You can preview files and folders on local hard drives, network drives, floppy diskettes, Zip disks, CDs, and DVDs, as well as the contents of forensic images stored on the local machine or on a network drive.

To create a forensic image of a hard drive, you'll need to use a hardware-based write-blocker to prevent accidental or intentional manipulation of the original evidence. Then, use the "Create Disk Image" function within the FTK Imager menu.

FTK Imager supports mounting the following image formats: RAW/dd, E01, S01, AFF, AD1, and L01. Full disk images (RAW/dd, E01, and S01) can be mounted physically, while partitions within full disk images and custom content images (AD1 and L01) can be mounted logically.
