DESCRIPTION
Follow these instructions to replace a Hauppauge tuner with an Avermedia tuner in a 7xi console.
The parts shown below are needed for the replacement. Part number 1000228812 is only needed if the
female USB connection was stretched by the Hauppauge tuner. If the female USB connection was stretched,
the console will display NO TUNER FOUND.

NOTE: For 7xi consoles on bikes, ellipticals, steppers, ascents, and climbmills, first remove the console from
the console mast. Also remember to reconnect any wires disconnected to perform the below operations.

Turn off power at the main switch at the base of the machine.
Remove COAX from old tuner.
Remove USB from old tuner.
Remove and dispose of OLD TUNER.
Unplug IPOD CABLE from UCB (Upper Control Board).
Unplug USB from UCB.
Cut WIRE TIE to free UCB and IPOD CABLES.
Remove IPOD and USB CABLES. Pay attention to cable routing. Dispose of in garbage.
Install new IPOD and USB cables.
Pre-install WIRE TIES to create a BRACKET ASY as shown below.
11) Install BRACKET ASY using the same bosses as old bracket.

12) Install TUNER and pull wire ties tight. HINT: See TUNER ORIENTATION BELOW. COAX on right. USB on left.

Plug COAX, IPOD, and USB into TUNER.
Verify all tuner and UCB board connections.
Trim WIRE TIES.
Turn on main power (base of machine).
After boot, press “ENTER 884678855 ENTER” to install the tuner driver.
Press the HOME BUTTON (upper left corner of screen).
Press “ENTER 3001 ENTER”. The screen will enter service mode.
Run CHANNEL SCAN for the club’s given cable type.
Press the HOME BUTTON.
Press GUEST.
Press GO.
Workout will begin. Verify LIVE TV, HEART RATE, KEYPAD, and IPOD function (will need a 30 pin compatible
i-device).
25) Reassemble back cover screws.
