SDC4/SDC8 Network Settings
An overview of the SDC series network settings
Item Description
Connect type Select the setup mode for network connection: (choose
HTTP Setup
from ADSL, DHCP, LAN or 3G connection).
Enter to setup HTTP.
DDNS Setup Enter to setup DDNS.
Mail Setup
Networking Setup
3G Setup
Enter to setup Email settings.
Enter to setup 3G network settings.
There are three ways to connect to the network:
1: DHCP
When DHCP is selected, the DHCP server will automatically assign an IP address. If you are setting up your DVR for remote viewing over the internet then you should use the LAN option instead of DHCP.
2: LAN
If you select LAN for network connection, the following information is required:

IP Address Enter the IP address.
Subnet Mask Enter the IP address of the Subnet Mask.
Gateway Enter the IP address of the Gateway.
DNS Enter the DNS address.
(Note: The correct DNS address must be entered for DDNS function).
3: ADSL
If you select ADSL for network connection, the following information is required:

Enter the user name provided by your ISP
Enter the password provided by your ISP
3G
If you are using a USB 3G dongle for network connection, the following information is required:

Dial-up Number Dial-up Number (Determined by your ISP).
PIN Enter the password.
APN Enter “internet”.
Advance Setting Select to enter the advanced settings menu.

Enter the fixed IP address provided by your ISP.
HTTP Setup
If you are setting up your DVR for remote viewing over the internet you will need to make a note of the
HTTP port that is listed in this menu, by default it is set to 80.

Description
Check to enable HTTP server. Users can remotely access into the DVR over the network if the HTTP function is activated.
Enter a valid port value from 1 up to 65000. The default
Channel number.
Set up record quality. The options are: below basic, basic, normal, high, highest.
Set up record FPS.
DDNS Setup
If you do not have a static external IP address from your ISP you may need to set up a DDNS address to view your DVR over the internet.

Description
Enable/disable DDNS function.
Enter the registered SMTP Server: Select either ez-dns,
I-DVR.NET, DYNDNS.ORG, NO-IP.ORG, 3322.ORG.
Enter the completed registered SMTP Server.
(Including user and Server name).
Enter the details in the correct format, i.e. If the user name is h.264 and you choose i-dvr as your server, you should enter: h.264.i-dvr.net
Enter the user name.
Enter the password.
Mail Setup
When an event occurs such as VLOSS (video loss) or MOTION (motion detection), an email will be sent to the receiver account automatically.

Check the box to enable/disable the Email Notification function.
Enter to setup SMTP Server name. (Varies according to the user).
Enter to setup User Name.
Enter to setup Password.
Enter to setup the Email address of the sender account.
Enter to select the events to send as Email notifications when the following circumstances happen: Motion
(Motion Detection), Sensor (Alarm triggered) and VLOSS
