The FS 209 A is an anniversary edition to celebrate the 80th year of ELAC.

The FS 209 A is an elegant version of the hugely successful FS 209.2. This anniversary edition incorporates our ideas of authentic music reproduction, beautiful design and the quality of manufacture made in Germany.

Of course, this loudspeaker only features innovative drive units that are manufactured in

ELACs production department in Kiel. The special drive units offer outstanding soundstages and perfect precision.

Technical features and benefits:

• The JET III tweeter features a neodymium magnet system, and offers a strong drive. Due to its new ribbon geometry, the JET III tweeter provides a cut-off frequency of 50 kHz.

• Dome midrange driver with waveguide for improved dispersion pattern and high efficiency.

• Two high-power 180 mm woofers in aluminium sandwich design with new capton bobbin and broad rubber surround (DAS) for high efficiency, perfect stiffness of the diaphragm, perfect drive, optimum large signal behaviour and deep, dry strong bass.

• Reinforced and dampened cabinet ensures minimum resonances.

• Computer-optimized frequency range. networks for improved sound power provide for optimum and homogenous directional characteristics regarding the

• The bass port’s double flare design minimises air noise and friction losses.

The ELAC bass control plug may be used to achieve more precise bass reproduction.

• Superior ELAC bi-wiring terminals with separate circuit boards for bass and treble circuits. The inclined binding posts are easy to access and allow larger cable diameters (16 qmm), as well as high-quality spade connectors

(e.g. WBT products).

• As a standard, the FS 209 A is offered with a bottom plate on adjustable ELAC spikes / rubber feet.

• This loudspeaker can be used for freestanding setups in large room environments due to its sensitivity of 89 dB and its maximum sound level of 109 dB/1m.
