Sample Exchange Configuration on the Android device ʻDroid 2ʼ
Our Exchange service can be set up on Android based devices like Galaxy or Droid.
Once itʼs set up, you can sync your Exchange Mail, Calendar and/or Contacts with your
Android Device.
Please note that due to the large number of devices on the Android platform, your
Android device may vary in configuration.
Before you begin, update your device with the latest version of Android from your
carrier.
Once your Android device is updated to the latest version, and connected to the
Internet, please follow the steps below to set up Exchange. Please note that Droid 2
from Verizon Wireless with Android 2.3.20 was used for this guide. Your device may
look different.
STEP 1.
Open Settings on your Android device, and select Accounts.
STEP 2.
Select Add account button to start the set up.
STEP 3.
Select Corporate Sync.
STEP 4.
Fill out the following:
Domain\Username: nyspi\YOUR USERNAME
Password: YOUR PASSWORD
Email address: YOUR [email protected]
Server: mobile.nyspi.columbia.edu
Make sure that “Use secure connection” option is checked. Select Next button when
done.
STEP 5.
Your device will now try to connect to the Exchange server, and verify the information
you have just entered.
STEP 6.
You are now back to My Accounts with the new account you have just set up. Select
the new account.
STEP 7.
Verify the set up information in STEP 4, and check the items you want to sync. You can
also rename the account. Select OK button when done.
Your Android device is now ready sync with Exchange. You may open Mail, Calendar or
Contacts to check the sync status.
