Activating e-Key Without Internet Access
If your computer does not have internet access or is never online you
can still activate your e-Key using another computer with internet
access and a removable storage device like a USB flash drive. This
guide will show you how to accomplish this. If you need to manually
renew your e-Key you can skip ahead to Step 4.
NOTE: You will need a computer with internet access.
1. Plug the removable storage device into the Case CATalyst and
make note of the drive letter that Windows assigns it. In this
example the drive letter is E:
2. Open Case CATalyst and at Security Device Failure click on
Details.
3. Then click on e-Key.

4. Type in your Product Key Code (PKC) and click Manual e-Key.
NOTE: The Registration Code will automatically fill in after the
PKC is typed in. All O's are zeroes.
5. At the Manual e-Key box click Save Authorization Request
File.

6. The Save Authorization Request To File dialog box appears.
On the left side under Computer (or This PC if on Windows
8), click on the removable drive.

Verify the drive letter in the address bar at the top of the
box.
Click save at the bottom right.
7. Close Case CATalyst and unplug the removable drive from your
computer.
8. Plug the removable drive into a computer with internet access.
Again make note of the drive in this case it is E:. The drive letter
may change from computer to computer.
9. Open a web browser like Internet Explorer and in the address
bar type in: www.stenograph.com/manualupdate.aspx.
10. Click the Browse button and the Choose File to Upload dialog
box will appear.

On the left side under Computer (or This PC if on Windows
8), click on the removable drive.
Verify the drive letter in the address bar at the top of the
box.
On the right side, click the AuthRequest.xml file. Verify
it's in the File name box at the bottom.
Click Open.
11. Now click the Submit button. The site will upload the
AuthRequest file and then prompt you to save an ekey.sgmac
file. Save the file to your removable drive.
12. Unplug the removable drive from the internet computer and plug
it back into your CATalyst computer.
13. Now we need to browse to the ekey.sgmac file that was saved

on the removable drive.
Click Start and then Computer. Windows 8 users click
Start then type "File Explorer" and press Enter.
On the left side under Computer (or This PC if on Windows
8), click on the removable drive.
Find the ekey.sgmac file and double click on it.
14. Case CATalyst will open and display an Options Setup dialog
box. Click Finished.
