The Range Hood Wall Remote Control allows you to remotely control your range hood and room light at the touch of a button.

Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or by a homeowner who is familiar with electrical circuitry. If there are any questions, consult an electrician.

Tools you will need:

• Flat-blade screwdriver • Phillips screwdriver • Wire cutter/stripper • Votage tester (to identify wire inside the junction box) • Optional: #1 Phillips screwdriver

(to change paddle color - sold separately)

If range hood is LinkLogic ® capable, then a Model ACBLL must be purchased separately.

INSTALLATION

Step 1.

At the circuit breaker or fuse panel, disconnect the power for all of the circuits in the switch junction box.

Step 2. (existing construction only)

Remove the faceplate from the device junction box, then unscrew the switch or outlet and pull it out of the junction box.

Step 3. (existing construction only)

Disconnect the wires from the switch you are replacing and ensure you have

1/2” of bare wire on the ends.

Step 4.

If you are installing the control into a two-way circuit (where one switch controls the load), follow the diagram below to identify and connect the LINE, LOAD,

NEUTRAL, and GROUND wires. If the colors of the wires do not match the diagram, be sure you have identified the wires correctly before connecting them.

Step 5.

If you are installing the control into a multi-way circuit (where more than one switch controls the load), consult the User’s Guide.

Step 6.

Ensure that all wire connectors (included) are fimly attached and that there is no exposed copper except for the GROUND wire.

Step 7.

Orient the control with the ON button on top, place it into the junction box, and screw it in place.

Step 8.

Turn the circuit breaker back on or reinstall the fuse.

Step 9. (If you have the control attached to a room light)

Test that it is working properly. Turn the light on and off by pressing the Room

Light ON and OFF buttons.

Step 10.

Reinstall the faceplate.

SETTING UP WALL REMOTE CONTROL

Step 1.

Verify that PLM Board is installed in range hood. If not, purchase and install a Model ACBLL.

Step 2.

Press and maintain the “Link-Mode” push-button on the Range Hood for 2 seconds; Link Mode should be activated. On some Hood models an icon of the Interface should be turned ON. See hood manual.

Step 3.

At this point it is possible to link a LinkLogic ® control to the Range Hood or Erase all the linked devices.

Link Remote Control to a Range Hood

(1) On the Remote Control - Press and maintain the “Light Off” pushbutton for 10 seconds or until its backlighting flashes (“beep” should also be heard).

(2) On the Range Hood - Push and release the “Link-Mode” push-button to start the linking process (On some hood models flashing “A” will be visible on the Interface until link is done).

Step 4.

On the Range Hood - Press and maintain the “Link-Mode” push-button for 2 seconds to exit “Link” mode or wait 4 minutes.

NOTE: To link more than one control, restart from step 1.

Step 5.

Test that the remote control is working properly by turning ON and OFF the blower and the RangeHood lights - and if applicable, the room light.

If link did not work - erase all the linked devices following Steps 5 &

6 - then go back to Step 1.

Step 6.

On the Range Hood - Push the “Erase Link” push button for 2 seconds to start the “Erase-link” process, (on some hood models flashing “E” will be visible on the Interface until links are erased.)

Step 7.

To initialize the Control: Lift and release the SET Button tab, then push it for 3 seconds or until “beep” is heard. When the tab is released the remote control, confirms initialization by turning ON the backlight of the

“ROOM LIGHT ON and OFF” button. Press the “ROOM LIGHT OFF” button to stop the flashing. Initialization of the remote control is now completed.

USING WALL REMOTE CONTROL

• Tap the ROOM LIGHT ON button to turn the room light on (if applicable).

• Tap the ROOM LIGHT OFF button to turn the room light off (if applicable).

• Tap the FAN button to turn the Range Hood fan on.

• When the Fan is on, tap the FAN button to increase the fan speed.

• Tap the FAN OFF button to turn the fan off.

• Tap the LIGHT button to turn the Range Hood light on.

• When the Lights are on, tap the LIGHT button to increase the light intensity.

• Tap the LIGHT OFF button to turn the Range Hood light off.

NOTE: The Range Hood requires a 3-second pause between presses of the same button on the remote control. If two successive presses of the same button occur inside those 3 seconds, only one press will be taken care of. This doesn’t apply to presses of different buttons on the remote control or on the same button from 2 different remote controls.

NOTE

The NEUTRAL wire will not normally be connected to the switch you are replacing. If there is no NEUTRAL wire in the junction box, please consult an electrician or call: 800-558-1711

INSTALLATION

Étape 1.

Dans le panneau de disjoncteurs ou de fusibles, coupez l’alimentation de tous les circuits présents dans la boîte de jonction.

Étape 2. (habitation déjà construite seulement)

Enlevez la plaque de façade de la boîte de jonction de l’appareil, puis dévissez l’interrupteur ou la prise et sortez-le de la boîte.

Étape 3. (habitation déjà construite seulement)

Déconnectez les fils de l’interrupteur que vous remplacez et assurez-vous qu’il sont dénudés sur 1,3 cm (1/2 po) aux extrémités.

Étape 4.

Si vous installez la commande dans un circuit à deux voies (où un interrupteur commande la charge), suivez le schéma ci-dessous pour identifier et connecter les fils de TENSION, CHARGE, NEUTRE et TERRE. Si les couleurs des fils ne correspondent pas à celles du schéma, assurez-vous d’identifier correctement les fils avant de les connecter.

Étape 5.

Si vous installez la commande dans un circuit à voies multiples (où plusieurs interrupteurs commandent la charge), consultez le Guide de l’utilisateur.

Étape 6.

Assurez-vous que les connecteurs (inclus) sont fermement fixés et qu’il n’y a aucune partie en cuivre d’exposée parmi les fils, à l’exception du fil de TERRE.

Étape 7.

Placez la commande de sorte que le bouton ON (marche) soit en haut, insérezla dans la boîte de jonction et vissez-la.

Étape 8.

Réenclenchez le disjoncteur ou remettez le fusible.

Étape 9. (Si la commande est jumelée à l’éclairage de la pièce)

Vérifiez si la commande fonctionne correctement. Allumez et éteignez l’éclairage à l’aide des boutons ON et OFF (marche et arrêt).

Étape 10.

Reposez la plaque de façade.

CONFIGURATION DE LA

TÉLÉCOMMANDE MURALE

Étape 1.

Vérifiez que le circuit PLM est installé dans la hotte. Dans le cas contraire, achetez et installez un modèle ACBLL.

Étape 2.

Maintenez enfoncé le bouton « Link-Mode » (mode liaison) sur la hotte pendant 2 secondes; le mode liaison est alors activé. Sur certains modèles de hotte, une icône de l’interface doit être ACTIVÉE. Consultez le manuel de la hotte.

Étape 3.

Il est possible à cette étape de lier une commande LinkLogic ® à la hotte ou d’effacer tous les dispositifs de liaison.

Liaison de la télécommande à la hotte de cuisine

(1) Sur la télécommande - maintenez enfoncé le bouton « Light Off »

(éteindre éclairage) pendant 10 secondes ou jusqu’à ce que le rétroéclairage clignote (un « bip » se fait entendre).

(2) Sur la hotte - appuyez sur le bouton « Link-Mode » (mode liaison) puis relâchez-le pour commencer le processus de liaison (sur certains modèles, un « A » clignotant apparaît sur l’interface jusqu’à ce que la liaison soit

établie).

Étape 4.

Sur la hotte - maintenez enfoncé le bouton « Link-Mode » (mode liaison) pendant 2 secondes pour quitter le mode liaison ou attendez 4 minutes.

REMARQUE : Pour lier plusieurs télécommandes, recommencez à l’étape 1.

Étape 5.

Vérifiez si la télécommande fonctionne correctement en allumant et

éteignant le ventilateur et l’éclairage de la hotte – et, le cas échéant, l’éclairage de la pièce.

Si la liaison ne fonctionne pas - effacez tous les dispositifs liés après les

étapes 5 et 6, puis reprenez à l’étape 1.

Étape 6.

Sur la hotte - a ppuyez sur le bouton « Erase-Link » (effacer la liaison) pendant 2 secondes pour amorcer le processus d’effacement, (sur certains modèles, un « E » clignotant apparaît sur l’interface jusqu’à ce que les liaisons soient effacées).

Étape 7.

Pour initialiser la télécommande : Soulevez et relâchez l’onglet du bouton

CONFIGURATION, puis maintenez-le enfoncé pendant 3 secondes ou jusqu’

à ce qu’un « bip » se fasse entendre. Lorsque vous relâchez l’onglet, la télécommande confirme l’initialisation en allumant le rétroéclairage du bouton « ROOM LIGHT ON / OFF » (éclairer / éteindre la pièce).

UTILISATION DE LA TÉLÉCOMMANDE MURALE

• Appuyez sur le bouton ROOM LIGHT ON pour allumer l’éclairage de la pièce

(le cas échéant).

• Appuyez sur le bouton ROOM LIGHT OFF pour éteindre l’éclairage de la pièce

• Appuyez sur le bouton FAN pour actionner le ventilateur de la hotte.

• Le ventilateur étant en marche, appuyez sur le bouton FAN (ventilateur) pour augmenter sa vitesse.

• Appuyez sur le bouton FAN OFF (pour arrêter le ventilateur).

• Appuyez sur le bouton LIGHT pour allumer l’éclairage de la hotte.

• L’éclairage étant allumé, appuyez sur le bouton LIGHT pour augmenter l’intensité de l’éclairage.

• Appuyez sur le bouton LIGHT OFF pour éteindre l’éclairage de la hotte.

REMARQUE : La hotte, exige une pause de 3 secondes avant que vous appuyez sur le même bouton de la télécommande. Cette remarque s’applique uniquement aux pressions multiples d’un même bouton sur la même télécommande.

REMARQUE

Normalement, le fil NEUTRE n’est pas connecté à l’interrupteur que vous remplacez. S’il n’y a pas de fil NEUTRE dans la boîte de jonction, consultez un électricien ou appelez au :

INSTALACIÓN

Paso 5.

Paso 6.

Paso 1.

Paso 2.

Paso 3.

Enlace del control remoto a una campana

(1) En el control remoto, oprima y sostenga el botón “Light Off” (luz apagada) durante 10 segundos, o hasta que la luz de fondo parpadee (también debe escucharse un sonido).

Paso 4.

En la campana, oprima y sostenga el botón “Link-Mode” (modo de enlace) durante 2 segundos para salir del modo de enlace, o espere 4 minutos.

NOTA: Para enlazar más de un control, vuelva a comenzar desde el paso 1.

Paso 5.

Pruebe que el control remoto funcione adecuadamente encendiendo y apagando el ventilador y las luces de la campana; si corresponde, también la luz de la habitación.

Si el enlace no funcionó, borre todos los dispositivos enlazados siguiendo los pasos 5 y 6; después regrese al paso 1.

Paso 6.

En la campana, oprima el botón “Erase-Link” (borrar enlace) durante

2 segundos para comenzar el proceso de borrar el enlace (en algunos modelos de campana podrá ver una “E” parpadeando en la interfaz hasta que se borren los enlaces).

Paso 7.

Para inicializar el control remoto: Levante y suelte la pestaña del botón SET

(configurar) y luego presiónela durante 3 segundos o hasta que escuche un sonido. Cuando suelte la pestaña, se confirma la inicialización al encender la luz de fondo del botón “ROOM LIGHT ON / OFF”.

USO DEL CONTROL REMOTO DE PARED

• Toque el botón ROOM LIGHT ON para encender la luz de la habitación

(si corresponde).

• Toque el botón ROOM LIGHT OFF para apagar la luz de la habitación

(si corresponde).

NOTA: La campana requiere una pausa de 3 segundos entre una presión y otra del mismo botón en el control remoto. Esto sólo se aplica cuando oprima sucesivamente el mismo botón en el mismo control remoto.

NOTA

FUSIBLES, FILTROS, CONDUCTOS, TAPONES DE TECHO O PAREDES Y DEMÁS ACCESORIOS PARA CONDUCTOS. Esta garantía no cubre (a) mantenimiento y servicio normales o (b) cualquier producto o piezas que hayan sido utilizadas de forma errónea, negligente, que hayan causado un accidente, o que hayan sido reparadas o mantenidas inapropiadamente (por otras compañías que no sean Broan-NuTone), instalación defectuosa, o instalación contraria a las instrucciones de instalación recomendadas.

La duración de cualquier garantía implícita se limita a un período de un año como se especifica en la garantía expresa. Algunos estados no permiten limitaciones en cuanto al tiempo de expiración de una garantía implícita, por lo que la limitación antes mencionada puede no aplicarse a usted.

LA OBLIGACION DE BROAN-NUTONE DE REPARAR O REEMPLAZAR, SIGUIENDO EL CRITERIO DE BROAN-NUTONE, DEBERA SER EL UNICO Y

EXCLUSIVO RECURSO LEGAL DEL COMPRADOR BAJO ESTA GARANTIA. BROAN-NUTONE NO SERA RESPONSABLE POR DAÑOS INCIDENTALES,

CONSIGUIENTES, O POR DAÑOS ESPECIALES QUE SURJAN A RAIZ DEL USO O DESEMPEÑO DEL PRODUCTO. Algunos estados no permiten la exclusión o limitación de daños incidentales o consiguientes, por lo que la limitación antes mencionada puede no aplicarse a usted.

Esta garantía le proporciona derechos legales específicos, y usted puede también tener otros derechos, los cuales varían de estado a estado. Esta garantía reemplaza todas las garantías anteriores.

Para calificar en la garantía de servicio, usted debe (a) notificar a Broan-NuTone al domicilio o al número de teléfono que se menciona abajo, (b) dar el número del modelo y la identificación de la pieza, y (c) describir la naturaleza de cualquier defecto en el producto o pieza. En el momento de solicitar servicio cubierto por la garantía, usted debe de presentar evidencia de la fecha original de compra.
