Setting up a Hosted Microsoft Exchange Basic account in Windows 8 Mail
1. Click on Start
2. Click on the Mail tile.
3. Click on the option to View all in Settings in the bottom left corner of the screen.

4. The “Add an account” window will slide out from the right. Click ‘Other account.’
5. Select IMAP (Windows 8 Mail does not support POP). Click Connect

6. Click ‘Show more details’
7. Enter your account information.
Incoming (IMAP) email server: mail.cbeyond.com Port: 143
Leave ‘Incoming server requires SSL’ unchecked.
Outgoing (SMTP) email server: smtp.cbeyond.com Port: 587
Leave ‘Outgoing server requires SSL’ unchecked.
Check the options ‘Outgoing server requires authentication’ and ‘Use the same username and
password to send and receive email.’

Click Connect.

8. You can now use Windows 8 Mail.
a. If you notice troubles sending or receiving mail go back into your mail settings to make
sure your SSL settings and port numbers weren’t reset.
