Cleaning Cartridges

Dry process cleaning cartridges are an efficient way to clean recording heads without dismantling your tape drive. These cartridges help extend system life, minimize service calls and maintain reliability. Cleaning is recommended after eight hours of tape movement.

Why backup?

No matter what you consider your data integrity’s greatest threat— viruses, hackers, power surges, theft or hard drive crashes—data recovery costs time and money. The only proven method for combating the risk of crippling data loss is backup. Defend your data by practicing good backup habits.

Backup tips

Whatever your backup strategy, be sure to have enough Imation ™ Travan

TM cartridges on hand for archiving.

Moving files to archive tapes lets you protect your data and save drive space. Do incremental backups daily and a full backup weekly. Be sure to rotate a new Travan cartridge into your weekly schedule to further enhance your data protection.

Store cartridges in cases and keep them away from power supplies, telephones, monitors, and other sources of magnetic fields. It’s a prudent practice to store a complete backup off-site in case of fire, theft, flood or other unexpected misfortune. Archiving seldom-accessed files to Imation cartridges makes efficient use of your hard drive.
