The smc-DA 18 – 250mm/3.5~6.3 ED AL [IF] is a special development within the digital photo range. The phrase
“universal lens” especially applies to this lens as it covers the entire focal range between 27.5 – 382.5mm (in 35mm film format), making it the optimal lens choice for nearly any photographic opportunity. The strength of this lens lies in its varied uses. If you don’t know what to expect when going on a photo shoot then this should be the lens of choice. High-quality aspherical lens (AL) elements assure brilliant images and extra-low-dispersion (ED) elements efficiently correct aberrations.
