R5 Navigation System GNSS and DGNSS Navigators SAM Electronics R5 Navigation System R5 GNSS/DGNSS Navigation Sensor Versatile, Accurate and Reliable For any application, from work boat manoeuvring to worldwide navigation, from hydrographic surveying to marking of fishing grounds - the two models of our series of professional GNSS and DGNSS navigators has been designed to exactly suit your needs. Depending on your precision requirements you can choose between the GNSS and DGNSS sensors with antennas for combining it with the main display and control unit. Each combination offers IMO compliant accuracy and meets the latest requirements stated in IMO MSC.112(73), MSC.113(73), MSC.114(73) and MSC.115(73). So easy to operate, so versatile in its applications, so reliable due to its rugged and splashproof concept - it is amazing how much functionality fits into this compact marine navigator. Four RS422 interface channels with an unmatched variety of optional settings establish the R5 SUPREME NAV to be used as the center of navigation in small boats or as a viable data supplier for other navigation aids like the PLATINUM Integrated Navigation System or standalone electronic chart systems like the ECDISPILOT. Due to its flexible output, including legacy data formats, R5 Navigators can easily be retrofitted into existing systems. Furthermore the R5 can easily be upgraded with additional features when new software becomes available. R5 Control and Display Unit For the R5 SUPREME NAV use, just connect the included pre-manufactured cables from the Control and Display Unit and the Sensor to the R5 NAV Junction Box. Supply power to the display and the Junction Box on separate fuses and interface with the serial ports for standard IEC 61162 NMEA bi-directional communication inside the Junction Box. Finally connect the antenna to the sensor via coax. The antenna is designed to reduce interferences to reliably operate in the typical multitransmitter environment on board of a ship. SAM Electronics and its sales and engineering organization will be glad to assist you in defining the installation locations of system components and configuration for your requirements. 2 Features n 7” ultra-bright high contrast colour touch LCD n Touch, keypad or USB keyboard control n Two trip log counters with indication of average speed and accumulated time during motion n DGNSS by SBAS or externally input RTCM corrections n BSH type approval, EC type approval (MED / Wheel mark) USCG type approval n Straight forward, easy to operate control panel n Advanced navigation features for commercial vessels n Support for multiple displays and redundant systems n Small receiver and antenna, easy to install n Packaged in a ruggedized and weatherproof enclosure n Full RAIM function n Prediction of tide Beacon Navigation authorities around the world have installed DGNSS radiobeacon networks that broadcast free RTCM correction information. With the use of its built-in beacon demodulator, the DGNSS sensor uses these real-time corrections to deliver accurate, reliable positioning when in range of a beacon transmitter and can be controlled by the operator to accept RTCM data from external sources using the R5 Control and Display Unit (CDU). RAIM Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM) is a safety feature in the sensor unit which continuously verifies the integrity of the GNSS system to ascertain its accuracy and reliability. When position errors exceeds a preset limit, the CDU alerts the operator to take precautionary measures. This RAIM feature can be accessed by the operator using the CDU. R4 GNSS Navigation Sensor The R4 GNSS Navigation Sensor is a highprecision GNSS receiver, capable of receiving WAAS, EGNOS and MSAS differential corrections. The unit performs continuous RAIM calculations to monitor the integrity of the position data. R4 DGNSS Navigation Sensor The R4 DGNSS Navigation Sensor is the ultimate sensor for any commercial marine application. This product has all the features of the GNSS sensor and a dual channel beacon receiver for reception of IALA beacon differential corrections.
