= SVS/ Fisher-Price Instructions Stereo AM/FM Radio Message To Parents Thank you for purchasing the Fisher-Price Stereo AM/FM Radio. Please take a few moments to explain to your child how to use the Stereo AM/FM Radio safely and properly. Removeable Headset/Handle AM/ FM Belt Clip Switch Volume/ ON-OFF Headset Te Station Dial Volume Battery Limiter Compartment Switch Door FEATURES 1. AM/FM SWITCH — To select AM stations, slide switch to AM. To select FM stations, slide switch to FM. 2. VOLUME/ON-OFF KNOB — Select a volume level by rotating the knob clockwise for higher volume and counter-clockwise for lower volume. To turn ON, rotate the knob clockwise. To turn OFF, rotate the knob all the way counter-clockwise. 3. TUNING KNOB - Rotate the TUNING KNOB to move the station indicator in the STATION DIAL. The tuning system is specifically designed to move the station indicator slowly in order to give children more control in locating a station. 4. VOLUME LIMITER SWITCH — Concealed in the battery compartment, the VOLUME LIMITER SWITCH allows adults to control the maximum volume level for children. 5. HEADSET JACK — The headset jack is located on the top of the Stereo AM/FM Radio. 6. HEADSET/HANDLE — The headset removes easily for personal listening and snaps onto the unit for carrying. 7. BELT CLIP — Provides convenient portability. BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Release the latch to open the battery compartment door. 2. Insert two size AA alkaline batteries, as illustrated inside the battery compartment. 3. Replace the battery compartment door and be sure that it snaps securely shut. NOTE: Remove the batteries during long periods of non-use. Never leave worn-out batteries in the Stereo AM/FM Radio. Battery leakage and corrosion can damage the unit. If the Stereo AM/FM Radio seems to be operating improperly, refer to the Owner's Checklist on the back page of this instruction booklet. TO LIMIT VOLUME 1. Release the latch to open the battery compartment door. 2. Turn volume limiter switch to ON position. (To increase volume, turn volume limiter switch to OFF position.) 3. Replace the battery compartment door and be sure that it snaps securely shut. TO PLAY 1. Rotate VOLUME/ON-OFF KNOB clockwise to turn ON. 2. Select station by sliding the AM/FM SWITCH to either AM or FM. Rotate TUNING KNOB to desired station. 3. Adjust the VOLUME/ON-OFF KNOB to the desired volume level. HEADSET USE о | Headband но — Head set To Use As A Headset 1. Remove the headset from the Stereo AM/FM Radio. 2. Adjust the headset for proper fit. Pull up on the top of the headband to make the headset larger. Push down on the top of the headband to make the headset smaller. 3. Insert the headset plug into the headset jack. NOTE: While using the Stereo AM/FM Radio with the headset: e Do not adjust the volume too high, so that you can't hear other sounds around you. e If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce the volume or discontinue use. To Use As A Handle 1. Push the top of the headband all the way down. 2. Snap the headset to the Stereo AM/FM Radio, and carry as shown. Weak reception ® Weak batteries e Replace both batter- les with new alkaline batteries. e Out of range e Rotate the tuning knob to another station. e Volume too low e Rotate the volume knob clockwise to increase volume. e Turn OFF volume limiter. Static e Unit not tuned e Rotate the tuning knob to station to desired station.
