HOW TO SELECT LIGHTING COLOUR

You can choose three different colours, green, red and orange, in order to make VCRA lighting suitable to the car dashboard it is installed on.

In order to set the colour you like, remove VCRA chassis through the two rear screws and connect the two jumpers to the connector as indicated below. There is a short caption on the printed circuit board inside

VCRA that explains how to carry out this simple operation.

• Red (R): position 1 and 2

• Orange (O): position 2 and 3

• Green (G): position 1 and 3

2 . Remove the screws that fasten

VCRA chassis.

4 . Make connections and after removing the other protective film from the biadhesive tape insert VCRA into the hole by pressing on it.

3 . Clean the hole edges and VCRA front panel rear surface where bi-adhesive tape must be applied with alcohol (bi-adhesive tape is given with the device).

Warning: Make sure alcohol does not damage the possible plastic where you drilled the hole using it on a hidden place first.

Remove one of the two protective films from the bi-adhesive tape and apply it on VCRA front panel back by pressing your fingers on it, in order to insure perfect adherence.

FEATURES

VCRAK is a kit for the subwoofer volume remote analogue control that permits to easily adjust the amplifier output level without moving from the listening point. It consists of:

1. VCRA level control to place close to the listening point; it has variable lighting (red, orange and green) and intensity (Dimmer).

2. VCA (Voltage Control Amplifier) module, to put inside the amplifier to control.

3. Connection cables kit.

VCRAK, based on VCA functions, can be only used with the components that are suitable to accept this

VCA module module.

When designing it, we minded not to affect the signal path in order not to affect sound itself.

VCRA varies VCA module reference voltage, that is proportional to the signal level to modify; this makes preamplified signal stay unchanged.

REMARK: VCA module is stereo. This allows the amplifier subwoofer section mono/stereo modes not to change according to the amplifier features or to the chosen configuration.

INSTALLATION

There are six sockets in VCRA rear panel, supplied with small spring terminal blocks to connect to power supply (battery) and amplifier. Please follow instructions and connections diagram for a correct installation.

VOLUME

CONTROL

VCRA

GROUND: -12 VDC, to be connected to battery negative (-).

REMOTE IN: Input for the cable coming from the source or the amplifier; it switches on internal lighting.

+12 VDC: Battery positive (+).

LIGHT SW: Control to decrease internal lighting when the car lights are turned on. To be connected after the lights switch.

VOLUME CONTROL: Outputs to connect to the amplifier VCR sockets.

REMARKS:

1. The two contacts of VOLUME CONTROL sockets are equivalent and not polarised. They can be connected to the two VCR sockets of the amplifier through the white-yellow wire as you like.

2. Please refer to the amplifiers owner’s manuals in order to install VCA module.

We recommend the use of audison cable products in order to have a very good installation.

PRECAUTIONS

In order to insure the system good functioning, avoid to install VCRA in hot or damp places.

Respect power supply voltage polarity.

For safer driving, we recommend to adjust volume not to drown external traffic sounds.

CONNECTIONS

Press the screwdriver point on the terminal block, then insert the peeled cable to the hole bottom. Release the terminal block insuring the cable perfect fastening. Repeat the operation with the other contacts.

Cables preparation:

10 mm

(ø max. 1mm)

WARNING: Use the cables given with the device.

Otherwise, please use cables with 1 mm maximum diameter, peeling their ends for about 10 mm.

VCRAK USE

VCRA level control has a knob with central tripping (“0” position). If the knob is adjusted on this position, subwoofer volume stays unchanged.

If you turn the knob counterclockwise, you gradually decrease subwoofer volume until it is completely silent.

If you turn the knob clockwise, you gradually increase subwoofer volume until its output level doubles.

ADJUSTMENTS

1. Set VCRA knob on the central tripping.

2. Adjust output levels of the system channels through a standard calibration.

3. Adjust subwoofer volume by turning VCRA knob according to your needs.

Frequently Answers and Questions

How do I change the lighting color of the VCRA unit?
Remove the VCRA chassis by removing the two rear screws. Connect jumpers to the connector as indicated in the instructions on the printed circuit board inside the VCRA unit.
Can I use VCRAK with any amplifier?
VCRAK is compatible with amplifiers that accept a VCA module, so check your amplifier's specifications to ensure compatibility.
What does the central tripping position on the VCRA knob do?
The central tripping position on the VCRA knob represents the '0' position, where the subwoofer volume remains unchanged.
