Powerline ist eine intelligente und sichere Technologie,
mit der Sie einfach, schnell und preiswert ein Heimnetz-
werk über das Stromnetz aufbauen, ohne erst eine teure
und lästige Verkabelung durchführen zu müssen. Dabei
müssen sich Leistungsdaten und Installationsaufwand
nicht hinter den traditionellen Methoden verstecken.
Ganz im Gegenteil: Mit Powerline erreichen Sie ähnliche
Geschwindigkeiten wie mit anderen LAN Technologien —
aber die Installation ist im Handumdrehen erledigt!

Mit dem Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter
können Sie schnell und einfach Verbindungen zwischen
WLAN, Powerline und LAN herstellen:
* Als WLAN-Access-Point stellt der Adapter die
Kommunikation zwischen Ihren WLAN-Geráten und
einem bestehenden LAN- oder Powerline-Netzwerk
her. Auf diese Weise können Sie beispielsweise im
Handumdrehen Ihr Funknetzwerk auch auf solche
Räume erweitern, die sonst nicht drahtlos erreichbar
wären.
* Als Powerline-Gerát verfiigt der Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter iiber drei LAN-Buchsen,
um drei Netzwerkgeréte direkt mit dem Powerline zu
verbinden.
* Durch die Kombination der Standards LAN, Powerline
und WLAN werden Sie dabei vollkommen unabhängig
von vorhandenen Netzwerksteckdosen. Stattdessen
können Sie alle Ihre Geräte völlig frei entweder über
eine Stromsteckdose, per LAN oder per Funk

Der Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter ist
ein WLAN-Access- Point und stellt per Funk anderen
Client-Geräten wie Laptops, IP-Radios oder IP-Telefone
das über die Steckdose angeschlossene Powerline-
Netzwerk zur Verfügung.
Dies ist besonders praktisch, wenn sich nicht alle Client-
Stationen im Sendebereich einer WLAN-Sendestation
befinden, beispielsweise weil dicke Betonwände die
Übertragung stören. Mit Powerline lassen sich jedoch
verschiedene Räume über das Stromnetz problemlos
erschließen. Und dank eines Hama 200 Mbps Powerline
11N WLAN Adapter können Sie schnell und einfach jede

Inbetriebnahme Ihres Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter. Wir beschreiben Funktionen sowie den
Anschluss des Gerätes. Des Weiteren stellen wir Ihnen
die Konfigurationsoberfläche des Adapters kurz vor und
führen Sie anschließend durch dessen Einrichtung.

Beachten Sie, dass Ihr Computer bzw. das jeweilige
Gerät über eine Netzwerkkarte bzw. einen Netz-
werkadapter mit Netzwerkschnittstelle verfügen
muss.
Beachten Sie, dass Powerline-Geräte welche bis
zu 14 Mbit/s oder 85 Mbit/s schnell und mit Intellon
Chip ausgestattet sind mit den Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline Adapter im gleichen Stromnetz ohne
gegenseitige Stórungen betrieben werden, aber
nicht direkt miteinander kommunizieren können.
Zum Aufbau eines Powerline 200 AV-Netzwerkes
benötigen Sie mindestens zwei Hama Powerline
200 Mbps AV-Geräte ( Artikel Nr. 53141, 53142).

Mit dem WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)-
Verschlüsselungstaster sichern Sie Ihr WLAN-
& Reset
Der Reset-Taster (seitlich am Gehäuse) hat zwei
verschiedene Funktionen:
e Das Gerät startet neu, wenn Sie den Reset- Taster
kürzer als 10 Sekunden drücken.
* Um die Konfiguration des Hama 200 Mbps Powerline
11№ WLAN Adapter in den Auslieferungszustand
zurück zu versetzen, drücken Sie den Reset-Taster
länger als 10 Sekunden. Beachten Sie, dass alle bereits
vorgenommenen Einstellungen hierbei verloren gehen!
Der Reset-Taster kann mit Hilfe der Spitze eines
Kugelschreibers gedrückt werden.
3.2.2 Netzwerkanschlüsse
Netzwerk per Knopfdruck.
WPS ist ein von der Wi-Fi Alliance entwickelter
Uber die drei LAN-Anschliisse kdnnen PCs oder andere
Netzwerkgeréte iiber handelsübliche Netzwerkkabel
mit den Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter
Verschliisselungsstandard zur Erhóhung der
Sicherheit in einem WLAN-Heimnetzwerk. Das
Ziel von WPS ist es, das Hinzufiigen von Geráten
in ein bestehendes Netzwerk zu vereinfachen.
Ausfiihrlichere Informationen dazu finden Sie im
Kapitel 4.5.4 WiFi Protected Setup (WPS).

Uber den Powerline - Verschliisselungstaster
sichern Sie Ihr Powerline-Netzwerk per
Knopfdruck:
* Um Ihr Powerline 200 AV-Netzwerk individuell zu
verschliisseln, drticken Sie an den angeschlossenen
Geráten — innerhalb von 2 Minuten — jeden
Verschliisselungsknopf ca. 1 Sekunde.
* Um ein Powerline 200 AV-Gerät aus Ihrem Netzwerk
zu entfernen, driicken Sie mindestens 10 Sekunden den
Verschliisselungsknopf des entsprechenden Gerátes.

1. Schließen Sie den Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter über ein Netzwerkkabel an einen
Netzwerkanschluss Ihres eingeschalteten Computers
oder an ein anderes Netzwerkgerät an.
2. Stecken Sie den Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter in eine Wandsteckdose.

individuell zu sichern, fahren Sie mit der Konfiguration
fort. Lesen Sie dazu in den Kapiteln 4 Netzwerk-
konfiguration und 5 Sicherheit im Powerline Netzwerk
weiter.
4. Netzwerkkonfiguration
Der Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter
verfügt über eine eingebaute Konfigurationsober-
fläche, die mit einem Standard-Webbrowser oder eines
Programmes aufgerufen werden kann. Hier lassen sich
die meisten Einstellungen für den Betrieb des Gerätes
anpassen. Lediglich die erstmalige Integration des Hama
200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter in ein
bestehendes Powerline-Netzwerk sollten Sie mit Hilfe
Verschlüsselungsknopfes (siehe Kapitel 5 Sicherheit im
Powerline Netzwerke) vornehmen.
4.1 Eingebaute Konfigurationsoberfläche aufrufen
Um die Konfigurationsoberfläche aufrufen zu können,
müssen Sie das für Betriebssystem vorgesehene Soft-
ware von der beiliegenden CD-ROM installieren.
4.2 Software Installation
Windows
Mit Hilfe des Installationsassistenten installieren Sie
die Software zur Konfiguration des Adapters unter dem
Windows-Betriebssystem:
Der HomePlug-Konfigurationsassistent findet alle
erreichbaren PLC-Adapter in Ihrem PLC-Netzwerk und
verschlüsselt Ihr PLC-Netzwerk individuell.
Die Anwendung HomePlug Wireless Konfiguration
startet die eingebaute Konfigurationsoberfläche Ihres
„Produktname”. Ausführliche Informationen zur
Konfigurationsoberfläche finden Sie im Kapitel ,
Netzwerkkonfiguration'.
1. Um die Software zu installieren, legen Sie die
mitgelieferte CD-ROM in das CD-Laufwerk Ihres
Computers und folgen den Anweisungen des
Installationsassistenten.
Sie kinnen wáhrend des Installationsvorgangs
entscheiden, ob Sie alle Software-Komponenten
(Standardinstallation), oder nur einige davon
(Benutzerdefinierte Installation), installieren möchten.
Um die Funktionsweise Ihrer Geräte optimal auszunutzen,
empfehlen wir die vollständige Installation aller
Anwendungen.

Folgen Sie nun den Anweisungen der Menüs, damit Sie
nach der erfolgreichen Installation des Programmes für
Ihr jeweiliges Betriebssystem die eingebaute
Konfigurationsoberfläche aufrufen können.
Rufen Sie die eingebaute Online-Konfigurationsoberfläche
des Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapters mit
Hilfe des Programmes Hama Powerline Starter unter
Start -> Alle Programme -> HomePlug-> HomePlug
Wireless Konfiguration auf.
Standardmäßig gelangen Sie direkt auf die
Konfigurationsoberfläche. Wurde jedoch über die
Option Gerätekonfiguration -> Sicherheit ein
Login-Kennwort vereinbart, müssen Sie dieses
vorher eingeben. Mehr dazu lesen Sie unter
4.4.1 Sicherheit.
4.2.1 Menübeschreibung
Die Bedienung der Konfigurationsoberfläche erweist sich
dank des logischen Menü-Aufbaus als benutzerfreund-
lich und logisch. Alle Menüfunktionen werden auf der
entsprechenden Oberfläche als auch im dazugehörigen
Kapitels des Handbuches beschrieben. Die Reihenfolge
der Beschreibung im Handbuch richtet sich nach der
Menüstruktur.
Klicken Sie Speichern, um die Einstellungen des

Um alle verbundenen Powerline-Geráte anzeigen zu
lassen, klicken Sie entweder auf das Betriebs-
bereitschafts-Symbol oder auf den Pfeil Powerline-
Geráte. Jeder verbundene Powerline Adapter, egal ob
lokal angeschlossen oder im Netzwerk, wird mit seiner
MAC-Adresse angezeigt. Per Klick auf das Schloss-
Symbol gelangen Sie direkt zu den Powerline-

4.4.1 Sicherheit

Standardmäßig ist die eingebaute Konfigurations-
oberfläche des Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter nicht mit einem Kennwort
geschützt. Sie sollten jedoch nach der Installation
des Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter
diesen Schutz durch Vergabe eines Kennwortes
aktivieren, um den Zugriff durch Dritte
auszuschließen.
Geben Sie dazu zunächst (sofern vorhanden) das aktuelle
und anschließend zweimal das gewünschte neue
Kennwort ein. Die Konfigurationsoberfläche ist nun
durch Ihr individuelles Kennwort vor unbefugtem Zugriff
geschützt!

4.4.2 Netzwerkeinstellungen
Als Komponente Ihres Heimnetzwerks kommuniziert auch
der Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter über
das TCP/IP Protokoll. Die dazu benötigte IP-Adresse kann
entweder statisch manuell eingetragen oder automatisch
von einem DHCP-Server bezogen werden.
Im Auslieferungszustand ist die Option Netzwerk-
einstellungen automatisch von einem DHCP-Server
beziehen aktiviert.
Ist bereits ein DHCP-Server zur Vergabe von IP-Adressen
im Netzwerk vorhanden, sollten Sie die Option
Netzwerkeinstellungen automatisch von einem DHCP-
Server beziehen aktiviert lassen, damit das Hama 200
Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter automatisch eine
Adresse von diesem erhält.
Sie können auch eine statische IP-Adresse vergeben,
indem Sie unter IP-Adresse (z. B. ,192.168.0.250")
und Netzmaske (z. B. 255.255.255.0) Einträge vornehmen.
Sollten Sie die IP-Adresse Ihres Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter einmal vergessen
haben, starten Sie den Hama Powerline Starter,
um das Gerät im Netzwerk zu finden. Verfahren

Sie können Ihr Funimetawerk mittels WPS konfigurieren.
Es gibt drei verschiedene Methoden die WLAN-Funktion
ein- bzw. auszuschalten:
e Drücken Sie einfach den ON/OFF-Taster auf der
Vorderseite des Gerátes.
* Verwenden Sie auf der Konfigurationsoberfláche unter
WLAN-Konfiguration die Schaltfliche WLAN
einschalten bzw. WLAN ausschalten.
e Aktivieren Sie die WLAN-Zeitsteuerung. Lesen Sie dazu
im Kapitel 4.5.3 WLAN-Zeitsteuerung nach.
Der Betriebszustand des Gerátes wird unter 4.3
Statusilbersicht angezeigt.
4.5.1 Access-Point
Da der Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter als
Access-Point fungiert, müssen Sie verschiedene
Parameter für Ihr Funknetzwerk konfigurieren. Wenn Sie
möchten, können Sie den WLAN-Teil Ihres Hama 200
Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter vollständig
abschalten, z.B. wenn Sie ihn ausschließlich als
einfachen Powerline - Adapter über die eingebauten
Ethernet-Anschlüsse betreiben wollen. Schalten Sie dazu
unter Statusübersicht -> WLAN-Stationen die Option
WLAN aktivieren aus oder drücken Sie einfach den
WLAN-On/OFF-Taster auf dem Geháuse.
Denken Sie daran, dass Sie nach dem Speichern
dieser Einstellung auch selbst von einer
bestehenden Funkverbindung zum Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter getrennt werden.
Konfigurieren Sie das Gerät in diesem Fall über
Ethernet oder Powerline.
Beachten Sie bei der Aktivierung der Verschlüsselung,
dass die WLAN-Einstellungen (SSID, Verschlüsselungs-
modus und Verschlüsselungskennwort) des Access-
Points und die der Clients immer übereinstimmen, da Sie
sonst Geräte aus Ihrem Netzwerk (ungewollt)
ausschließen.
Im Auslieferungszustand des Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter ist die
WLAN Funktion eingeschaltet und die WLAN
Verschliisselung WPA2 mit der Security-ID als
Standard-WLAN-Schliissel eingestellt. Sie finden
den 16-stelligen Sicherheitscode auf dem Etikett
auf der Riickseite des Geháuses.

Für den Betrieb als Access-Point muss ein (Sende-)Kanal
festgelegt sein. Es stehen 13 Kanäle zur Verfügung.
Wir empfehlen, die Standardeinstellung Auto
beizubehalten, da der Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter in dieser Einstellung regelmäßig und
selbstständig die Kanalwahl durchführt. D. h., meldet sich
die letzte verbundene Station ab, wird sofort ein
geeigneter Kanal gesucht.

Sind keine Stationen verbunden, fiihrt das Gerát die
automatische Kanalwahl alle 15 Minuten durch. Die SSID
legt den Namen Ihres Funknetzwerks fest. Sie können
diesen Namen beim Einwählen ins WLAN sehen und so
das korrekte Teilnetzwerk identifizieren. Wenn Sie die
Option SSID verstecken aktivieren, bleibt Ihr Funk-
netzwerk unsichtbar. In diesem Fall müssen potentielle
Netzwerkteilnehmer die exakte SSID kennen und manuell
eingeben, um eine Verbindung aufbauen zu können.
Einige WLAN-Karten haben Schwierigkeiten, sich
mit solchen unsichtbaren Funknetzwerken zu
verbinden. Sollte das Verbinden mit einer
versteckten SSID Probleme bereiten, sollten Sie
zunächst versuchen, die Verbindung bei sichtbarer
SSID aufzubauen und diese erst anschließend zu
verstecken.
Ohne Verschlüsselung werden nicht nur alle Daten von
den Client-Computern zum Hama 200 Mbps Powerline
11N WLAN Adapter in Ihrem Funknetzwerk ungeschützt
übertragen, es wird auch kein Kennwort zur Verbindung
verlangt. Wurden keine weiteren Sicherheitsmaßnahmen,
wie beispielsweise ein WLAN-Filter (siehe Kapitel 4.5.2
WLAN-Filter), eingerichtet, können Dritte jederzeit Zugriff
auf Ihr Netzwerk erhalten und beispielsweise Ihre Inter-
netverbindung mitbenutzen. In der Regel geschieht dies,
ohne dass Sie dies bemerken.
Zur Sicherung der Datenübertragung in Ihrem Funknetz-
werk stehen zwei Sicherheitsstandards zur Verfügung.
e Der ältere und schwächere Standard WEP kann die
Kommunikation entweder mit Hilfe eines Schlüssels
aus 10 Zeichen oder aus 26 Zeichen schützen. Geben
Sie dazu eine Folge aus hexadezimalen Zeichen mit
der entsprechenden Anzahl von Zeichen in das Feld
Schlüssel ein.
® Die moderneren Verfahren WPA und WPA2
(Wi-Fi Protected Access) erlauben individuelle
Schlüssel aus Buchstaben und Zahlen mit einer Länge
von bis zu 63 Zeichen. Dieser kann von Ihnen einfach
über die Tastatur eingegeben werden, ohne dass er
vorher (wie bei WEP) ins Hexadezimal- Format
umgerechnet werden muss. Unter Modus können Sie
den Zugriff von Clients auf das Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter auf das von Ihnen
gewählte Verfahren einschränken.
Speichern Sie alle geänderten Einstellungen, bevor Sie
diesen Konfigurationsbereich wieder verlassen.
Sie sollten die Verbindungen in Ihrem WLAN immer
verschlüsseln. Ansonsten könnte jeder In
Funkreichweite in Ihr Heimnetzwerk eindringen
und beispielsweise Ihre Internetverbindung
mitbenutzen. Wählen Sie nach Möglichkeit immer
die bessere WPA2-Verschlüsselungsmethode.
Benutzen Sie WEP nur dann, wenn eins Ihrer
drahtlosen Endgeräte keinen besseren Standard
beherrscht.

Um den WLAN-Filter zu verwenden, aktivieren Sie die
Option Filter einschalten. Sie können nun verschiedene
Netzwerkgeräte anhand ihrer sogenannten MAC Adresse
für den Zugriff auf Ihr Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter eintragen. Jeden Eintrag bestätigen Sie
mit Hinzufügen. Mit Ihrem Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter verbundene Netzwerkgeräte bzw.
Stationen werden automatisch gelistet, d. h., um eine
bereits verbundene Station für den Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter freizugeben, wählen Sie
einfach die MAC-Adresse des jeweiligen Gerätes aus und
bestätigen mit Hinzufügen. Diese erscheint dann unter
Freigegebene WLAN-Stationen. Um eine freigegebene
Station zu entfernen, wählen Sie deren MAC Adresse aus
und bestätigen mit Löschen.
Die MAC-Adresse bezeichnet die Hardware-
Schnittstelle jedes einzelnen Netzwerkgerätes
eindeutig (z.B. die WLAN-Karte eines Computers
oder die Ethernet-Schnittstelle eines Druckers).
Sie besteht aus sechs zweistelligen
Hexadezimalzahlen, die jeweils mit Doppelpunkten
voneinander getrennt sind (z.B. 00:0B:3B:37:9D:C4).
Sie finden die MAC-Adresse auf dem Geháuse des
Geráts
Die MAC-Adresse eines Windows-PCs kónnen Sie
leicht ermitteln, indem Sie das Fenster mit der Eingabe-
aufforderung unter Start -> Alle Programme -> Zubehór ->
Eingabeaufforderung öffnen. Geben Sie hier den Befehl
IPCONFIG /ALL ein. Die MAC-Adresse wird unter der
Bezeichnung Physikalische Adresse angezeigt.
Vergessen Sie nicht, nach der Eingabe der MAC-
Adressen die Schaltfläche Speichern anzuklicken.
Sollte die eingetragenen Werte fehlerhaft sein
(z.B. weil die Doppelpunkte fehlen), wird eine
entsprechende Fehlermeldung angezeigt.
Denken Sie daran, dass Sie auch die MAC-Adresse
Ihres eigenen Computers eingeben, falls Sie nicht
über die Ethernet-Schnittstelle, sondern über
WLAN mit dem Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter verbunden sind. Ansonsten sperren
Sie sich durch die Aktivierung des WLAN-Filters
selbst vom Zugriff auf das Gerät über WLAN aus!
4.5.3 WLAN-Zeitsteuerung
Um die WLAN-Zeitsteuerung nutzen zu können,
muss unter Gerätekonfiguration -> Datum und
Uhrzeit die Option Datum und Uhrzeit automatisch
beziehen aktiviert sein. Eine aktive Internet-
verbindung ist außerdem erforderlich.
(siehe 4.4.4 Zeitserver)
Um die WLAN-Zeitsteuerung nutzen zu können, aktivieren
Sie die Option Zeitsteuerung aktivieren. Die Zeitsteuerung
schaltet Ihr Funknetzwerk zu bestimmten Tageszeiten
automatisch an bzw. ab.
Pro Wochentag können Sie zwei Zeiträume definieren, In
denen Ihr Funknetzwerk eingeschaltet ist. Die Zeit-
steuerung schaltet das Funknetzwerk daraufhin
automatisch an bzw. ab.
Beachten Sie, dass solange der Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter verbundene
Stationen registriert, bleibt das Funknetzwerk
eingeschaltet. Das Funknetzwerk wird erst
abgeschaltet, wenn die letzte Station sich
abgemeldet hat.

4.5.4 WiFi Protected Setup (WPS)
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) ist ein von der internationa-
len Wi-Fi Alliance entwickelter Verschliisselungsstandard
zur einfachen und schnellen Einrichtung eines sicheren
Funknetzwerks. Die Sicherheitsschliissel der jeweiligen
WLAN-Station werden dabei automatisch und dauerhaft
an die andere(n) WLAN-Station(en) des Funknetzwerks
übermittelt. Das Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter bietet zwei verschiedene Varianten zur
Übermittlung dieser Sicherheitsschlüssel:

Starten Sie den Verschliisselungsvorgang am Hama

PIN-Variante sicher miteinander zu verbinden, geben

4.6.1 Konfiguration zuriicksetzen
Mit dem Befehl Verwaltung -> Konfiguration zuriick-
setzen wird das Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter wieder in den urspriinglichen Auslieferungs-
zustand versetzt. Ihre persónlichen Einstellungen gehen
dabei verloren. Das zuletzt vergebene Powerline-
Kennwort fiir das Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter wird ebenfalls auf das Powerline Standard-
Kennwort HomePlugAV zurickgesetzt. Um Ihr Powerline
200 AV-Netzwerk erneut individuell zu sichern,
konfigurieren Sie dieses anschlieBend per Verschliisse-
lungsknopf (siehe 5 Sicherheit im Powerline) neu.

Alle aktiven Konfigurationseinstellungen lassen sich zu

als Datei ablegen und wieder in den Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter laden. Auf diese Weise
können Sie beispielsweise Konfigurationen für unter-
schiedliche Netzwerkumgebungen erzeugen, mit denen Sie
das Gerät schnell und einfach einrichten können.
4.6.2 Konfigurationsdatei speichern
Um die aktive Konfiguration als Datei auf Ihrem Computer
zu speichern, wählen Sie die entsprechende
Schaltfläche im Bereich Verwaltung -> Konfigurations-
datei speichern. Geben Sie dann einen Speicherort
und einen Namen für die Einstellungsdatei an.

3. Starten Sie den Aktualisierungsvorgang dann mit 5.1 Powerline - Netzwerk per Knopfdruckverschliisseln
der Schaltfläche Firmware aktualisieren. Nach der

Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter neugestartet.
Zur Verschlüsselung eines Powerline 200 AV-Netzwerkes,
in dem alle zugehörigen Geräte mit Verschlüsselungs-
knopf ausgestattet sind, bedienen Sie sich einfach des am
Gerät befindlichen Verschlüsselungsknopfes.
Durch Drücken dieses Knopfes wird Ihr Powerline 200
AV-Netzwerk mittels eines Zufallskennwortes gesichert.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Aktualisierungsvorgang
nicht unterbrochen wird. Verbinden Sie Ihren
Computer dazu am besten über Powerline oder LAN
mit dem Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter und nicht über WLAN.
5. Sicherheit im Powerline Netzwerk
Bevor Sie den Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter in Ihrem Powerline Netzwerk einsetzen können,
müssen Sie Ihn zunächst mit anderen Powerline 200 AV-
kompatiblen Adaptern zu einem Heimnetzwerk verbinden.

ausgeschlossen. Um es anschließend in ein anderes
Powerline 200 AV-Netzwerk einzubinden, verfahren Sie
wie oben beschrieben, je nachdem ob Sie ein neues
Netzwerk aufsetzen oder ein bestehendes erweitern
möchten.

Powerline 1T1N WLAN Adapter, you have selected a
HomePlug AV device that combines the benefits of both
the Powerline and WLAN network standards. In addition,
the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline T1N WLAN Adapter is
equipped with three LAN ports for directly connecting
PCs or other network devices. With transfer rates of up
to 200 Mbit/s over Powerline and up to 300 Mbit/s over
WLAN, the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter
enables wireless surfing in every room of your home —
even through thick concrete walls.
1.1.1 About this manual
In Chapter 2 you will learn how to successfully install the
Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter. Chapter
4 provides a detailed look at the possible settings of the
built-in configuration interface and how to establish
a WLAN connection. Chapter 5 provides you with the
instructions you need to connect your Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter to Powerline. Chapter 6,

2. Introduction
Powerline is an intelligent, safe technology that can
be used to set up a home network quickly, easily and
affordably without installing expensive and cumbersome
cable. However, you don't have to sacrifice performance
data and installation time when compared to traditional
methods. Quite the opposite: With Powerline, you can
achieve the same speeds as with other LAN technologies
— but the installation can be completed in no time at all!
2.1 Features of the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter
With the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 1T1N WLAN Adapter,
you can quickly and easily establish connections between
WLAN, Powerline and LAN:
* As a WLAN access point, the adapter connects your
WLAN devices to an existing LAN or Powerline
network. In this way, for example, you can extend
your wireless network to a room that would otherwise
be unreachable with wireless technology — and you can
do so in no time at all.
* Asa Powerline device, the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline
11N WLAN Adapter is equipped with three LAN ports to
connect three network devices directly to the
Powerline network.
* Through the combination of LAN, Powerline and WLAN
standards, you can be completely independent of
existing network sockets. Instead, you can connect all
of your devices with one another individually either
via a power plug, via LAN or via wireless connection.
By simply plugging your Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter into a different socket, you can expand
or reconfigure your home network at any time, e.g. by
taking the adapter with you into another room to
continue working.
2.2 Sample use
The Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11TN WLAN Adapter is a
WLAN access point that enables other client devices —
such as laptops, IP radios or IP telephones — to access
the Powerline network connected to the electrical socket
via wireless LAN.
This is particularly practical when some of the client
stations are located outside of the transmission range of
a WLAN access point due to thick concrete walls that
disrupt transmission, for example. With Powerline, you
can easily expand your network to include different rooms
using the power supply network. And thanks to the Hama
200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter, you can quickly
and easily transform any electrical socket into a WLAN
connection with excellent reception quality.

WPS
With the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) encryption
button, you can secure your WLAN network quickly
and easily.
WPS is an encryption standard developed by the
Wi-Fi Alliance to increase the security in a WLAN
home network. The goal of WPS is to make it easier
to add devices to an existing network. For more
information about this standard, see section 4.5.4,
“Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)”.
Powerline
With the Powerline encryption button, you can
secure your Powerline network quickly and easily:
* To customise the encryption of your Powerline 200 AV
network, press and hold the encryption button on each
connected device for approx. 1 second. This procedure
must be completed within two minutes.
* To remove a Powerline 200 AV device from your
network, press and hold the encryption button of the
corresponding device for at least 10 seconds.
For more information about Powerline encryption,
see Chapter 5, “Security in the Powerline
Network”.
& Reset
The reset button (on the side of the casing) has two
different functions:
e If you press and hold the reset button for less than
10 seconds, the device is restarted.
* To reset the configuration of the Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter to the original factory
settings, press and hold the reset button for longer
than 10 seconds. Note that this will erase all of your
previous settings.
The reset button can be pressed using the tip
of a pen.
3.22 Network connections
The three LAN connections can be used to connect PCs
or other network devices to the Hama 200 Mbps Power-
line TIN WLAN Adapter using standard network cable.
3.23 WLAN antennas
The WLAN antennas on the inside of the device are used
to connect to other network devices wirelessly.
3.3 Connecting the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter
In this section, we will you show you how to connect
the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter to a
computer or other network device.
1. Connect the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter to a network connection on your computer
(computer must be switched on) or to another network
device using a network cable.
2. Plug the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter into an electrical socket.
The electrical socket must be located within the
range of the connected network device and it
must be easily accessible. To switch off the Hama
200 Mbps Powerline 11N Adapter or disconnect it
from the power supply network, simply unplug the
device.

3. After you have connected at least two Powerline
200 AV-compatible adapters as described, the setup for
your Powerline 200 AV network is complete. To
customise the security of your network, begin the
configuration process. To do this, continue following
the instructions in Chapter 4, “Network Configuration”
and Chapter 5, “Security in the Powerline Network”.
4. Network Configuration
The Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter is
equipped with a built-in configuration interface which can
be opened using a standard Web browser or a program.
Here, you can make most of the settings for operating
the device. If you are integrating the Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter into an existing Powerline
network for the first time, this should be completed with
the help of the encryption button (see Chapter 5, “Security
in Powerline Networks”).
4.1 Opening the built-in configuration interface
In order to open the configuration interface, you must
install the software for your operating system, which
can be found on the CD-ROM provided.
4.2 Installing the software
Windows
On the Windows operating system, install the software for
configuring the adapter using the installation wizard:
The HomePlug configuration wizard finds all available
PLC adapters on its PLC network and customises the
encryption of your PLC network.
The application “HomePlug Wireless Configuration”
opens the built-in configuration interface of your
device. For more information about the configuration
interface, see Chapter 4, “Network Configuration”.
1. To install the software, insert the included CD-ROM
into the CD drive of your computer and follow the
instructions of the installation wizard.
During the installation procedure, you can decide
whether you would like to install all software components
(standard installation) or only some of these compon-
ents (custom installation). To get the most use out of the
functions of your devices, we recommend the complete
installation of all applications.
2. You can find the installed software applications under
Start -> All Programs -> HomePlug.
Mac (0S X)
The configuration software can be found in the directory
Applications -> mac.
Linux (Ubuntu)
The configuration software can be found in the directory
Software -> linux.
Now follow the menu instructions to open the configura-
tion interface for your operating system after the program
has been successfully installed.
Open the built-in online configuration interface of the
Hama 200 Mbps Powerline TIN WLAN Adapter using the
program Hama Powerline Starter, which can be found
under Start -> All Programs -> HomePlug -> HomePlug
Wireless Configuration.
The configuration interface will open up directly as
standard. If you enter a login password using the
option Device Configuration -> Security, you must
first enter this password. For more information see
4.4.1, “Security”.
4.21 Description of menu
Thanks to the logical menu structure, operation of the
configuration interface is user-friendly and logical. All
menu functions are described on the corresponding
interface as well as in the applicable section of the
manual. The order of the descriptions in the manual is
organised according to the menu structure.
Click “Save” to save the settings of the current area of the
configuration interface. Click “Back” to close the current
area of the configuration interface.
Select the desired language in the language selection list.

4.3.1 Powerline status
To display all connected Powerline devices, click on the

4.4.1 Security
In this area, you can set a login password to access the
configuration interface of the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline
11N WLAN Adapter.
The built-in configuration interface of the Hama
200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter is not
password-protected as standard. However, we
recommend that you activate this feature following
the installation of the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline
11N WLAN Adapter by setting a password. This will
protect the software from unauthorised access by
third parties.
If you already have a password, enter the current pass-
word and then enter the new password twice. The confi-
guration interface is now protected against unauthorised
access using your custom password.

Enter “admin” in the “User Name” field and then enter
your password in the “Password” field.
The user name “admin” cannot be changed.
4.4.2 Network settings
As a component of your home network, the Hama 200
Mbps Powerline 1T1N WLAN Adapter also communicates
using the TCP/IP protocol. The required IP address
can either be entered manually (static) or assigned
automatically by a DHCP server.
In the original factory settings, the option “Network
settings assigned automatically by a DHCP Server”
Is activated.
If a DHCP server (for assigning IP addresses) is available
in the network, we recommend that you activate the
option “Network settings assigned automatically by a
DHCP Server”. This way, the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline
11N WLAN Adapter automatically receives an address
from the DHCP server.
You can also assign a static IP address by making entries
under “IP Address” (e.g. “192.168.0.250")
and “Subnet Mask” (e.g. “255.255.255.0").
If you forget the IP address of your Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter, open the Hama
Powerline Starter to find the device in the network.
Proceed as described in section 4.1, “Opening the
built-in configuration interface”.

4.4.4 Time server
A time server is a server on the Internet which transmits
the exact time. Most time servers are coupled with a
wireless clock.
To see which Internet time server is communicating
with your computer, simply click on the clock in
lower right-hand corner of your screen and select
the “Internet Time” tab.

Activate the option “Automatically synchronise with an
Internet time server” so that the Hama 200 Mbps Power-
line TIN WLAN Adapter can automatically synchronise
the date and time. Select the time zone and the time
server. If you have selected the option “Automatically

You can configure your wireless network via WPS В
There are three different methods of switching the WLAN
function on/off:
* Simply press the ON/OFF button on the front of
the device.
® On the configuration interface, go to “WLAN
Configuration” and click on the button “Switch WLAN
ON/OFF".
e Activate the WLAN timer. For more information, see
section 4.5.3, “WLAN timer”.
The operating status of the device is shown in
section 4.3, “Status overview”.
45.1 Access point
Because the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter functions as an access point, you must configure
different parameters for you wireless network. If you
like, you can switch off the WLAN function of your Hama
200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter completely, e.g.
if you wish to operate the device as a simple Powerline
adapter using the built-in Ethernet connections. Under
Status Overview -> WLAN Stations, deactivate the
“WLAN” option or simply press the WLAN ON/OFF button
on the device casing.
Note that after you have saved these settings, your
wireless connection to the Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter will be terminated.
In this case, you must configure the device via
Ethernet or Powerline.
When activating the encryption, make sure that the
WLAN settings (SSID, encryption mode and encryption
password) of the access point and the client correspond
to one another. Otherwise you may accidently disconnect
devices from your network.
In the original factory settings of the Hama
200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter, the WLAN
function is switched on, the WLAN encryption
protocol is set to “WPA2" and the security ID is set
to “Standard WLAN key”. The 16-digit security
code can be found on the sticker on the back of the
casing.

To operate the device as an access point, you must define
a transmitter channel. Thirteen channels are available.
We recommend keeping the standard “Auto” setting. This
way, the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter
performs the channel selection automatically and on
a regular basis. This means that if the last connected
station is disconnected, the device automatically
searches for a new channel.

If there are no connected stations, the device
automatically carries out the channel search every 15
minutes. The SSID determines the name of your wireless
network. You can view this name when connecting to
the WLAN and thereby identify the correct sub-network.
When you activate the option “Hide SSID,” your wireless
network is not visible. When this option is activated,
potential network users must know the exact SSID and
enter this value manually in order to connect to your
network.
Some WLAN cards have trouble connecting to
hidden wireless networks. If you have difficulties
connecting with a hidden SSID, try to establish a
connection to the SSID while it is visible and then
hide the network once the connection has been
established.
Without encryption, all data transmitted from the client
computers to the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter via your wireless network will be unprotected
and no password will be required to connect to the
network. If you have not set up any additional security
measures, such as a WLAN filter (see section 4.5.2,
“WLAN filters”), third parties will be able to access your
network and use your Internet connection, among other
things. Normally, this occurs without you noticing.
There are two safety standards available for you to
secure data transmission within your wireless network.
* The older and weaker WEP standard protects
communication using either a 10-digit or 26-digit key.
Enter a series of hexadecimal characters with the
corresponding number of characters in the “Key” field.
* The modern WPA and WPAZ2 protocols (Wi-Fi Protected
Access) allow you to enter a custom key with a series
of letters and numbers with up to 63 digits. You can
enter this key using the keyboard without it first having
to be converted into hexadecimal format (as it does
with WEP). Under “Mode” you can limit clients’ access
to the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter
to the protocol that you have selected.
Save all of the settings you have changed before you
navigate away from this configuration area.
We recommend that you encrypt the connections in
your WLAN network. Otherwise, anyone within
wireless range can access your home network
and use your Internet connection, among other
things. When you have the opportunity, always
select the more advanced WPA2 encryption
method. Only use WEP if your wireless end devices
are not equipped to use a better standard.

4.5.2 WLAN filters
In addition to using encryption (see 4.5.1, “Access point”),
you can also secure your wireless network by using a
WLAN filter to limit the access of selected devices to the
Hama 200 Mbps Powerline TIN WLAN Adapter via WLAN.
Even when the encryption is switched off, the device will
not be able to establish a connection.

The WLAN filter should only be used as an
additional option. With the help of this option, you
can limit third party access to your wireless
network. However, without encryption, it is
relatively easy for third parties to intercept all of
your data transmissions.

To use the WLAN filter, activate the “Filter” option. You
can now enable different network devices to access
your Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter
by entering their MAC addresses. Confirm each entry
by clicking “Add”. The network devices and stations
connected to your Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter are listed automatically. In order allow
a connected station to access the Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter, simply select the MAC
address of the corresponding device and confirm by
pressing “Add”. This station is then listed under the
authorised WLAN stations. To remove a station from this
list, select the corresponding MAC address and confirm
by clicking “Remove”.
The MAC address is a unique designation for the
hardware interface of each individual network
device (e.g. the WLAN card of a computer or the
Ethernet interface of a printer). It consists of six
two-digit hexadecimal numbers separated from one
another with a colon (e.g. 00:0B:3B:37:9D:C4). You
can find the MAC addresses on the casing of the
device.
You can easily find the MAC address of a Windows PC
by opening the window with the command prompt under
Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Open Command
Prompt. Here, enter the command “IPCONFIG /ALL". The
MAC address is then displayed under “Physical Address”.
Don't forget to click the “Save” button after entering
the MAC addresses. If the values you have entered are
incorrect (e.g. because a colon is missing), the system
issues a corresponding error message.
Note that if you are connected to the Hama
200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter via WLAN
instead of via the Ethernet interface, you must also
enter the MAC address of your computer.
Otherwise you will not be able to access the device
via WLAN once you have activated the WLAN filter.
45.3 WLAN time control
If you would like to use the WLAN time control,
you must activate the option “Automatically
synchronise with an Internet time server” under
Device Configuration -> Date and Time. An active
Internet connection is also required (see 4.4.4,
“Time server”).
If you would like to use the WLAN timer, activate the
option “Activate time control”. The timer switches your
wireless network on/off at certain times of the day.
For each day of the week, you can define two time periods
for which your wireless network is switched on. The timer
switches your wireless network on/off automatically
based on these settings.
Note that if the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter registers connected stations, the
wireless network remains switched on. The
wireless network is switched off only once the last
station is switched off.

4.5.4 Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is one of the encryption
standards developed by the international Wi-Fi Alliance.
This standard enables you to set up a secure wireless
network quickly and easily. The security keys of each
WLAN station are automatically transferred to the other
WLAN station(s) in the wireless network, which save the
keys. The Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter
offers two different options for transferring this security
key.

Start the encryption procedure of the Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter by:
1. Pressing the WPS button on the front of the device or
2. Pressing the “Configuration” button on the user
interface under WLAN Configuration -> Wi-Fi Protected
Setup (WPS).
Then either press the WPS button on the WLAN station
that you wish to add or click the WPS button on the
configuration interface. The devices then exchange
security keys and establish a secure WLAN connection.
The WLAN LED on the front flashes during the
synchronisation procedure.
WPS using PIN:
1. To connect multiple WLAN stations in your wireless
network with one another using the PIN method, on
the configuration interface, go to WLAN Configuration
-> Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) -> PIN, enter a custom
key and start the encryption procedure by clicking the
“Start configuration” button.
2. Open the configuration interface of the WLAN station
that you wish to add and transfer the selected PIN from
the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 1T1N WLAN Adapter.
Confirm the encryption procedure as described. The
devices exchange security keys and establish a secure
WLAN connection. The WLAN LED on the front flashes
during the synchronisation procedure.

The WPS procedure requires either the WPA or WPA2
encryption standard. For this reason, note the following
automatic settings depending on the encryption standard
used (see also 4.5.1, “Access point”):

4.6.1 Restoring the configuration
You can reset the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter to the original factory settings by selecting the
command Management -> Reset Configuration. Your
personal settings are not lost. The current Powerline
password for the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter is also reset to the Powerline standard password
“HomePlugAV”. To secure your Powerline 200 AV
network, configure the network using the encryption
button (see Chapter 5, “Security in the Powerline
Network”).

All active configuration settings can be transferred to your
computer and stored. These settings are saved as a file
and can then be loaded to the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline

4.6.2 Storing the configuration file
To save the current configuration as a file on your
computer, select the corresponding button in the area
Management -> Configuration File. Select a storage
location and define a name for the configuration file.

4.6.3 Restoring the configuration
You can transfer a configuration file to the Hama
100 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter and activate it
there by selecting Management -> Restore Configuration
File. Select the desired file using the “Browse” button and
start the procedure by clicking the “Restore Configuration
File” button.

4.6.4 Updating the firmware
The firmware of the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter includes the software required to operate
the device. Upon request, Hama offers new versions as a
file for download, for example to adjust existing functions.

1. To update the firmware to the current version, you must
first download the file for the Hama 200 Mbps
Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter onto your computer.
The correct file can be found on the Hama website,
www.hama.de.
2. Go to the configuration dialogue in the area
Management -> Update Firmware. Click on “Browse...”
and select the file that you have downloaded.

3. Start the update process by clicking on the button
“Update Firmware”. After you have successfully
updated the firmware, the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline
11 WLAN Adapter is restarted.
Make sure that the update process is not
interrupted. Then connect your computer to the
Hama 200 Mbps Powerline TIN WLAN Adapter. We
recommend connecting via Powerline or LAN
instead of via WLAN.
5. Security on the Powerline Network
Before you can use the Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N
WLAN Adapter in your Powerline network, you must first
connect the device to other Powerline 200 AV-compatible
adapters to create a home network. Two specific tips are
particularly important here:
* A closed Powerline network is created through the use
a common Powerline password.
* The use of a common Powerline password serves as
an access control measure for the Powerline network
as well as an encryption measure, thereby providing
safety from interception of transmitted data.
You can define the Powerline password automatically
using the encryption button. Note the following basic
information when selection an encryption method:
For Powerline 200 AV networks in which all connected
Powerline 200 AV devices are equipped with an
encryption button, customised data encryption can be
activated at the push of a button.
5.1 Encrypting your Powerline network using the
encryption button
To encrypt a Powerline 200 AV network in which all
connected devices are equipped with an encryption
button, simply press the encryption button located on
the device. When you press this button, your Powerline
200 AV network will be secured using a randomly
generated password.
In the following section, we describe the exact
procedures using possible network scenarios:
Encrypting a new Powerline 200 AV network with a Hama
200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN Adapter and a Hama
200 Mbps Powerline Adapter socket (Fig. 1)
After you have successfullly connected both adapters,
press and hold each encryption button for approx. 1
second. This procedure must be completed within two
minutes.
Finished! Your Powerline 200 AV network is now
protected from unauthorised access.
Expanding an existing Powerline 200 AV network by
adding a new Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 1T1N WLAN
Adapter (Fig. 2)

If your existing Powerline 200 AV network is already
secured using the encryption button, you can proceed
in the same way in order to integrate addition adapters.
After you have successfully connected the new Hama
200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN adapter, first press
and hold the encryption button (approx. 1 second) of an
adapter from your existing network and then press and
hold the encryption button (approx. 1 second) of the new
Hama 200 Mbps Powerline TIN WLAN Adapter. This
procedure must be completed within 2 minutes.
Finished! The new Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter is now integrated in your network. Proceed
as described to integrate additional adapters into your
network.

To remove a Hama 200 Mbps Powerline 11N WLAN
Adapter from an existing network, press and hold the
encryption button of the adapter in question for at least 10
seconds. This device receives a new randomly generated
password and is therefore removed from your network.
To integrate this adapter into another Powerline 200 AV
network, proceed as described above depending on
whether you are creating a new network or expanding an
existing network.

6. Addendum
The permitted voltage range for operating the
device and the power consumption are listed on the
sticker located on the back of the device.
The CE Declaration of Conformity for this product is
included on the product CD under “CE”. Additional
technical specifications are provided in the Service
Center of www.hama.de.
6.1 Important safety instructions
All safety and operating instructions should be read and
understood before starting up the device and must be
kept in a safe place for future reference.
* Do not open the device. There are no parts on the
inside of the device which can be serviced by the user.
Do not attempt to service this product on your own.
Always contact a qualified expert when service
work is required. There is a risk of electric shock!
* Always use the device in a dry location.
* Do not insert any objects into the openings on
the device.
* To turn off the device, switch off the device and
disconnect the electrical plug.
* To disconnect the device from the power supply
network, disconnect the electrical plug.
* Do not expose the device to direct sunlight.

ventilation purposes and must not be blocked or
covered.
* The device must not be placed in the immediate vicinity
of radiators.
* The device should be set up only in locations with
sufficient ventilation.
* Unplug the device from the power supply network

alcohol or other aggressive cleaners to clean the
device as they may damage the casing; use only a
damp cloth.
* The device should only be operated with the type of
power supply network described on the name plate.

adaptateurs compatibles Powerline 200 AV
conformément aux instructions ci-dessus. Continuez
la configuration des appareils pour sécuriser
individuellement votre réseau. Veuillez consulter a ce
sujet le chapitre 4 Configuration du réseau et le
chapitre 5 Sécurité du réseau Powerline.
4. Configuration du réseau
L'adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama
dispose d’une interface de configuration intégrée pouvant
être consultée à l’aide d'un navigateur web standard ou
d'un programme. La plupart des paramètres permettant
le fonctionnement de l’appareil peuvent être réglés à
l’aide de cette interface. Seule la première intégration de
l'adaptateur Powerline WiFi 5 Mbps 11N de Hama dans un
réseau Powerline existant devrait être effectuée à l’aide
du bouton de chiffrement (voir le chapitre 5 Sécurité du
réseau Powerline).
4.1 Consultation de l'interface de configuration intégrée
Vous devez installer le logiciel prévu pour votre système
d'exploitation fourni sur CD-ROM afin de consulter
interface de configuration.
4.2 Installation du logiciel
Windows
Installez le logiciel de configuration de l'adaptateur
sur votre système d'exploitation Windows à l’aide de
l’assistant d'installation.
L'assistant de configuration HomePlug détecte
automatiquement tous les adaptateurs PLC de votre
réseau PLC et effectue un chiffrement individuel de
votre réseau PLC.
L'application Configuration HomePlug sans fil lance
interface de configuration intégrée de votre appareil.

1. Pour installer le logiciel, insérez le CD-ROM fourni dans
votre lecteur, puis suivez les indications de l'assistant.
Vous pouvez décider, au cours de l'installation, si
vous désirez installer tous les composants logiciels
(installation standard) ou uniquement certains (installation
personnalisée). Nous vous recommandons d'installer
toutes les applications afin de pouvoir profiter sans
limitations de toutes les fonctions de vos appareils.

l'adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama à
l’aide du programme Hama Powerline Starter sous Start
-> Tous les programmes -> HomePlug-> Configuration

Par défaut, vous accéderez directement à
interface de configuration. Vous devrez cependant
saisir le mot de passe d'enregistrement (login) dans

4.4.1 Sécurité
Vous pouvez, dans cette section, définir un mot de passe
pour limiter l'accès à l'interface de configuration de
l'adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama.
Par défaut, l‘interface de configuration de
l’adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de
Hama n'est pas protégée par un mot de passe.
Vous devriez néanmoins activer cette protection
en définissant un mot de passe pour votre
adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama
après son installation afin d'empêcher tout accès
non autorisé.
Saisissez premièrement le mot de passe actuel (le cas
échéant), puis votre nouveau mot de passe en le répétant

4.4.2 Paramètres de réseau
En tant que composant de votre réseau domestique,
l'adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama
communique également à l’aide du protocole TCP/
|P. L'adresse IP nécessaire à cet effet peut être saisie
manuellement ou être reçue automatiquement d'un
serveur DHCP.
L'option « réception automatique provenant d'un serveur
DHCP » est activée par défaut pour l‘appareil dans son
état d'origine.
Vous devriez conserver l'option « réception automatique
provenant d'un serveur DHCP » activée dans le cas où
un serveur DHCP est déjà disponible pour ‘attribution
d'adresses IP dans votre réseau afin de permettre a
l'adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama de
recevoir automatiquement une adresse de ce serveur.
Vous pouvez également lui attribuer une adresse IP
statique en saisissant, par exemple « 192.168.0.250 »
pour l'adresse IP et « 255.255.255.0 » pour le masque de
réseau.
Dans le cas oú vous avez oublié l'adresse IP de
votre adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de
Hama, démarrez le « Starter Powerline de Hama »

sont couplés à une horloge radio-pilotée.

Vous pouvez mettre la fonction WiFi sous/hors tension de
trois manières différentes :
e Appuyez sur la touche ON/OFF située sur la face avant
de l'appareil.
e Utilisez l'onglet « WiFi » de l'interface de configuration
sous « Configuration WiFi ».
e Activez la commande horaire WiFi. Pour en savoir plus,
veuillez consulter le chapitre 4.5.3 Commande horaire
WiFi.

45.1 Point d'accès
Comme l'adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de
Hama fait office de point d'accès, vous devez configurer
différents paramètres pour votre réseau sans fil. Vous
avez la possibilité de mettre le composant WiFi de
votre adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de
Hama totalement hors tension si vous désirez l'utiliser
uniquement en tant qu‘adaptateur Powerline via les
connexions Ethernet intégrées. Dans ce cas, désactivez
l’option WiFi dans I'Apergu de l'état -> Stations WiFi ou
appuyez simplement sur le bouton WiFi ON/OFF du boîtier.
Veuillez noter qu’après avoir sélectionné ce
paramètre, toute connexion de votre adaptateur
Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama sera
interrompue. Dans ce cas, configurez votre appareil
via Ethernet ou Powerline.
Lors de l'activation du chiffrement, assurez-vous que les
paramètres WiFi (SSID, mode de chiffrement et mot de
passe de chiffrement) du point d'accès correspondent
bien à ceux des clients ; dans le cas contraire, vous
excluriez involontairement des appareils de votre réseau.
En état d'origine (paramètres d'usine), la fonction
WiFi de votre adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps
11N de Hama est activée et le chiffrement WiFi
WPA2 est réglé avec l'ID de sécurité en tant que
code standard WiFi. Ce code de sécurité de 16
chiffres est inscrit sur l'étiquette collée sur la face
inférieure du boîtier de l‘adaptateur.

Un canal (d'émission) doit être défini pour le
fonctionnement en tant que point d'accès. 13 canaux sont
disponibles. Nous vous recommandons de conserver le
paramètre standard « Auto », car, avec ce parametre,

recherche automatiquement le canal à intervalles
réguliers. L'adaptateur recherche donc un nouveau canal
en cas de déconnexion de la station connectée en dernier
lieu.

Activez I'option « Filtre » afin d’utiliser le filtre WiFi. Vous
pouvez alors sélectionner différents appareils de réseau
sur la base de leurs adresses MAC et leur permettre
d'accéder à votre adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps
11N de Hama. Confirmez chaque entrée avec « Ajouter ».
Une liste des appareils de réseau ou des stations
connecté(e)s à votre adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps
11N de Hama sera automatiquement établie ; sélectionnez
simplement l'adresse MAC d'un appareil et confirmez
cette sélection avec « Ajouter » afin leur autoriser l‘accès
à votre adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de
Hama. Ces appareils ou stations apparaissent dans la liste
des stations WiFi autorisées. Pour supprimer une station,
sélectionnez son adresse MAC, puis supprimez-la à l’aide
de « Effacer ».
L'adresse MAC désigne de manière univoque
l'interface matérielle de chaque appareil de réseau
(la carte WiFi d’un ordinateur ou l‘interface Ethernet
d’une imprimante, par exemple). Elle est composée
de six doubles chiffres hexadécimaux séparés par
deux points (exemple : 00:0B:3B:37:9D:C4). Vous
trouverez l'adresse MAC sur le boîtier de l'appareil.
L'adresse MAC d'un ordinateur Windows est facile à
trouver : ouvrez la fenêtre d'invite de commande sous
Démarrage -> Tous les programmes Accessoires ->
Invite de commande. Saisissez l’ordre IPCONFIG /ALL.
L'adresse MAC apparaît alors sous la désignation de
l'adresse physique.
N'oubliez pas de cliquer sur l'onglet « Sauvegarder »
aprés avoir saisi des adresses MAC. Un message d'erreur
apparaít a l'écran en cas d'erreur des valeurs saisies (les
deux points manquent, etc.).
N‘oubliez pas non plus de saisir l'adresse MAC de
votre propre ordinateur dans le cas où vous n'êtes
pas connecté à votre adaptateur Powerline WiFi
200 Mbps 11N de Hama via l'interface Ethernet,
mais via WiFi. Sinon vous verrouilleriez votre propre
acces a l'appareil via WiFi en activant le filtre WiFi
45.3 Commande horaire WiFi
Pour pouvoir utiliser la commande horaire WiFi,
l’option « Réception automatique de la date et
de l‘heure » doit être activée sous Configuration
des appareils Date et heure. Une connexion à
internet active est également nécessaire (voir 4.4.4
Serveur temps).
Activez l’option « Serveur temps » afin de pouvoir utiliser
la commande horaire WiFi. La commande horaire met
automatiquement votre réseau sans fil sous/hors tension
à certains moments de la journée.
Vous pouvez définir deux moments par jour pendant
lesquels votre réseau sans fil est activé. La commande
horaire active/désactive automatiquement votre réseau
sans fil à certains moments de la journée.
Veuillez noter que le réseau sans fil reste activé
tant que des stations sont connectées à
l'adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de
Hama. Le réseau sans fil est désactivé uniquement
lorsque la dernière station a été déconnectée.

4.5.4 Configuration de la protection WiFi (WiFi Protected
Setup - WPS)
WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) est un standard de
chiffrement développé par l'alliance WiFi destiné á
configurer simplement et rapidement un réseau sans
fil sécurisé. Les codes de chiffrement de la station WiFi
respective sont ainsi transmis automatiquement et de
facon permanente á l'autre/aux autres station(s) WiFi du
réseau sans fil. L'adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps
11N de Hama vous offre deux méthodes alternatives pour
la transmission du code de sécurité :

Lancez la procédure de chiffrement sur l'adaptateur

Appuyez finalement soit sur la touche WPS de la station
WiFi que vous désirez ajouter ou sur l‘onglet WPS de
‘interface de configuration. Les appareils échangent
le code de sécurité et établissent une connexion WiFi
sécurisée. La LED WiFi de la face avant clignote pendant
la procédure de synchronisation.
WPS à l’aide du code PIN :
1. Pour connecter fiablement des stations Wifi dans votre
réseau sans fil à l‘aide du code PIN, ouvrez l'interface
de configuration et saisissez un code individuel sous
« Configuration WiFi » -> WiFi Protected Setup (WPS)
-> PIN, puis lancez la procédure de chiffrement en
appuyant sur l'onglet « Configuration ».
2. Ouvrez l‘interface de configuration des stations WiFi
que vous désirez ajouter, puis transférez le code PIN
sélectionné sur l‘adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps
11N de Hama. Confirmez la procédure de chiffrement
comme indiqué ci-dessus. Les appareils échangent
le code de sécurité et établissent une connexion WiFi
sécurisée. La LED WiFi de la face avant clignote

La commande Gestion -> Restauration de la configuration
vous permet de restaurer les paramétres d'usine de votre
adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama. Tous
vos paramètres personnels seront effacés. Le mot de passe
Powerline attribué en dernier lieu pour votre adaptateur
Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama sera également
réinitialisé avec le mot de passe standard Powerline Home-
PlugAV. Pour resécuriser individuellement votre réseau
Powerline 200 AV, reconfigurez-le à l’aide du bouton de chif-

Le bouton de chiffrement vous permet de modifier
le mot de passe Powerline.
Vous pouvez transférer tous les paramètres de configuration
sur votre ordinateur dans un fichier afin de sauvegarder
la configuration, puis récupérer cette configuration et la
transférer à votre adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N
de Hama. De cette manière, vous pourrez, par exemple,
créer des configurations pour différents environnements
de réseau à l’aide desquelles vous pourrez paramétrer un
appareil de façon simple et rapide.

4.6.4 Mise a jour du micrologiciel
Le micrologiciel de votre adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200
Mbps 11N de Hama contient le logiciel permettant le
fonctionnement de l'appareil. Si nécessaire, Hama tient
à votre disposition sur internet les nouvelles versions
que vous pourrez télécharger sous forme de fichier afin
d'adapter, par exemple, certaines fonctions de l'appareil.

line WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama redémarre a la fin de
la procédure de mise a jour.
Faites attention a ne pas interrompre la procédure
de mise à jour. Connectez préférablement votre
ordinateur a I'adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps
11N de Hama via Powerline ou réseau local (LAN),
non via WiFi.
b. Sécurité du réseau Powerline
Avant de pouvoir utiliser I'adaptateur Powerline WiFi
200 Mbps 11N de Hama dans votre réseau domestique
Powerline, vous devez premiérement le connecter a
d’autres adaptateurs Powerline 200 AV compatibles afin
de construire un réseau domestique. Deux informations
spécifiques sont primordiales pour cette configuration :
e L'utilisation commune d'un mot de passe Powerline
permet de créer un réseau Powerline limité.
e L'utilisation commune du mot de passe Powerline est
utilisée pour le contrôle de l'accès au réseau Power-
line ainsi que pour le chiffrement, donc la sécurisation
de la confidentialité des données transmises.
Le mot de passe Powerline peut être défini à l’aide du
bouton de chiffrement. Veuillez noter la règle générale
lors de la sélection de la méthode de chiffrement :
Le chiffrement individuel des données fonctionne par
pression sur un bouton dans les réseaux Powerline 200
AV pour lesquels tous les appareils 200 AV sont équipés
d’un bouton de chiffrement.
5.1 Powerline — réseau avec bouton de chiffrement
Utilisez simplement le bouton de chiffrement placé sur
les appareils afin de chiffrer un réseau Powerline 200 AV
dans lequel tous les appareils sont équipés d'un bouton
de chiffrement. Votre réseau Powerline 200 AV sera
sécurisé à l’aide d'un mot de passe aléatoire lorsque vous
appuyez sur ce bouton.
Vous trouverez ci-dessous une marche à suivre détaillée
concernant les cas de figure possibles :
Chiffrement d'un nouveau réseau Powerline 200 AV à
l’aide d'un adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de
Hama et d'un adaptateur Powerline 200 Mbit/s « Socket »
de Hama (fig. 1).
Après avoir connecté les deux adaptateurs, appuyez —
dans les 2 minutes suivantes — sur chaque bouton de
chiffrement pendant env. 1 seconde.
Terminé ! Votre réseau Powerline 200 AV est maintenant
protégé contre tout accès non autorisé.
Vous pouvez étendre un réseau Powerline 200 AV avec
un nouvel adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de
Hama (fig. 2).

Dans le cas ou votre réseau Powerline 200 AV est déja
sécurisé a l'aide d’un bouton de chiffrement, vous
pouvez utiliser la même méthode afin d'intégrer d’autres
adaptateurs. Après avoir connecté l’adaptateur Powerline
WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de Hama, appuyez premièrement
— dans les 2 minutes — sur le bouton de chiffrement
pendant env. 1 seconde) d'un adaptateur de votre réseau
existant, puis sur le bouton de chiffrement (pendant env. 1
seconde) du nouvel adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps
11N de Hama.

exactement de la même manière afin d'intégrer d'autres
adaptateurs dans votre réseau.

Retirer un adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N de
Hama de votre réseau (fig. 3).
Pour retirer un adaptateur Powerline WiFi 200 Mbps 11N
de Hama d'un réseau existant, appuyez sur le bouton de
chiffrement de l'adaptateur concerné pendant au moins
10 secondes. Cet appareil recevra un nouveau mot de
passe aléatoire et sera ainsi exclu de votre réseau.
Pour pouvoir l'intégrer dans un autre réseau Powerline
200 AV, procédez comme indiqué ci-dessus, en fonction
de votre projet (création d'un nouveau réseau ou
extension d'un réseau existant).

arrière de l'appareil pour toute information
concernant la plage de tension autorisée pour son
fonctionnement ainsi que pour sa puissance absorbée.

produit sur le CD-ROM fourni (sous CE). Vous
trouverez d'autres indications techniques dans
notre Service Center sous www.hama.de.
6.1 Consignes de sécurité importantes
Les utilisateurs devraient avoir lu et compris toutes les
consignes de sécurité et d'utilisation avant de mettre
l'appareil en service ; ces consignes doivent être
conservées en lieu sûr pour pouvoir être consultées
ultérieurement.

partie nécessitant un entretien par l‘utilisateur.
Ne tentez pas de réparer l'appareil vous-même,
7 mais adressez-vous exclusivement a un technicien
qualifié pour tous travaux de réparations. Risques

e Utilisez l'appareil uniquement dans un lieu sec.
e N'introduisez aucun objet dans les orifices de
l'appareil.
e Retirez la prise mále de l'appareil afin de le mettre
hors tension.
e Retirez la prise male de l'appareil afin de le séparer
du réseau électrique.
e Protégez l'appareil des rayons directs du soleil.
e Les fentes et ouvertures du boîtier sont indispensables
à la ventilation de l'appareil et ne doivent être ni
recouvertes, ni bouchées.
e N'installez pas l'appareil à proximité directe d'un
radiateur.
e Installez uniquement l'appareil dans un lieu
suffisamment aéré.
e Débranchez l'appareil avant de le nettoyer. N'utilisez
en aucun cas de l’eau, des détergents contenant
des solvants, du benzol, de l'alcool ou d’autres produits
nettoyants agressifs lors du nettoyage ; ces produits
sont susceptibles de détériorer le boîtier ; utilisez
exclusivement un chiffon humide.
e Utilisez l'appareil exclusivement dans un réseau
électrique correspondant aux indications de la plaque
signalétique.
e En cas d'endommagement, séparez l'appareil du
réseau électrique et adressez-vous à votre service
client.
* Un endommagement est survenu lorsque : - le câble
électrique ou la prise est endommagé(e),
e - du liquide ou un objet a pénétré dans l'appareil,
e - l'appareil a été exposé à la pluie ou à de l'eau,
e - l'appareil ne fonctionne pas correctement, bien que
toutes les consignes d'utilisation aient été suivies,
e - le boîtier de l’appareil est endommagé.
