Product Overview

The Peripheral Interface Module (Model PIM-

1) from Siemens Industry, Inc.

Fire Safety is a MXL-option module that provides an isolated

RS-232C port for connection to peripheral devices (e.g.

─ serial printers).

Mounting Data

Model PIM-1 mounts on four (4) standoffs in the MXL enclosure; connects to Model MMB-1 or Model MMB-2, and provides a screwterminal block for field wiring.

Specifications

Connection between the Siemens Industry,

Inc . ─ Fire Safety MXL system and remote peripheral devices (i.e.

─ printers) shall be provided by Model PIM-1. Model PIM-1 shall mount in the MXL enclosure, and shall provide a standard screw-terminal block for field wiring.

The interface shall be RS-232C and provide ground isolation between the MXL panel and the peripheral devices.

Temperature and Humidity Range

Model NET-4 is UL 864 9 th Edition Listed for indoor dry locations within a temperature range of 120+/-3°F (49+/-2°C) to 32+/-3°F

(0+/-2°C) and a relative humidity of 93+/-2% at a temperature of 90+/-3°F (32+/-2°C).

Notes:

1.) Terminals TB1-8 and 9 are internally connected on Model PIM-1.

2.) The busy signal from the printer prevents the loss of characters if the printer falls behind.

Refer to the printer manual for the proper pin [usually 11 (TB-1-3) or 20 (TB1-9)].
