procedure to completely remove the previous version of M100 firmware.
Connect the AC adapter to the M100. Verify that your CF card is installed in the M100.
Power the M100 ON, then press the reset button located on the top right-hand side of the
M100. The M100 will restart in PDA mode. Tap on the screen directly above the
“Start” icon. Tap on the “Programs” button, then on “File Explorer”. Click on the
“My Documents” header, then tap on “My Device”. Tap on “Storage Card”, then on the “Utility” folder. Tap on the m100Utility icon. Tap on the Hard Reset button that appears. Your M100 will now be cleared of any previous firmware version.
PDA Setup: Tap on the opening screen, then begin to align screen by tapping on the targets that appear on each screen. Advance to the next section that explains the use of the stylus. Tap on the next button. You will now have to cut and paste on the calendar section. When finished, tap on the “Next” button. Select your city location and time zone, then tap on the “Next” button. You should now see the Complete message.
Installing M100 firmware: Tap anywhere on the screen. You should see the “Installing
M100” message. Tap on the “OK” button. The program will start to install itself.
Set Month, Year, Day, Current Time, and Time Zone. When finished, tap on the
Apply button, then Click on the “OK” button in the top right corner of the screen. The
M100 will reset itself then power OFF. Power the M100 back ON to verify that your
OTDR screen will appear. Your M100 has now been upgraded.
