Installation Instruction for Decoder of HP
DesignJet 1050c 1055cm 5000 5500
Below is the picture of the decoder, it has 2 cable slots at left and right side.
The small slot is for HP DesignJet 1050c/1055cm, the bigger slot is for HP
DesignJet 5000 5500. Below the small slot, there is a jumper area you should pay attention to as well.

1. Firstly you need turn off the printer, open the back cover.
2. There is a cable behind the HP DesignJet that connects the printer main board and the ink cartridges (or the CISS). When install this decoder, unplug the end that connects the ink cartridges and plug into the respective slot per your model. The other end still plugs in the main board without changing.
3. Then you need to set the jumper to the correct position - there are 4 options: 5000 DYE, 5000 UV, 105x, 5100. Please position the jumper (the small black part applies on the 2 pins of the jumper area) on the correct option you want to use.
4. Now you have done the installation. Restart the printer, with the decoder, your printer will bypass the checking of the ink cartridge. So you can swap between different ink types easily. You can also use compatible ink cartridges without any problem. http://www.donparts.com
