Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Discard used batteries according to following caution: Disposal or transportation of lithium batteries should be performed by permitted, in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines. A battery continues to have no transportation limitations as long as it is separated to prevent short circuits and packed in strong packaging. Commercial firms that dispose of any quantity of lithium cells should have a mechanism in place to account for their ultimate disposition. This is a good practice for all types of commercial or industrial waste. When the lithium battery is exchanged, the clock settings are cleared. In this case, make clock settings again. Recommend Type Number: CR2032/1VC1 (BAT501) Manufactured by MATSUSHITA [for BB-HCM511A] BR-2032-1VC (BAT501) Manufactured by MATSUSHITA [for BB-HCM531A] CR Coin Cell Lithium Battery Information: This product contains a CR Coin Cell Lithium Battery which contains Perchlorate Material - special handling may apply. About Lead Free Solder (PbF: Pb free) Note: In the information below, Pb, the symbol for lead in the periodic table of elements, will refer to standard solder or solder that contains lead. We will use PbF solder when discussing the lead free solder used in our manufacturing process which is made from Tin, (Sn), Silver, (Ag), and Copper, (Cu). This model, and others like it, manufactured using lead free solder will have PbF stamped on the PCB. For service and repair work we suggest using the same type of solder. Caution • PbF solder has a melting point that is 50° F ~ 70° F (30° C ~ 40° C) higher than Pb solder. Please use a soldering iron with temperature control and adjust it to 700° F ± 20° F (370° C ± 10°C). • Exercise care while using higher temperature soldering irons.: Do not heat the PCB for too long time in order to prevent solder splash or damage to the PCB. • PbF solder will tend to splash if it is heated much higher than its melting point, approximately 1100°F, (600°C). • When applying PbF solder to double layered boards, please check the component side for excess which may flow onto the opposite side (See figure, below). 3 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A 1.2.1. Suggested PbF Solder There are several types of PbF solder available commercially. While this product is manufactured using Tin, Silver, and Copper, (Sn+Ag+Cu), you can also use Tin and Copper, (Sn+Cu), or Tin, Zinc, and Bismuth, (Sn+Zn+Bi). Please check the manufacturer’s specific instructions for the melting points of their products and any precautions for using their product with other materials. The CPU is performs mainly hardware control, TCP/IP protocol processing and applications such as http and FTP. The clock setting is 27MHz, 48MHz, 57MHz and 108MHz by inside, which multiphy 48MHz oscillation in the X101 by PLL. There are two types of external bus: the General-purpose bus and the bus for SDRAM only. The General bus is connected to a Flash Memory for program storage. The capacity of the Flash Memory (IC104) is 64Mbit (4Mx16bit); the program, the setting information for the network camera and the MAC address are stored. Two SDRAMs (IC103/106) of 128Mbit (8Mx16bit) are used, which are connected to CPU with bus width of 32bit, and are available for CPU processing work, storage of communication data, and storage of audio/image data. The RESET IC (IC101) monitors the power supply voltage, detects the rising edge of +3.3V and generates the Hardware Reset Signal. RESET SW (SW101) is connected to RESET IC for a manual reset, and hardware is reset when this SW is pressed. IC110 is RTC (Real Time Clock), and is used for time setting of image transfer, etc. This is backed up by a lithium battery on the IO board (BAT501) even at the time of power OFF. I2C Bus is used as I/F with CPU. There is an RTC block inside IC102, and this inside RTC block operates during the existence of electricity by importing the clock data from IC110 at the time of power ON. IC102 is equipped with the GPIO terminal, which is used for motor control, IO terminal control, etc. An SD memory card control block is included on IC102, and used by connecting an SD card slot (CN105). There is a green LED (LED101) near the SD card slot, and it lights while the SD card is being accessed. When LED101 is turned off by pressing the FUNCTION switch and the access to the SD card, the SD card can be safely pulled out. 10 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A 4.2. Camera Block [Camera (CCD) Board] • C701 is a CCD image sensor module with approx. 320 thousand pixels, and outputs the image signal (CCD_OUT) in VGA size (640×480). IC704 outputs Pixel clock (CAMCLK) and CCD_H drive signal based on the timing of synchronized signal (CAM_HD, CAM_VD) from CPU Board after receiving CLOCK signal from IC715. • IC704 rejects the noise from CCD_OUT signal and compensates the gain, and then outputs 10-bit data (CCD_D[9:0]). • The clock signal (CLOCK) of IC704 is 24.5454MHz, which is generated in IC 715 based on the timing of crystal (X701). • IC704 is controlled by CPU using the serial signal (AFE_LD, CAM_SDI, CAM_SCL). • The hard reset (MEGA_RST) of IC704 is controlled by GPIO of IC102 in CPU unit. • IC703 receives the Vdrive timing signal (Vdrive: CH1, CH2, XV1-XV4) from IC704, and IC701 (CCD) outputs Vdrive signal (CCD_Vdrive :V1-V4). • +3.3V, -5.5V and 15V are required for the power supply of Camera Unit. +3.3V is input from CPU unit. +15V and -5.5V are generated from the input (+3.3V) in IC702, and are led to IC701 and IC703. • The above-mentioned signals and power supplies are connected to CPU Board through CN701. [CPU Board] • The image data (CCD_D[9:0]) input from CCD Board to CPU Board and the pixel clock (CAMCLK) are led to CPU (IC102) through CN106. • IC102 of CPU Board outputs the synchronized signal (CAM_HD and CAM_VD) and serial signal for AFE control (AFE_LD, CAM_SDI, CAM_SCL) through CN106. 11 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A 4.3. Image Compression Block • Image compression (JPEG/MPEG-4 encode) function, memory control unit (MCU), ETHERNET MAC, and SD card controller are built into IC102. • Picture data input from the camera block is captured in SDRAM (1). • Captured image data is input to the ZOM block, where the scaling of the image size is done, (an image size of 640 x 480, 320 x 240, or 192 x 177 is generated from the one with the size of 1280 x 1024, or an image size of 320 x 240 or 192 x 177 from the one with the size of 640 x 480), and is stored in SDRAM again (2). • The scaled image data is input to the JPEG/MPEG-4 encode section of IC102, and the image is compressed. The compressed image data is stored in SDRAM again (3). • After CPU processed the compressed image data for a communication protocol, the data is forwarded to the network via ETHERNET MAC and ETHERNET PHY. And the image data of post-compression is processed for a file and is recorded on the SD card. • As for the video output, the captured image data is scaled to a size of NTSC or PAL at the ZOM block, and then it is output from VIDEO OUT and DAC sections as an analog video signal. • This analog video signal is amplified by the video amplifier (IC109) and output from CN506 on the IO board with the output impedance of 75Ω. 12 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A 4.4. Audio Block External Microphone Jack (CN505) Used with the external microphone. Audio Output (CN504) Used when connecting a speaker with a built-in amplifier, when the audio is output from a camera. Microphone Detection (Q501) When the external microphone plug is not inserted, pins 3 and 2 of the Microphone Jack (CN505) are short-circuited and a base current is supplied to Q501 through R501, R506 and R505 so that the Q501 goes ON and a collector (MIC_S signal) goes LOW. Alternatively, when the microphone plug is inserted, pins 3 and 2 of the CN505 become open so that the Q501 goes OFF and the MIC_S signal goes HIGH. From this signal, the CPU detects the microphone status. The CPU turns the microphone SW on and off in the PCM Codec (IC501) for the external or the built-in microphone, as appropriate. ALC Amplifier (IC602: For the built-in microphone, IC603: For the external microphone) Power Supply: 3.3V Amplifier for Auto Level Control PCM Codec (IC601) Power Supply Voltage: 3.3V Clock Frequency: Contains a built-in PLL function and generates a clock from the BCLK (256 KHz). Contains an amplifier, LPF, gain adjustment, AD/DA converter, host I/F, PCM serial I/F and speaker output function. Flow of audio Signal [Microphone audio] 1. The audio signal input from pin 1 of the built-in microphone connector (CN501) is amplified by the amplifier in the PCM Codec (IC501) and the ALC (IC502), then input as the built-in microphone to the PCM Codec (IC501) again. When the level of the input audio signal is more than the specified value, the gain is changed and the output signal level is kept constant at the ALC (IC502). Audio distortion is controlled when the input is excessive. 2. When the external microphone is attached to the microphone jack (CN505), the audio signal input from pin 2 of the CN505 is amplified by the amplifier in the PCM Codec (IC501) and the ALC (IC503), then input as the external (microphone) to the PCM Codec (IC501) again The ALC (IC503) works in the same way as the IC502. 3. In the PCM Codec (IC501), after the audio signal is switched between the built-in microphone and the external microphone by 13 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A a register setting from the host, amplification, AD conversion and gain adjustment are performed. The sampling frequency of the A/D conversion is 8kHz and it is converted to the PCM in the format of 8bit and µ law. Then, 64kbps data are output to the IC102 on the CPU board through the Serial I/F. The data transfer of the Serial I/F is BCLK (256 kHz). 4. The data compression of 32kbps is performed in the ADPCM Block inside of the IC102 and the data transferred as audio data. [Speaker audio] 1. The ADPCM audio data are sent from the PC and, after data decompression in the ADPCM block of the ASIC (101), the data are transferred as the audio data of 64kbps to the PCM Codec (IC501) through the Serial I/F. 2. After the µ law to linear conversion, amplification and DA conversion, they are output to pin 2 of the speaker jack (CN504) as audio output signal in the PCM Codec (IC501). 4.5. LAN Block Composed of ETHERNET MAC Block inside of the IC102 and the IC105 (ETHER-PHY) on the CPU board, and the T501 (Transformer) and the CN601 (RJ45 jack) on the PoE Board. The T605 (Transformer) obtains isolation between the Set and the Ethernet. ETHERNET MAC and the IC105 (ETHER-PHY) are connected by a signal called MIIBus and it makes Ether net data sending and receiving possible. Sending The communication data sent from the IC102 is converted to Ethernet signal (100Base-Tx, 10Base-T) at the IC105 and sent from the CN601 through the T601. Receiving The Ethernet signal received from the CN601 is converted to the communication data at the IC105 and received to the IC102. 14 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A 4.6. Pan and Tilt Motor Control Circuit Pan and tilt are conducted by controlling the motor driver (IC108) using the signal from GPIO inside of IC102, which is mounted on the CPU board. Also, detection of a home position for operating the pan and tilt are done with the pan photo sensor (IC116 on the CPU board) and the tilt photo sensor (IC2 on the FPC board). This detected signal is transmitted to GPIO at IC102 after being shaped at IC107. 4.7. Power Supply Block • +3.3V is brought about by the power supply of +12V from the PoE (Power over Ethernet) circuit on the PoE board via the DC-DC converter circuit composed of IC114, IC111.D102, L121, and C249. • +1.2V for an internal circuit of IC102 is generated by the series regulator (IC117). 15 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A 4.8. PoE Block [Power receive] The power supplied from a LAN cable receives voltage (48 V) via a diode bridge from a RJ-45 connector (CN601) on the PoE Board. There are 2 types of PoE receiving methods; a type using unused pins (4, 5, 7 and 8 pin) for LAN data transmission and a type using the mid point of data lines (1, 2, 3 and 6 pin). This product is compatible with both types because it is equipped with 2 lines (D601 - D604 and D605 - D608) of diode bridge circuits The outputs of the 2 diode bridges described above are connected to the same poles and supply the subsequent circuits + and powers. [PD certification circuit] The voltage obtained from the diode bridges is supplied to the PD control IC (IC602) of PoE. The IC601 performs the following operations with the applied voltage from the supply side of power. For applied voltage of 2.8 - 10 V from the supply side, it returns the internal resistance value of IC601 (25 kΩ). For applied voltage of 15.5 - 20.5 V from the supply side, it returns the current value by the resistor connected to the Pin (5) of IC602. (This product is resistance value (open) and it is designed with Class 0 specification.) When 48 V is applied as the certification progresses, it conducts between the Pins 7 and 10. [Voltage drop section] When the power of 48V is supplied to the following DC/DC converter section based on the PD authentication, voltage is converted by control IC (IC601), output FET (IC602), switching transformer (T601), rectification diode, and capacitor (C622), which results in output of +12V. [Switching with AC adaptor] There is a DC jack (CN501), to which an AC adaptor is connected when POE is not used, and +12V is input from the AC adaptor. Switching of +12V from the PoE circuit is conducted by using diodes (D621, D501). 16 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A 4.9. Others [I/O Terminal] • The Input terminal has two systems; both of them are connected to the Input Port of the IC102 GPIO. • Due to Internal Pull-up Resistance, the PNP Transistor (Q502, Q503) on the following level is usually in the OFF state and the Input Port connected to the collector is at L level. • If the terminal is short-circuited with the GND or the signal of L level is input, the PNP Transistor goes ON and the Input Port goes to H level. • The CPU checks the state of this port regularly to detect a change in this signal. • The Output terminal is controlled by the Output Port of the IC102. When the Port output is L, the transistor (Q504) on the following level is OFF and, when the output is H, the transistor is ON. This transistor has open collector output and it controls external equipment via external pull-up. [Clear Setting SW] • The Clear Setting SW (SW102) is connected to the Input Port of the GPIO. It is usually at H level and goes to L level, when the SW is pressed. • The CPU monitors this Input Port periodically and, if it detects that this SW is pressed longer than a specified period, the setting values other than the RTC are returned to factory settings. [LED] • The LED (LED501) has two-color LEDs (red and green). When the transistor (Q505, Q506) connected to each LED is turned ON/OFF via the Output Port of the IC102, it controls the ON/OFF of the LED. 17 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A 5 Location of Controls and Components *1 Understanding the Camera Indicator The camera’s indicator lights as follows according to the status of the camera. How to Replace the Flat Package IC Even if you do not have the special tools (for example, a spot heater) to remove the Flat IC, with some solder (large amount), a soldering iron and a cutter knife, you can easily remove the ICs that have more than 100 pins. 7.17.1. Preparation • PbF (: Pb free) Solder • Soldering Iron Tip Temperature of 662°F ± 50°F (350°C ± 10°C) Note: We recommend a 30 to 40 Watt soldering iron. An expert may be able to use a 60 to 80 Watt iron where someone with less experience could overheat and damage the PCB foil. • Flux Recommended Flux: Specific Gravity → 0.82. Type → RMA (lower residue, non-cleaning type) Note: See About Lead Free Solder (PbF: Pb free) (P.3). 7.17.2. Flat Package IC Removal Procedure 1. Put plenty of solder on the IC pins so that the pins can be completely covered. Note: If the IC pins are not soldered enough, you may give pressure to the P.C. board when cutting the pins with a cutter. 2. Make a few cuts into the joint (between the IC and its pins) first and then cut off the pins thoroughly. 3. While the solder melts, remove it together with the IC pins. When you attach a new IC to the board, remove all solder left on the land with some tools like a soldering wire. If some solder is left at the joint on the board, the new IC will not be attached properly. 44 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A 7.17.3. Flat Package IC Installation Procedure 1. Temporarily fix the FLAT PACKAGE IC, soldering the two marked pins. *Check the accuracy of the IC setting with the corresponding soldering foil. 2. Apply flux to all pins of the FLAT PACKAGE IC. 3. Solder the pins, sliding the soldering iron in the direction of the arrow. 7.17.4. Bridge Modification Procedure 1. Lightly resolder the bridged portion. 2. Remove the remaining solder along the pins using a soldering iron as shown in the figure below. 45 BB-HCM511A/BB-HCM531A 8 Disassembly and Assembly Instructions 8.1.
