Start up
Fitting/replacing battery
Refer to drawing {C}
• Remove battery compartment cover.
• Insert battery, pay attention to correct polarity.
• Close the battery compartment.
• Replace battery when this symbol flashes continuously.
• Only use alkaline batteries.
Remove batteries prior to an extended period without use due to risk of corrosion.
Setting measurement units
Hold down until the required unit appears.
Operation
Switching on/off
Instrument is switched on.
The battery symbol is displayed until a key is pressed.
Holding down this key switches the instrument off.
The instrument also automatically switches itself off after 90 seconds if a key is not pressed.
Clear key
The last action is cancelled
Setting reference
Refer to drawing {D}
Default reference setting is the rear of the instrument. Refer to drawing {E}.
Hold down : the next measurement is triggered from the front edge. Refer to drawing {F}.
Holding down again changes the reference to the rear of the instrument again.
Measuring
Single distance measurement
Laser is activated for aiming, a second key press triggers the distance measurement.
The result is indicated immediately.
Continuous measurement
Refer to drawing {H}.
This functions enables distances to be staked out.
Hold down started.
Press is stopped.

* In favourable conditions (good target surface, room temperature) up to 12 m. In unfavourable conditions, such as bright sunlight, very weakly reflecting target surface or large temperature fluctuations, the error for distances greater than 12 m can increase to around
± 0.25 mm/m.
Measuring conditions
Target surfaces
Measuring errors can occur against colourless liquids (e.g. water), dust-free glass, polystyrene or similar semi-transparent surfaces, as well as in the case of strongly reflecting targets that deflect the laser beam.
In case of targets that reflect very strongly, the laser beam may be deflected and measuring errors may occur.
Dark surfaces or surface that do not reflect may increase the time for a measurement.
