Eurolight offers a great deal of flexibility to exchanges to configure new products. Considering the generic nature of the Eurolight Client, and thus this manual, some products and functionality described in this document may not be available to you. However, since your exchange can offer and configure new products we feel it is important to describe all functionality that is supported in
Eurolight.
The screenshots used in this manual are of non-existent configurations. Products displayed in the various screens do not apply to your exchange and use imaginary values. Please consult your exchange to see what products are available.

Chapter 3 Eurolight
Eurolight
Eurolight consists of different modules and handles all security, authentication and authorization issues. Eurolight coordinates the capabilities and permissions of users to various modules, such as Eurolight Client.
The authentication process for Eurolight Client is handled in conjunction with Vasco's Digipass
DP550 system. The digipass is used for external confirmation of authenticity. The Eurolight server handles access to different modules and the level and degree of use allowed to each user.
To access Eurolight you need to startup the Eurolight Client. There you can access any
Eurolight module provided you have been granted sufficient permission by the exchange.
Note that there are two Eurolight Client varieties; the
that is installed once and can only manually be upgraded by re-installation, or the

However, the order is not sent to the market and will be only visible for the User ID that submitted the order, and to those User ID's with view permission on the same Position Account as the submitter.

Appendix E, Glossary
All markets:
Market
Group of market segments. Contains meta data that is used within it's market segments. Divided in phases.
Market Segment
A set of parameters defining instruments eligible for trading.
Phase
Trading phase. Trading cycle during the day, for example pre-opening, opening, continuous trading, closing etc. Defined by the market.
Instruments
Individual item eligible for trading. I.e. the form in which a product is traded.
Product
Commodity traded.
Auction Scope
Timeframe within which instruments will be taken into account for a given auction.
Rolling Instruments
Instruments that are opened in sequence, i.e. on a rolling basis, corresponding to the instrument length, delivery time and the interval in between set by the exchange.
Bursting Instruments
Instruments that are opened at a given time of day, corresponding to settings by the exchange.
Header
Not available to all market segments.
Group of orders that can be submitted and handled by the exchange as one entity. See also Spot
Block and Spot Limit orders.
Spot Limit order
Not available to all market segments.
Grid of orders that share the same market segment and account. They go through margin management in one go; they will all be rejected if any one fails the margin parameter validation.
Spot Block order
Not available to all market segments.
Sequence of orders where all instruments have the same price and must match all together or none at all. They go through margin management in one go; they will all be rejected if any one fails the margin parameter validation.
Linked Family order
Not available to all market segments.
Linked family orders correspond to a set of block orders which are linked together. Only when all parent block orders are matched, their children can also be matched.

Eurolight Trader Client Appendix E, Glossary
Exclusive Group order
Not available to all market segments.
Exclusive group of choice block orders, from which a maximum of one block bid can be accepted.
On Hold orders
Not available to all market segments.
Submitted on hold orders are kept on the server and are visible in the order book. However orders which have been placed on hold are not visible in the market view and can not be matched. A user
(with the correct permissions to modify this order) is able to take the order off hold, making it live again and sending it back to the market. Logging off has no impact on the status of an hold order.
OTC tickets
Only available to OTC specific market segments.
These Over The Counter orders are essentially done-deals between parties concluded off-exchange.
These orders are validated against margin parameters.
Bilateral order
Only available to Bilateral specific market segments for registered counterparties.
Outside Eurolight a bilateral order is often referred to as a deal. Bilateral orders are registered for the purpose of notification.
Gas markets:
Locational Market
Location
There are locational trading points across each country that represent locations on the gas network.
At these points gas can be brought ashore or stored for example.
Meter number
There are locations that represent customer locations (i.e. Daily Metered Customer and Very Large
Daily Metered Customers). When these locations are selected as a trading point, the user MUST enter a meter number to proceed.
Locational and Physical Market
Lead Time
Number of hours required before physical flow of the gas into and out of the network can start.
Lead-time is a required field for both the OCM Physical and Locational markets.
The minimum lead-time is 1 hour and the maximum is 23.
Lead-time is a mandatory field if enabled.
End of Day
(EOD)
Amount of gas that will ultimately be delivered on a day. In Eurolight this is called the Contracted
Volume in Therms/day.
If the user selects this field, he agrees to deliver the stated amount of gas regardless of the lead-time or the time of trade and the hours of the flow day remaining.
For example:
An order is placed for 100,000 therms/day in the EOD field at 1424 on gas day (D) for a day product, with a lead-time of 2 hours. The system begins to count from 1500 (the next hour bar) and counts 2 hours on from there – 1700. There are then 13 hours left of the gas day to deliver 100,000 therms.
184
Copyright Soops b.v.
Eurolight Trader Client Appendix E, Glossary
Day Rate
Amount of gas that would be delivered in an entire day assuming a constant flow during the whole day. On normal days this means 24 hours. On the short and long clock change days this will be 23 or 25 hours respectively.
The day rate has a minimum order size, because the EOD can never be more than the Day Rate.
Reason Code
A code used by members for internal use. There can be a set of reason codes per account/market segment. The reason code can be made mandatory if desired by the member.

You will need to enter your User ID and either a Digipass response code or password. The specific steps are outlined in this guide.
The Eurolight Client offers three modules: Eurolight Trader, Eurolight Message Book, and Eurolight Financial Module.
You can access the network settings in the Eurolight Client Login Screen by clicking the gear icon. However, it is highly recommended to only modify these settings on request from the exchange operator.
You can personalize your Look Preferences in the Eurolight Client Login Screen, altering these has no impact on any functionality.
A Digipass is a physical device used for external confirmation of authenticity. It generates a response code that you enter into the Eurolight Client Login Screen.
