Installation
Hardware Installation
1. Plug the USB connection into an available USB port on your desktop or laptop computer.
2. Windows® or Mac OS will automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.
3. Connect your desired device to the 3.5mm Stereo headphone & S/PDIF output combo jack
NOTE: If you are not getting any sound input/output from the device upon connection, please verify your sound properties settings to ensure they are configured to use the USB audio adapter as the input/output device.
Software Installation (Windows only)
The USB sound card includes additional software for SPDIF AC3 audio pass-through. If your application requires 5.1 audio, this software will allow AC3 audio to be passed to an external 5.1 channel audio receiver through the SPDIF interface.
1. Insert the provided CD in to your DVD/CD-ROM drive.
2. Browse to the D:\VIA\VT1630-SPDIFPassThru folder and double-click the Setup.exe application.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation and restart if prompted to do so.

Verifying Installation
Windows
1. Open the Device Manager by right-clicking on Computer, and then select Manage.
In the new Computer Management window, select Device Manager from the left window panel (For Windows 8, open the Control Panel and select Device
Manager).
2. Expand the “Sound, video and game controllers” and “Universal Serial Bus controllers” sections. On a successful install, you should following devices in the list with no exclamation points or question marks.

1. Open the System Profiler by clicking the Apple symbol in the top left corner, selecting About this Mac, then select System Report
2. Expand the “Hardware” section and click “USB” in the left column. With the adapter connected, you should see the following device in the list.
