The Avocent DSR1021, 1022, 1024 and 1031 KVM over IP switches address the unique challenges of branch offi ce IT environments where space and IT resources are limited. These
DSR switches feature an on-board Web interface compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla,
Firefox, or Netscape for over-IP access and control of your servers and other networked devices from any location. Devices attached to these DSR switches can be cycled on and off with the dedicated power control port and managed remotely without the need for onsite IT staff or costly service calls.
When deployed with Avocent DSView® 3 management software, you get a secure method to access and control your servers and network devices from a single interface. Its hub and spoke architecture provides failover authentication. Users authenticate to a central management server (the hub) or one of 15 mirror servers (the spokes). SNMP and IPMI support are also provided with DSView 3 management software.

Remote branch management. Enables IT administrators to manage remotely located servers or serial devices. Avoids the need for costly visits to remote branch locations.
Virtual Media support for branches (DSR1031 switch only). DSView 3 management software provides
Virtual Media support with the DSR1031 switch. Use it to map CD-ROMs and other storage media to a remote branch server to conduct fi le transfers, application and OS patches, and diagnostics.
Integrated power control. DSR KVM over IP switches integrate with the Cyclades® PM power control device for remote power management and control of servers and network gear.
External modem support. When the network is down, IT administrators can dial into the target appliance and continue to manage remotely or restore the network.
On-board Web interface. On-board Web interface support gives you direct access to target devices without additional software. Benefi cial to small companies who want a scalable system that can easily grow with them. DSView 3 management software can be added later as your system grows.
