Take a moment before you get started to familiarize yourself with your new headset.

NOTE:

Supported Bluetooth profiles:

• Advanced Audio Distribution Profile

• Audio/Video Remote Control Profile

• Headset Profile

• Hands-Free Profile

Put your headset in pairing mode

Before you can use your headset, you must pair it with your phone.

• If you turn on the headset for the first time,

it proceeds into pairing mode immediately.

• If you have paired the headset with other

Bluetooth devices, make sure that the headset

is off (see Turn headset on or off on the reverse

side of this guide). Then turn on the headset with

pressing and holding . After the indicator

sequentially flashes blue, red, and purple twice,

it will turn to blue.

Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and pair with headset

1 Set your Bluetooth phone to discover the

headset by following your phone user’s guide.

Typically, the steps involve going to the Settings,

Connection, or Bluetooth menu on your

phone and then selecting the option to discover

Bluetooth devices.

Your phone will find the Samsung SBH500

headset.

2 Select Samsung SBH500.

3 When the phone asks if you want to pair with it,

confirm by selecting Yes or OK.

4 Enter the headset passkey or PIN, 0000.

Charge the headset's battery fully before using the headset for the first time.

1 Open the adapter jack cover and plug the

travel adapter into the adapter jack.

2 Plug the travel adapter into the AC wall

outlet.

• Charge the headset until the red light on the

headset turns to blue.

• The headset will be fully charged in approximately

3 hours.

NOTES:

• The headset cannot be used while charging.

• Use only a Samsung-approved charger or adapter.

Test and use

Your phone and headset are now paired and ready to make and receive calls. To confirm they are operating properly, make a call:

1 Place the headset over your ear.

See Wear the headset on the reverse

side of this guide.

2 On your phone, make a call to the number

you want.

3 If your phone and headset are successfully

paired, you will hear ringing on the headset.

After you have successfully paired your phone and headset, you do not need to repeat these initial setup steps each time you use the headset.

Turn the headset on or off

To turn the headset on,

Push the ON/OFF switch .

After the indicator sequentially flashes blue, red, and purple twice, it will flash in blue every 3 seconds. The headset is now in Standby mode.

To turn the headset off,

Push the ON/OFF switch .

Button functions

Button Functions

Press or press and hold to perform various call-related functions, such as dialling, answering, rejecting, holding, and ending calls.

Press or press and hold to start, pause, resume or stop music playback.

Press to adjust the earpiece volume during a call or speaker volume during music playback.

Press or press and hold to move back and forth between music tracks or in a music track.

Wear the headset

Place the headset on your ear.

Be sure to put the correct (Left, Right) earpiece on each ear.

Troubleshooting

My phone does not find my headset.

Make sure the blue indicator light on your headset turns on when your phone is searching for devices.

My headsest worked before but now it is

not working.

Make sure your phone is on and the Bluetooth feature is turned on in your phone.

If the Bluetooth feature has been turnned off or was turned on only temporarily, you may need to restart the Bluetooth feature.

If you have confirmed the Bluetooth feature is on in your phone, pair your phone and headset again.

Make calls

Dial a number by voice

1 Press and hold . You will hear the voice-activation

tone.

2 Say the name of the person you wish to call.

NOTE:

This is available only when your headset and the phone are connected by the Hands-free profile, and the phone supports voice recognition.

Redial the last number

Press to redial the last number.

For some phones, pressing opens the call log list.

You can press to scroll through the list and then press to dial the selected number.

End a call

Press .

Answer a call

Press when the phone rings.

Reject a call

Press and hold when the phone rings.

NOTE:

This is available only when your headset and the phone are connected by the Hands-free profile, and the phone supports call rejecting.

Adjust the volume

Press to increase or decrease the volume level while talking.

Use enhanced features

Mute the microphone

Press and hold .

Press and hold again to turn the microphone back on.

Place a call on hold

Press and hold .

Answer a second call

Press and hold when the phone sounds a call waiting tone.

The first call is placed on hold.

Switch between two calls

Press and hold .

Listen to music

Play music

Press . The music player launches and the music starts.

For some phones, the phone may ask you if you want to listen to music via the headset. Confirm the message by selecting Yes or OK.

Pause or resume music

Press to pause or resume playback.

Adjust the volume

Press to increase or decrease the volume level while listening to music.

Stop music

Press and hold .
