!
L —
—Positlon ‘2’ may be referred to as “NORMAL” as it enables the
machine to answer incoming calls in a reasonably short lime. The
machine answers the call on the second ring.
—Position "6" makes the machine answer on the 6th ring.
— Position "AUTO", known as "Toil saver’, benefits you. Although the
machine will answer an incoming call after either second or 6th ring as
normal, it aiso indicates to you {when ringing in}, if there are any
messages. (See page 43.)
If the machine answers after second ring, you will know that there is at
least one message. If it continues to ring (into the third and fourth ring) the
indication is that there are no messages and you can “ring oft” before the
machine answers, thus saving a charge i.e. “Toll saving”.
"NORMAL" switch position should generally be selected unless you
specitically wish to take advantage of the “toll saver facility”.
Callers are generally accustomed to their calls being answered within
10 seconds and most callers abandon the call in under 45 seconds if no
reply is obtained. This machine will answer incoming calls in under
10 seconds if required.
