2. INSTALLATION OF THE COMPONENTS OF THE IMMOBILIZER.
Vehicle immobilizer 'KODINIS’ is designed for all types of vehicles (except cabriolets) with petrol or diesel engines, 12V negative earth batteries.
Immobilizer must be installed inside the vehicle passenger compartment, in difficult access area as recommended by the wiring instructions supplied by manufacturer.
Manufacturer of the immobilizer is recommending the following: a) selecting a qualified installer of vehicle alarm systems; b) mounting system unit in place free from penetration of moisture and other corrosion - causing materials, as far away as possible from heating elements in the passenger compartment and sources of electromagnetic interference (vehicle computer, conditioner, block of relays); c) avoid mounting system unit directly onto metal parts of vehicle to prevent accumulation of condensate in the system unit; d) mounting system unit in a way wire connectors are going from the bottom side of the unit; e) avoid placing wires adjacent to moving or hot parts of vehicle; f) avoid overloading circuits CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4, L-K of the immobilizer (see section 1).
P
immobilization circuit L-K ……………………………< 15 A
P
outputs C C1, C C2, C C3, C C4………………………...< 0,13 A each
3. SETTING FUNCTIONS OF THE IMMOBILIZER.
Immobilizer 'KODINIS' can incorporate up to 27 system settings (see 7.2 section). Due to these settings 'KODINIS' can be adjusted to some particular vehicle or to country related traditions, or existing requirements for vehicle alarm systems. 'KODINIS' functions are set using PIN (personal identification number), FN (function number) and
SN (setting number) codes. Actions to be performed in the following sequence: a) Turn the ignition OFF, wait for 40 seconds till engine immobilization and immobilizer LED start flashin; b) Enter PIN code (see User Manual section 4.3.); c) If transponder keys does not need to be programmed, wait for 3 seconds with ignition ON till immobilizer LED stops flashing in triple bursts of light and starts flashing rapidly. Within 80 seconds following the PIN code entry enter the FN number of the function you want to change. Short flash of buzzer signal indicates correct FN entry.
No flashing means either incorrect FN or dedicated 80 seconds have elapsed;; d) After correct entry of the FN code the system extends control time for 8 minutes. Control time is extended for
8 minutes after every entry of FN, SN entry or changing of SN.
e) If FN code has not been entered due the error, turn the ignition OFF, wait till immobilizator LED starts flashing rapidly and enter the new FN; f) If FN code has not been entered due to elapsed time, immobilizer will turn to engine immobilization emergency cutoff (service mode), which is indicated in quadruple immobilizator LED flashes. Actions are repeated starting from 3b section; g) FN function setting SN is checked with ignition ON. Briefly set pre-programmed transponder key to the inductive antenna and count the short buzzer signals. The number o f buzzer signals corresponds to SN value; h) FN function setting SN is changed with ignition ON. Set the pre-programmed transponder key to the inductive antenna, count the short buzzer signals till the wished SN value and set the key back. Within 2-3 seconds wait till buzzer signal which confirms SN changing; i) After every SN changing check SN setting as described in article "3g”.
j) For leaving or setting changing function swaping to work mode enter FN=11.

7. SUMMARY OF IMMOBILIZER FUNCTION SETTINGS.
7.1. MARKED CELLS MEANS:
F.N.1 - factory settings (for EU coutries and for countries invoked Regulation No. 97);
F.N.2 - other factory settings;
EU - settings meets the European Directive requirements. It is allowed to choose settings that do not meet the
European Directive requirements. In this case the system is considered having no confirmity certificate, so it is imperative to cross out the approval number in the installation certificate.

Function: IMMOBILIZER TYPE*.
With immobilization ON ignition can not be turned ON. Engine is immobilized after 40 seconds when turning ignition OFF. Engine immobilization is turned OFF by setting transpondent key to inductive antenna.
With immobilization ON ignition can not be turned ON. 'Anti-carjack', t riggered upon ignition turn ON or door opening with ignition ON.
When 30 seconds pass after 'anti-carjack' triggering immobilizer warns in short frequent buzzer signals. In 10 seconds warning signal becomes continuous, “mild” gradual engine immobilization starts (FN=23, SN=3). 15 seconds more after the warning signal is turned off and engine immobilization mode is turned on (FN=23, SN=1, SN=3) or only with ignition OFF warning signal is turned off and engine immobilization mode is turned on (FN=23, SN=2). If FN=52, FN=53 in functions setting of SN=2 the warning signal (while continuous buzzer signal) is transmitted to CC2, CC3. It can be used for siren and direction indicators control. 'Anti-carjack' or engine immobilization can only be quitted according to setting FN=61. To quit 'Anti-carjack’ is possible at any time (except FN=61, SN=4).
With immobilization ON engine can be turned ON but with 40 second engine immobilization countdown. 'Anti-carjack', triggered upon ignition turn ON or door opening with ignition ON. If FN=52, FN=53 in functions setting of SN=2 the warning signal
(while continuous buzzer signal) is transmitted to CC2, CC3. It can be used for siren and direction indicators control. 'Anti-carjack' or engine immobilization can only be quitted according to setting FN=61. To quit 'Anti-carjack' is possible at any time (except FN=61, SN=4).
Function: ENGINE IMMOBILIZATION WITH 'ANTI-CARJACK' FUNCTION ON.
With 40 seconds elapsed since 'Anti-Carjack' triggering, starts warning with short frequent buzzer signals. After 10 seconds warning signal becomes continuous. After other 15 seconds, the warning signal is turned off, engine immobilization is turned on. If 'anti-carjack' quitting is not given, turning ignition on and disabling engine immobilization gives warning signal and engine immobilization again (except FN=61 SN=4)
With 30 seconds elapsed since 'Anti-Carjack' triggering, starts warning in short frequent buzzer signals. After 10 seconds warning signal becomes continuous. With ignition OFF warning signal is turned off and engine immobilization is turned on. If 'anti-carjack' quitting is not given, turning ignition on and disabling engine immobilization gives warning signal and engine immobilization again(except FN=61, SN=4).
With 30 seconds elapsed since 'Anti-Carjack' triggering, starts warning in short frequent buzzer signals. After 10 seconds warning signal becomes continuous, starts “mild” gradual engine immobilization using CC1 circuit. 15 seconds more after warning signal is turned off, engine immobilization is turned on. If 'anti-carjack' quitting is not given, turning ignition on and disabling engine immobilization gives warning signal and engine immobilization (except FN=61, SN=4).

* NOTE: 1. If chosen immobilizer is with protection from ‘anti-carjack’ function (FN=22, SN=2, SN=3):
1) transponder key is automatically read as on FN=71, SN=1;
2) automatically purpose of CC2/CC3 as on FN=52, SN=2 / FN=53, SN=2;
3) these settings can not be changed (though when checking immobilizer informs about former function settings).
2. If chosen immobilizer meets EU Directive requirements and has no protection from ‘anti-carjack’ function
(FN=22, SN=1), settings linked with 'anti-carjack' function do not work.
