IWTS-4 LCR-IP In-Wall Speaker System

Great Sound and

IP-Addressability

In a Compact Size

Atlantic has introduced an exciting new variant of their popular IWTS-4 LCR speakers. The new version is

“IP” (Internet Protocol) addressable, which means it’ll integrate seamlessly with the NetStreams™ whole-house distributed and networked high-quality Audio/Video and

Control systems.

The new IP version of this speaker has a two-position toggle switch on the back on the crossover PCB that allows it to be used either as a regular Atlantic in-wall speaker, connected to a conventional audio system the way you always have or you can connect them to a NetStreams system using the on-board Phoenix connector.

The new IP version of the IWTS-4 LCR-IP speaker is a

dual-duty speaker:

1. It can be used the same way you’ve always used it, hooking it up with speaker wire to the speaker terminals in a ‘regular’ system, or

2. It connects to the NetStreams system by flipping the switch and using the NetStreams Phoenix connector.

We’ve brought this advancement to you at no additional cost. The IWTS-4 LCR-IP is otherwise identical to its predecessor in every way—the same great Atlantic Low

Resonance Tweeter (LRT™) for super-wide dispersion and unparalleled placement flexibility, the same highpower 6 ½” woofer, the same small footprint for an unobtrusive installation.

A little more detail about Atlantic’s renowned 1” soft-dome Low Resonance Tweeter (LRT™): Because of its low crossover point, this remarkable tweeter allows the IWTS-4 LCR-IP to deliver much wider midrange dispersion than conventional in-wall speakers for greater placement flexibility, without the severe acoustic and mechanical drawbacks of the so-called “pivoting tweeter.”

The woofer in conventional in-wall speakers handles too much of the midrange and woofers send out the midrange like a flashlight beam—pretty much only straight ahead, with very little side-to-side or up-and-down.

Because of this, Atlantic has engineered an extremely sophisticated tweeter (the Low Resonance Tweeter, or LRT™), and it can play most of the middle tones as well, thereby relieving the woofer of having to do what woofers can’t do.

The LRT spreads out the midrange sound over a much wider angle than the woofer, so the IWTS-4 LCR-IP covers the entire listening area beautifully in both the midrange and treble, even when it’s mounted high up on the wall. We know of no similarly-priced in-wall speaker that can match its performance.

The IWTS-4 LCR-IP uses a separate baffle/frame installation assembly, so the frame and grille can be installed first and painted to match the room at the time the walls are being painted. The speaker baffle simply screws into the frame at a later date. Very convenient.

A 3-position High Frequency switch located on the baffle lets the user tailor the speaker’s sound to the room’s acoustics, or to adjust the HF balance for personal taste. For the perfect finishing touch, the IWTS-4 LCR-IP incorporates an aluminum tweeter faceplate with a precision horn, which optimizes the tweeter’s dispersion and gives the speaker an unmistakably consistent family appearance in keeping with our more expensive in-wall models.
