Model line-up
In keeping with its “High Speed Off-Roader” design concept, NATIVA / PAJERO SPORT /
MONTERO SPORT combines a powerful engine with rugged suspension and terrain-covering
capabilities. To meet a wider range of consumer needs and preferences, a variety of engine
types, transmission types and seating layouts are available. Initially, only the 3.2-liter diesel
version of NATIVA / PAJERO SPORT / MONTERO SPORT will be released; the 3.5-liter gasoline
and 2.5-liter diesel versions are scheduled for release in late 2008 and early 2009, respectively.

The exterior of NATIVA / PAJERO SPORT / MONTERO SPORT marks it clearly as part of the
Mitsubishi lineup, sporting the same sleekly aggressive front face, muscular fenders, and
sweeping bodylines as Mitsubishi’s other on- and off-road vehicles. If the Pajero can be thought
of as the lion, king of the jungle, then the NATIVA / PAJERO SPORT / MONTERO SPORT holds
the position of the speedy and efficient cheetah. The high suspension and large wheels give it
an edge when covering rough off-road terrain, while the attractive form, seamless construction,
extensive styling amenities make it a stand-out when driving downtown as well.
The front achieves a balance of toughness and energy, with a design that allows high-speed
off-roading by helping guard against rocks or other flying debris, for example. The energetic
design continues along the sides, with the front overfenders and rear blister fenders, high
ground clearance and confident profile styling giving NATIVA / PAJERO SPORT / MONTERO
SPORT a particularly dynamic appearance. From the rear, the high position of the sharplooking combination lamps complete the ensemble, marking NATIVA / PAJERO SPORT /

injection system for higher power and improved fuel efficiency,
the 3.2-liter diesel engine delivers an impressive 163PS output.
Common Rail direct injection feeds a high-pressure precisely
measured fuel supply directly to the cylinders, ensuring each
receives the optimal amount. Electronically controlled injection
with feedback optimizes fuel dispersion within the combustion
chambers, allowing the system to make continual adjustments
to always run at peak efficiency. The result is controlled power
output, with minimal emissions.

The steering column helps protect drivers in frontal
collisions by collapsing away from the interior to
reduce the chance of driver injury, while the lower
steering shaft compresses to absorb impact energy.

The front and 2nd-row seats are equipped with ELR (Emergency Locking
Retractor) seatbelts to hold occupants securely in sudden stops. In a collision,
pretensioners tighten as the airbags deploy to minimize movement, while
