Getting ready for kindergarten is an exciting time for you and your child. As a parent, you’ll play an important role in developing a good foundation for learning - and

Kasey the Kinderbot ™ can help.

Kasey was developed with help from teachers and educational experts. He comes to life to help your preschooler learn more than 40 skills that are important for success in kindergarten.

Your child will enjoy hours of singing, dancing, taking turns and learning with Kasey and his computer pal Chip - a funny friend who’s always willing to lend a hand! And

Kasey knows that academic, social and physical development are all essential parts of preparing for kindergarten.

Kasey can’t wait to become your child’s ....

“get-ready-for-school friend.”

Learning is more fun with a friend - especially a friend like Kasey the Kinderbot ™ ! Kasey has a unique, playful personality that he loves to demonstrate through movement, expressions and a great sense of humor! Your child will have fun exploring all four places they can go with Kasey ....

• Did you know that Kasey once visited a farm? Now, he has a farm of his own, with animals, foods and letters from A to Z on the ABC Farm.

• Kasey wants to be a chef when he grows up. Come visit his Counting Kitchen to learn numbers, counting, shapes and more.

• Kasey loves to dance, sing and move -- you can do it too at the Playground.

• There are lots of fun activities (trivia, magic tricks and more) in Kasey’s Game Room. Take a look!

More than 40 school-ready skills!

Educational experts believe that a wide range of factors contribute to a child’s success in school. But it’s more than simply knowing the A-B-C’s and 1-2-3’s. Research has shown that kindergartners need to develop skills in three key areas: Academic, Social and Physical.

That’s why Kasey’s Learning Circuit helps build more than 40 school-ready skills ranging from the alphabet and numbers to manners and taking turns, plus dancing, singing and stretching too!

“Wow! What a fun way to help preschoolers develop the well-rounded skills needed for a successful kindergarten experience!”

Here’s a recipe for math success, with all the ingredients to teach numbers, counting, colors, shapes and more!

Time to exercise mind

AND body with dancing, stretching, singing and other physical activities.

Game Room

Learning is extra fun with magic tricks, match-up activities, memory games and trivia questions.

Feed the Letters

Let’s sing the Alphabet song!

Farm animals make sounds and so do letters. Listen to the letter sound and then find the correct letter.

Letter Barn

Help Kasey identify letters and match upper and lower case.

Farmer Wilkins’ Farm

Match the animal to the letter it begins with and help identify the food it eats.

Kitchen Spy

You’re on the case! To solve it, guess the answer to Kasey’s question. He’ll give you hints - it’s either more or less.

Make Cookies

Time to make cookies with Chip.

You can help by finding the correct shape.

Try Kasey’s Recipes

Take turns following Kasey’s recipe.

Listen to the directions carefully to add the correct number of ingredients.

Kasey’s Magnets

Help Chip

Help Chip clean-up her messy room. Match the items in her room to put them away.

Mixed-Up Masks

Which mask is happy - which one is sleepy? Chip loves wearing masks. Match the mask with the mood.

Magic Kasey

Help Kasey remember which object popped out of his magic hat, find Chip hiding inside the magic squares, or figure out what’s missing.

Kasey’s Crazy

Quiz Questions

Kasey has lots of quiz questions about animal sounds, body parts, senses and same/different. Answer three questions correctly to win!

Preparing for kindergarten can begin long before the first day of school! Here are a few things you can do to help your child get ready for school – academically, socially and physically.

1.

Read together as often as possible and invite your child to get involved in the story by pointing to words and pictures.

2.

Expose your child to math concepts including numbers, counting, shapes and patterns. Use everyday activities such as counting stairs, comparing objects around the house, or recognizing numbers on the telephone.

3.

Help your child remember important information such as birth date, age, telephone number and address as well as the letters in your child’s first and last name.

4.

Build good listening skills by involving your child in conversations.

Ask your child to repeat directions and play games that require listening and following instructions.

5.

Help your child follow a daily routine and assign simple responsibilities such as turning off the lights when leaving a room, putting toys away after playtime, or making the bed.

6.

Encourage your child to make decisions such as what kind of cereal to eat for breakfast, choosing clothing for the day, or picking a book to read together.

7.

Provide opportunities for your child to interact with other children and encourage sharing, taking turns and working together.

8.

Take your child to interesting, child-friendly places such as the library, zoo, park, museum or even the grocery store.

9.

Encourage your child to dress independently and take care of personal hygiene. Have your child practice using zippers, buttons, snaps and laces; going to the bathroom alone, washing hands and brushing teeth.

10.

Work together on arts and crafts projects that allow your child to practice cutting with scissors, holding a pencil and using glue, crayons and markers.

Games are wonderful ways to get your child thinking! There are so many funfilled activities and games you can play with your child – just like Kasey does – to expand the learning! Here are a few suggestions you can try at home.

Treasure Hunt Game -

Your child can learn to follow directions when you make up your own treasure hunt game. Place a special treat for your child in a box (try a healthy snack) and hide it. Then, make a map for your child to follow through your house. Use simple drawings to show which room is next and perhaps an activity to do in each. Maybe your child’s first stop is the bedroom to put away a toy. Then it’s on to the bathroom sink to wash hands. Next, go to the kitchen in search of a drink in the refrigerator. Finally, look behind the living room sofa, – it’s the treasure!

So much to talk about -

Support your child’s language development by talking with your child. You can talk about familiar numbers, letters and colors in your child’s environment.

- the number of people in your immediate and extended family

- the ages of people in your child’s family

- the first letters of the names of each person in your child’s family

- your telephone number and home address

- the color of your child’s house; bedroom; favorite clothes and shoes; the family pet; family car

- the spelling of your child’s name

Let’s Bake Shape Cookies -

Children learn through hands-on activities. Help your child learn about shapes by baking shape cookies. Your child can follow a recipe along with you. Take turns adding the ingredients. Your child identifies the shape when cutting the cookie out of the dough and then again when eating this yummy treat!

Exercising is Fun Encourage physical activity and help your child develop coordination. Make up your own exercising and stretching routines! Or, teach your child a favorite dance.

Let’s Sort -

Categorization is an important skill for math and science. Ask your child to sort socks by color and size or, find other things around the house to match and sort (canned goods).

What’s This? -

Build your child’s vocabulary. Help your child identify objects around the house along with recognizing words.

Put a label on appliances, furniture, food, rooms of the house, etc., and help your child associate the word with the object.

It’s Fun to Make a Collage Take turns making an art project. Cut out pictures of your favorite things from magazines and ads. First let your child select a picture, then let someone else take a turn. Glue the pictures to a piece of paper for a fun collage!
