This quick start guide is designed to get you up and running quickly with your new router. For more advanced setup instructions, refer to the user manual which can be downloaded from the NetComm Wireless website at www.netcommwireless.com

CONNECTING THE GATEWAY

1. Align the holes on the base of the gateway with the securing pins on the gateway stand as illustrated below and push the gateway into the stand so that the securing pins lock into place.

2. Connect the supplied yellow Ethernet cable to one of the yellow Ethernet ports on the back of the gateway and the other end to the network adapter on your computer.

3. Connect the supplied RJ-11 cable to the DSL port on the back of the gateway and the other end to the wall port that provides your ADSL service.

4. Connect the supplied AC Power adapter to the power jack on the back of the gateway and to the wall socket then press the ON/OFF button.

LOGGING INTO THE

WEB INTERFACE

1. Open a web browser (for example,

Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or

Microsoft Internet Explorer) and type

http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar and press Enter. The login screen is displayed.

5. To configure a wireless network, set the

Wireless 2.4GHz (WiFi) option to On.

The SSID Broadcast option enables or disables the gateway from showing the wireless network name when a scan is performed by wireless devices. In the

SSID Broadcast Name field, enter the wireless network name that you would like to use. This may be a maximum of

32 characters. Click the Next button to continue.

2. Enter admin into both the username and password fields and click Login. The

First-time Setup Wizard is displayed.

3. Click the Yes, let’s get started with the

wizard button to begin configuring the gateway.

6. Use the Security Key Type drop down list to select the type of wireless security you would like to use. If you are unsure, select WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK. In the

Security Key field, enter the password you would like to use for wireless devices to join your wireless network. This may be a maximum of 8 characters. Click the Next button to continue.

4. To setup your ADSL service, use the

WAN Type drop down list to select the

ADSL connection type. Your service provider should be able to give you this information. If you are unsure, select PPP over Ethernet. Enter the username and password of your ADSL account and click Next.

Note: For 3G/4G or NBN/Fibre connections please consult the

User Guide for setup instructions .

7. Steps 4 and 5 of the wizard are the same as steps 2 and 3 but for the 5GHz WiFi network. Enter the details for the 5GHz wireless network and click Next.

8. Step 6 of the wizard prompts you to configure the username and password used to log in to the gateway. We highly recommend changing the default username and password of the gateway for security reasons. In the Desired

Username field, enter the username you would like to use. In the Desired

Password and Retype Password fields, enter the password that you would like to use. Click the Next button to continue.

Note: Remember to write down the username and password that you configure.

9. The wizard displays a summary of the settings that you configured. Click the

Finish button to complete the wizard.

CONNECTING VIA WIFI

You can connect multiple computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones to your gateway’s wireless networks by performing the following steps. Note that the gateway has both a 2.4GHz and a 5GHz wireless network. The network that you connect to is configured on your wireless device and is subject to the device’s compatibility.

1. Using your wireless device, perform a scan for wireless networks and select the wireless network name listed on the included Wireless Security Card.

If you changed the SSID Broadcast

Name using the Setup Wizard, select the wireless network displaying the name that you entered.

2. Enter the wireless security key listed on the included Wireless Security Card and click Connect. If you changed the wireless security password using the

Setup Wizard, enter the new password you configured with the Wizard.

3. Wait approximately 30 seconds for the connection to establish.
