TSYS Voice Authorization Instructions
Follow the instructions below to obtain a voice authorization code (only for merchants using the TSYS platform to process transactions): 1. Call the appropriate phone number below, depending upon which card type requires a voice authorization: Visa®/MasterCard®/Discover® American Express® 800.291.4840 800.528.2121 2. Enter the Merchant ID (MID) number and press #. When calling Visa/MasterCard for a voice authorization, you must remove the first four digits of the MID and add a zero at the end for the MID you input (e.g., 419304000020281 would be entered as 040000202810). 3. Enter the credit card number and press #. 4. Enter the expiration date of the credit card and press #. 5. The TSYS Voice Authorization service will provide either an approval code or a decline response, per the issuing bank of the credit card. **Make sure to keep a record of the authorization number for later input into the terminal** 6. To enter the transaction into your terminal, you will input the approval code and full credit card number as an “offline/force” transaction.
