Why should you clean your drive?

The cleaning process is unique to each drive format.

Regular cleaning of the drive reduces build-up or stains that have been deposited on the head.

What are the benefits of dry head cleaning?

Some cleaning systems use liquid chemicals that are messy and hard to work with. Imation’s Dry Head Cleaning Products use a process that is totally dry, eliminating the application of messy (and possibly hazardous) chemicals.

In addition, dry head cleaning is virtually hassle-free. All you do is insert the Imation Dry Head

Cleaning Cartridge into your drive. The cleaning process itself is automatic and total cleaning time is as fast as twenty seconds versus five minutes for wet-type cleaners.

When should you clean your drive?

For best results we recommend that you follow the drive manufacturer's cleaning recommendations, as shown in your drive owner's manual.

Generally drives operated or stored in a normal, reasonably clean, office environment should be cleaned once a month. Drives operated or stored in less than optimum environments should be cleaned more frequently.
