MP3 player, iPod or other device and do not listen for more than 1 hour a day.

ƒ

ƒ

You should immediately stop listening if you experience ringing in your ears or other pain or discomfort.

11

4.1. Ear tips

The Audéo PFE come with both silicone and Comply

TM

foam tips; the silicone ear tips are better for use during exercise.

The Comply

TM

foam tips are better at filtering out ambient noise, making them the best choice for travel or use in noisy surroundings.

To change the ear tips (foam or silicone), hold the ear tip in the middle and pull it slowly until it comes loose. Do not use your fingernails or any other sharp object to remove the ear tips, as otherwise they could be damaged. If you are using Comply

TM foam tips, compress them with your fingers before wearing the earphones.

12

4.2. Wearing the earphones

Audéo PFE deliver amazing sound if correctly inserted in the ears and if an absolute seal is achieved. To experience their best performance, proceed as follows: a. Turn the volume of the sound source to a minimum before

connecting the earphones.

b. Choose the most comfortable ear tips and put them on the

earphones.

c. Identify the left and right earphone.

L

L = left

R = right

13 d. Attach the silicone ear guides to the cables and pull through to the earphones. Use of the ear guides is optional. The ear guides route the wires comfortably around the ears and ensure a perfect fit reducing cable noise, especially indicated during exercise.

e. Hold each earphone with the cable pointing up and the ear tips pointing towards your head, as shown. If you are using Comply

TM

foam tips compress them with your fingers before wearing the earphones. Place the cable behind the ear and insert the ear tips into your ear canal with a gentle push. Do not force the earphones into the ears!

14 f. The ear tips should seal the ear canal and fit without any discomfort. Rotate the earphones as shown, pointing diagonally towards the top of the ear. Gently pull the cable downwards to ensure a perfect fit.

If you feel that the ear tips are too loose (insufficient seal) or too tight (discomfort), try another size. To remove the earphones pull them out gently with a small rotation in order to break the seal.

Do not pull the cable to remove the earphones from your ear.

15

4.3. Acoustic filters

The acoustic filters have an essential acoustic impact on the sound of the earphones. The purpose of this filter is to deliver sound that matches what one perceives when listening with non-occluded ears. The product comes with three different types of acoustic filters: The gray filter is for enhanced perception of the mid-frequencies, the black filter for enhanced perception of bass and treble and the green filter for extra bass. Because each individual‘s perception of sound is unique, Audéo PFE allow you to choose the filter that suits your personal preferences. Another function of the acoustic filter is to prevent dirt from entering the sound tube.

ƒ Make sure that the acoustic filters are in place before using the earphones. The earphones only function correctly if the acoustic filters are inserted in the sound tube.

ƒ

ƒ

Always use the same color of acoustic filters for both the left and right earphone.

Replace the filters when they become dirty or clogged and the sound of the earphones is affected.

16

To change the acoustic filters proceed as follows: a. First of all remove the ear tips (foam or silicone) by holding them in the middle and pulling them slowly until they come loose. b. Remove the filter from the earpiece by pushing the changing tool with the split end into the used acoustic filter until you hear a “click” and pull the used filter straight out.

Preferably use the split end of the changing tool to change filters.

17 c. Dispose of any soiled or damaged acoustic filters. To reuse the filter in the future, insert it straight in an empty slot in the filter box, then tip the changing tool sideways and remove it.

45° d. To place a new acoustic filter in the earphones, press the split end of the changing tool into the filter ring and gently pull it out vertically.

18 e. Push the new acoustic filter into the sound tube of your earphones. Tip the changing tool sideways to release it.

Place the ear tips on the earphones again.

45°

If it doesn’t work with the split end, use the thread end: a. Screw down and pull out straight.

b. Slightly unscrew the acoustic filter with the fingers until you

have only a low fixing.

c. Insert it straight in an empty slot in the filter box and unscrew

completely.

ƒ

The silicone ear tips should be cleaned regularly with water and mild soap, or with an antiseptic wipe. Always make sure that the ear tips are dry before reusing them.

Comply

TM

foam tips cannot be cleaned. When they are dirty they should be replaced. The manufacturer of Comply
