Install the clevis (10) and secure it with the clevis pin (14) at the top and the pivot pin (13) at the bottom. Secure the pins with the retaining rings (6). 2. Apply thread sealant to the connecting rod (21) and screw it tightly into the pump head (19). 3. Connect the dispense kit (includes items 26–30) to the pump head. 4. Remove the lubricant pail cover. With the lip of the follow plate grommet (42b) UP, center the follow plate in the pail. 5. Insert the pump through the cover (41) and the follow plate. Center the cover on the pail and tighten the thumbscrews (34). 6. Adjust the pump so it rests on the bottom of the pail. Screw the holster (37) into the opening on the cover Operation Greasing a Fitting WARNING The maximum delivery pressure of this dispenser is 3000 psi (210 bar). The maximum delivery pressure of the lubricator gun, when charged and disconnected from the dispenser, is 10,000 psi (700 bar). Fluid emitted under such high pressure can cause serious injury. See the warnings on page 3. 1. Wipe clean the coupler and the grease fitting on the part to be lubricated. 2. Connect the hose or gun coupler to the grease fitting. Charging the Dispenser 1. Slowly raise the lever handle to the fully upward position to ensure a full stroke. 2. Allow the lubricant to be drawn into the pump piston and riser tube, and then push the lever handle down. Charging the Lubricator Gun 1. Connect the dispense hose coupler to the gun’s grease fitting. 2. Continuous delivery from the gun: Keep the hoses connected to the gun. Squeeze the gun handle and continue pumping the dispenser. Continuous delivery from the dispenser hose: Pump the handle the entire time you are dispensing. High pressure delivery, or remote dispensing: Charge the gun. Remove the dispenser hose. CAUTION To avoid damaging the the coupler, do not pull it straight off. Make sure that you twist the coupler while removing it. Never force lubricant into a fitting. If the lubricant is not flowing, or the coupler clogs, STOP DISPENSING IMMEDIATELY. Forcing lubricant may cause excessive back pressure, which could cause component rupture and serious injury. Replace damaged grease fittings. Service After extended use, if the pump does not deliver lubricant sufficiently and/or the lever handle feels soft and spongy when it is push downward, service the pump piston (23) and the piston ball (5). 3. Insert a screwdriver into the slot at the bottom of the piston (23). Unscrew the piston. Do not lose the ball (5), spring (12), or ball stop (2), which will fall out as the piston is removed. 1.
