Summary This keyboard can be unversally used to control PTZ cameras within a wide variety of security control room environments. The keyboard has been equipped with a 2D & 3D joystick, which can control the movement of the camera and the zoom magnification lens. It also incorporates an LCD screen with backlight enabling you to read the screen details in a variety of locations with varying light levels. The screen displays the current operation order, the control protocol's name, the current PTZ camera's ID, the current monitor's ID, and also what the current state the joysticks are in. Keyboard Connection 2.1 Keyboard Interface Instruction There is a n interface on the back of the keyboard, which allows you to either have a direct connection to the PTZ cameras or a connection via a network. 2.1.2 RJ45 Interface This is the standard network interface, which is mainly used for connecting the keyboard with the control matrix over short distances (less than 7.6m). For more details please see "2.3 matrix connection". 2.1.1 RS422 and RS485 interface Rs422 and Rs485 interface are on the 6bit ribbon cable connection of the keyboard.RS485 (A+ B-) can connect with the dome when the keyboard controls the dome directly;RS485(A+,B-) can connect with DVR or other keyboards when the keyboard controls the dome by matrix; Rs422 (T+,T-) is sending the signal ,RS422(R +,R-) is receiving the signal , both of which can connect with matrix, DVR and so on. For example the keyboard connects with the PELCO CM6700 matrix in order to introduce the connection between the keyboard and the matrix. Rs422 connection line, one end connects with There are two kinds of keyboard connection interface on the CM6700 matrix back plate. One is the local keyboard connection interface RJ45 ("LOCAL KEYBOARD"), which can control the single keyboard within the distance of 7.6m. The other is the remote interface RS422 ("REMOTE KEYBOARD(s)"), which can connect with the keyboard's RS422 Iinterface. The RS485 interface of the PTZ camera/dome is on the switchboard of the pendant hanger found on the upper cover of the PTZ camera/dome. You will also find the 4 Pin control/power socket and also the RS485 A+ & Bwhen you turn the metal button inside the hanger and opened the switchboard. There are different ways to connect to the PTZ camera/ domes depending on the make of them. Please see the PTZ camera/dome's user manual for more information. The keyboard and camera connects in parallel with the RS485 Bus and each keyboard can control each dome. This way is required because you need to have the keyboard's (the main keyboard ID is set to '1') Baud rate set to 9600bps (see picture 2-4-2). A line of Rs485 may control up to 32 main controlling and under controlling e quipments, so a keyboard which controls the dome directly may c onnect up to 31 domes. 2. The system may connect up to 4 k eyboards at the sa me time, and the fou r keyboards ID are different. Keyboard Operation Manual LCD Jo ys tic k Function Numeric zone Lens Controlling Picture 3-1.1 3. 2 LCD This section of the manual explains how to operate the actual keyboard. It needs to be noted that the systematic platform of the keyboard compared to the PTZ camera/dome may differ. Please refer to the PTZ camera/dome's users guide to make sure that both devices work together successfully. The LCD display is used to list the keyboard's basic operational information, which includes camera control, monitor ID, baud rate, etc. In the last line it shows the keyboard input commands and joystick operation. As the image in Picture 3-1-1 shows, when you operate the keyboard the LCD's backlight will turn on so you are able to view the screen's information more clearly. The backlight will switch off after 15 seconds of non use. 3. 1 Electrify to keyboard When power is provided to the keyboard, the keyboard will auto-test the baud rate, protocol and the PTZ cameras/domes (object monitor will be set as '1'). This information will show on the LCD screen. Connection ● Focus control: 3. 3 Joystick controls the dome The Joystick has two functions, one is to manually control the PTZ camera/dome's rotation, and the other is to help control the set up of the object menu. Rotate the joystick in any direction, the camera will rotate in correspondence with the direction of the joystick at the same time. The LCD will display the information in the lower right corner as directional arrows. They respectively show tilt up, tilt down, tilt right, tilt left. If the joystick tilts to the upper right hand corner, the image will display the relevant directional arrows. When the joystick returns to the primary location, the camera will stop rotating. ● ● You can tilt the joystick up or down to scroll through the system menu options. When you tilt it to the right you will select that menu option or reserve the setting after it has been set. Tilting it left will exit menu or stop reserving the settings. By moving the joystick more quickly the more the PTZ camera/dome pan/tilts in parallel with the speed of movement. ● Press 【FAR】manually far focus, to make the far object more legible, leave to stop. Press 【NEAR】manually near focus, to make the near object more legible, leave to stop. The standard setting for the camera is for it to be in constant auto focus. The user must manually focus and run other operations by the two keys, once this is done the camera will automatically resume to auto focus. ● Iris control: Press 【OPEN】manual Iris increase, Iris is at the maximum, the screen will show white, leave to stop. Press 【CLOSE】manual Iris reduction, Iris is at the minimum, the screen will show black, leave to stop. 3.6 Dome function operation 3.6.1 Preset ● Set preset: 【SET】+【N】+【Preset】 ● Call preset: 【N】+【Preset】 【N】means preset number. 3. 4 Change object dome 3.6.2 Scan 【N】 + 【Cam】 【N】means numeric key Input the dome ID, Press【 Cam】 , to change object dome. ● Set left limit: ● Set right limit:【SET】+【2】+【Scan】 ● Run scan: 【SET】+【1】+【Scan】 【1】+【Scan】 User should enter into menu setup t o change the speed of scan. 3. 5 Dome lens control ● Zoom control: Press【TELE】, the camera's lens will zoom in to increase the image size by multiple amounts. Press【WIDE】, the camera's lens will zoom out to decrease the image size by multiple amounts. 3.6.3 Pattern ● Set pattern path:【SET】+【N】+【PATTERN】 +Path+【SET】+【0】+【PATTERN】 Press【SET】, input pattern NO.(1-4), Press【PATTERN】to enter tour setup, the dome records a series of motions, when c o mplete press【SET】, then press【0】,then press【PATTERN】, the pattern setup finish. ● Run pattern:【N】+【PATTERN】Input pattern number(1-4),press【PATTERN】,run pattern. 7 Connection 3.6.4 Tour 3.8.4 Change object monitor Run tour: 【N】 + 【TOUR】/【TOUR】 【N】 + 【MON】 Press tour number,press【TOUR】,run tour. The menu is displayed in the object monitor. How to set the dome menu by keyboard, Please refer to the dome Operation manual. 3. 8 Control the matrix 3.8.1 Switch the domes in order The matrix connects sixteen domes, and switches the dome to previous and t h e next dome. The LCD will display number, date and time. 【PREV】: switch to previous dome. Press 【PREV】, switch to previous dome in a single step; Press 【PREV】 to hold it for 2s, and jump sixteen domes of the connection matrix in previous order. Press【Stop】to stop to switch. 【NEXT 】:switch to next dome. Press【NEXT 】 to switch the next dome in single step; press【NEXT】 to hold it for 2s, and jump the sixteen domes of the connection matrix. 【Stop】: switch continuously, press 【Stop】to stop to switch. 3.8.2 Call main menu of matrix 【Shift】+【Set】: Calls the main menu. The main menu will be displayed in the object monitor. If you are unsure how to change settings in the matrix menu please refer to the matrix's operation manual. 3.8.3 Confirm after program 【ENTER】:after the matrix programmed, press 【ENTER】, means confirm after program, for a detail e d explanation, please refer to the matrix operation manual. 8 Keyboard Parameter Setting 4 The Keyboard Menu Controls Press【SET】, hold for 2 seconds. Go to the main menu, the LCD will show the following in Picture 4.1-1. 3. Press 【 1 】 to choose keyboard Specification. LCD will display the following (See picture 4.1.1-3) 1、Set KB ID 2、Set balldrate 3、Joy_calibrate Press the numerical key or move the joystick up and down to the option t h a t you need and then m o v e it right after entering the main menu, which can enter the relevant menu setting. 1、Keyboard setup 2、Dome setup 3、Protocol select 4、Exit menu Pic ture 4.1.1-3 4. Press 【 1 】 to choose keyboard ID setting. LCD will display the following (See picture 4.1.1-4) Input KB ID: (1-64) Picture 4.1-1 * Saving Setting Choose the relevant numerical keys according to the menu hint. You can the enter the relevant function settings. Press【ENTER】to save settings; the LCD will display "Success" after the set up is successfully complete. This means that the operation has been completed successfully. Success! * Return to P revious menu Press 【Prev 】,or move the joystick le ftw ard s, then retur n t o the previous menu . NO TICE 4.1.1-1) Press 【 1 】 to set the keyboard LCD display ( sees picture 4.1.1-2) Press 【2】to set the keyboard ' s baud rate. LCD display (See picture 4.1.2-1) Press 【4】 to set multi-keyboard connection state setting.After you select 【Multi keyboard The baud rate is divid ed into 2400bps,4800bps, 9600bps and 19200bps,user can choose baud rate according to the application and then press【Enter】 to save. The screen display success It means the operation is success . Then Press 【Prev】or move the joystick t o t h e left to go bac k. state】, tilt up/down the joystick to set the state as “ON” or “ OFF”, the default setting of keyboard is OFF. When it is set to ON, it can support multikeyboard operation, there will be no interference or confusion between them. One group can support up to 4 keyboards when the Multi-keyboard setting is set. When there is only one keyboard being used, the address much be set as 1, or you will not be able to control the keyboard. 9600 BPS when con nectin g with the mat rix; and must use NOTICE 4.1.1-1 shows. The keyboard message menu will display the keyboard's parameter setting,the keyboard model, ID address, the Keyboard protocol and the keyboard baud rate. Keyboard Parameter Setting 4. 2 Dome setting Press 【PREV】to go back to the former menu. You will need to refer to the matrix and PTZ camera/dome manuals to help complete the setup using the keyboard. Some parameters to be set my differ depending on the camera/dome used. NO TICE 4.2.1 Dome preset setting En ter the main m enu, as LCD show s t h e f o l l o w i n g (Pic ture 4.1.1-1) Press 【 2 】 to e nter dome setting m enu, as Af ter entering th e c a m e r a ' s prese t menu , the joystick w ill con trol th e c a m e r a directly, at th is tim e the k eys in t h e lens co ntrol area also ca n co ntrol th e c a m e r a lens , the ope ration of the j oysti ck and the key s a r e inva lid for the do me und er the ge neral m enu mode. 4.2.2 Dome scan setting Press '2' to enter the calling preset menu, the LCD will display the following as shown in Picture 4.2.1-5. LCD shows t h e f o l l o w i n g (Picture 4.2.1-1); move joys tic k up an d down to separately set t h e d ome pres et, s can, p attern and tour. 1、Set dome preset 2、Set dome scan 3、Set dome pattern 4、Set dome tour Picture 4.2.1-1 Press 【 1 】 to en ter dome preset setting, as LC D shows i n (Pictu re4.2.1-1). 【 1 】 Input corresponding preset number, press 【Enter】 to call preset, LCD will show ( Success ) tilt the joystick left or press【Prev】 to back to the former menu. Press 【3 】to enter the clearing preset menu, As LCD shows (Picture 4.2.1-6) Preset num: (1-255) Pic ture 4.2.1-2 Picture 4.2.1-6 item calls dome preset; the third item clears the dome preset. Choose Picture 4. 2.1-5 1、Save preset 2、Show preset 3、Clear preset The first item is t o s a v e t h e setting dome preset; the second Preset num: (1-255) to enter preset setting, this item requires inputting the preset number that you want to save, t h e LCD w i l l d i s p l a y w h a t i s s h o w n i n Picture 4.2.1-3 Preset num: (1-255) Press prev to back Picture 4.2.1-3 After entering the setting dome preset menu, the joystick will control the dome directly. Choose the second item (Set right limit), i t i s t h e same operation w h e n s e t t i n g left limit. Back to scan menu, then press【3】to run scan. Choose the second item (as picture 4.2.4-2 shows) to input presets that you need to insert in a tour. Inputting a preset speed in the second item: Input range i s b e t w e e n 1-127. Input t h e preset park time in the third item:input range between 1-255 Press 【Enter】 to confirm, LCD will show Success and w i l l g o back to the former menu, it means the operation of adding preset is successful. 1、Preset num:_ 2、speed: 3、dwell: Pattern setting: after entering the pattern menu, to move the dome in an appropriate position, press 【1】 to start to record pattern tour.
