New My-Ti Tweeter
• Stiff, light and with high efficiency, the new Mylar ® /titanium-composite tweeter offers far better high-frequency performance without the high-Q breakup mode associated with metal domes and cones.
Edge-driven tweeters
• With more voice-coil surface area to dissipate heat, these tweeters provide higher power handling than smaller balanced- dome tweeters.
Reduced nominal impedance
• The new GTO speakers have a nominal impedance of 2 ohms. Therefore, they extract all the power from amplifiers and head units, which are normally designed to increase their power when driving 2-ohm loads. The actual minimum impedance of GTO speakers is around 3 ohms, thus offering enough safety against potential overheating of low-quality BTL amps in less expensive head units.
Low-Q woofer design
• The improved woofer parameters (lower Qts) offer good bass extension and better transient response in typical mounting locations (e.g., doors and rear package tray).
Plus One
®
(Patent Pending) cones
• By offering more cone surface than competing models of the same size, the new GTO speakers provide higher efficiency and better bass response.
UniPivot
TM
(Patent No. 6,002,780) Rotating Tweeter
• The tweeter is mounted in a 15° angle and can be rotated to point at the listening position. This leads to more uniform high-frequency response between left and right channels for speakers mounted in off-axis factory locations (GTO528,
GTO628, GTO6528, GTO8628, GTO928 only).
New 165mm shallow-mount speaker model
• The new JBL ® GTO6528S speaker was developed for easy fitting. It comes with a reduced mounting depth of only 44mm.
Built-in Tweeter-Level control
• Most models feature a switch to reduce tweeter output level to match personal listening preference or different mounting locations.
