Frequently asked questions

The engine is stopped by switching the ignition off using the stop switch.

The pruning saw requires a mixture of unleaded or leaded high octane petrol (minimum 90 octane) and two-stroke oil. Use Husqvarna two-stroke oil at a 1:50 ratio, or another quality two-stroke oil for air-cooled engines at a 1:33 ratio.

A new saw chain has a running-in period, during which you should check the tension more frequently. After this, check the chain tension every time you refuel.

First, check that the oil channel in the bar is not obstructed and clean it if necessary. Also, ensure the groove in the bar edge is clean and that the bar tip sprocket turns freely. If issues persist, you should contact your service agent.

The length of the shaft is adjustable within certain limits. To adjust, release the wheel, push together or pull apart the shaft to the required length, and then tighten the wheel securely.

Do not smoke or have heat sources near fuel. Never refuel when the engine is running; stop it and let it cool for a few minutes. Refuel in a well-ventilated area, open the fuel cap slowly, tighten it carefully, and move the machine at least 3m from the fueling place before starting.

What type of hydraulic oil should be used?

Hydraulic oil type depends on air temperature: ISO VG 32 is recommended below 20ºC, and ISO VG 45 is recommended above 20ºC. An equivalent class of approved biodegradable hydraulic oil may also be used, provided the oil's flash point exceeds +160°C.

How should the hydraulic system be filled or primed during initial startup?

For a new machine or first startup, run the machine for a maximum of half a minute with repeated throttle starts. After this, add hydraulic oil to the tank until the level stabilizes. Repeat this procedure until the level remains stable.
