Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for

This product should not be placed in a builtin installation such as a bookcase or rack unless
proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer’s
instruction has been adhered to.
CAUTION concerning the Power Cord
Most appliances recommend they should be
placed upon a dedicated circuit;
That is, a single outlet circuit which powers only
that appliance and has no additional outlets or
branch circuits. Check the specification page of this
owner’s manual to be certain. Do not overload wall
outlets. Overloaded wall outlets, loose or damaged
wall outlets, extension cords, frayed power cords, or
damaged or cracked wire insulation are dangerous.
Any of these conditions could result in electric
shock or fire. Periodically examine the cord of your
appliance, and if its appearance indicates damage
or deterioration, unplug it, discontinue use of the
appliance, and have the cord replaced with an
exact replacement part by an authorized service
center. Protect the power cord from physical or
mechanical abuse, such as being twisted, kinked,
pinched, closed in a door, or walked upon. Pay
particular attention to plugs, wall outlets, and
the point where the cord exits the appliance. The
Power Plug is the disconnecting device. In case of
an emergency, the Power Plug must remain readily

(Pb) if the battery contains more than 0.0005%
of mercury, 0.002% of cadmium or 0.004% of
lead.
2. All batteries/accumulators should be disposed
separately from the municipal waste stream via
designated collection facilities appointed by the
government or the local authorities.
3. The correct disposal of your old batteries/
accumulators will help to prevent potential
negative consequences for the environment,
animal and human health.

of your old batteries/ accumulators, please
contact your city office, waste disposal service
or the shop where you purchased the product.

Safety way to remove the battery or the
battery from the equipment: Remove the
old battery or battery pack, follow the steps
in reverse order than the assembly. To prevent
contamination of the environment and bring on
possible threat to human and animal health, the
old battery or the battery put it in the appropriate
container at designated collection points. Do
not dispose of batteries or battery together with
other waste. It is recommended that you use
local, free reimbursement systems batteries and
accumulators. The battery shall not be exposed to
excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.

select the folder you want to play.
-- Chooses a preset number for a radio station.

3. Fix the unit to the tripod with the screw.
Tighten up the screw underneath the unit.
You can mount the unit on a tripod.
The tripod is optional purchase.

yy Extend the tripod legs as much as possible
and tighten up the screw securely.
yy Before connecting with the unit, you must
fix a tripod hard for not shaking.
1. Put down the unit to connect with the tripod.
4. Make the tripod stand upright carefully.
When you make the tripod stand upright,
you hold a body of the unit for avoiding unit’s
toppling.
2. After setting the tripod, insert a top of a
recommended tripod to a hole underneath the
unit.

specifications for maximum bearing load

Otherwise it may result in malfunction
and causing personal injury or property

yy Standing on the stool to reach unit control
panel is risky and might lead to injuries.
yy Do not put or attach other objects on the
tripod.

cables of the tripods before moving the
tripods or adjusting their height.
yy When transporting or moving the unit,
always use two or more people.
yy When you use the tripod, use an extension
cord. Always be careful the movement of

yy It is prohibited to use this unit outside.

yy Do not expose the unit to excessive
dust or vibrations, or extreme cold or
heat (such as in direct sunlight, near a
heater) to prevent the possibility of panel
disfiguration or damage to the internal
components.
yy Make sure the tripod is correctly
assembled and all its components are
tightly connected.
yy When using the external input cable (Mic,
etc.) after installing the unit on the tripod,
external input cable can cause the unit to
fall down.
yy Do not try to assemble the tripod if parts
are missing or defective.
yy Watch out the people can trip over the
input cable (Mic, etc.) connected the unit.
yy After installation, check whether the unit is
fixed firmly on the tripod or not.
yy Always be careful of the unit being
tripped.
yy Do not place the unit on an unstable
position where it might accidentally fall
over.
yy Add weight such as sand bags around the
tripod legs to prevent them from falling
over.

Listening to music from your
portable player or external device
The unit can be used to play the music from many
types of portable player or external device.
1. Connect the portable player to the PORT. IN
connector of the unit.
Or
Connect the external device to the AUX IN
connector of the unit.
2. Turn the power on by pressing 1 on the
remote control or 1/! on the unit.
3. Select the PORTABLE or AUX function by
pressing FUNCTION.
4. Turn on the portable player or external device
and start it playing.

If it is get over input than the input spec
(Refer to page 33), the unit might be off
automatically to protect itself.

If your device has only one output for audio(mono),
connect it to the left (white) audio jack on the unit.

1. Connect the USB device to the USB port.
2. Select the USB function by pressing FUNCTION
on the remote control or on the unit.

Searching for a folder
1. Press PRESET·FOLDER W/S on the remote
control repeatedly until a desired folder appears
in the display window.
2. Press d/M to play it. The first file of the folder
will be played.

Deleting an MP3/WMA file
AUTO DJ playback
You can delete file, folder or format by pressing
DELETE. This function is supported only in stop
status. (USB only)
Auto DJ blends the end of one song into the
beginning of another for seamless playback. It
equalizes volume across files for uninterrupted
playback.
1. Select the file you want to delete and press
DELETE on the remote control.
Press and hold DELETE to format the USB
device.
Or
Press DELETE repeatedly during selecting the
MP3/WMA file.
The display changes in the following order.

- DEL DIR : Deletes folder
- FORMAT : Formats USB
Press AUTO DJ on the remote control or AUTO DJ/
RDS on the unit repeatedly, the display changes
as followings. RANDOM (AUTO DJ RANDOM) ->
REPEAT ALL (AUTO DJ SEQUENTIAL) -> (AUTO DJ
OFF)

to search for a section within a file or to play
repeatedly or randomly.
yy If you move to other functions or stop the
music using I on the unit (or Z ENTER on
the remote control) on AUTO DJ mode,
AUTO DJ function will be disable.
yy AUTO DJ function is not supported in the
music file whose length is less than 60
seconds.
yy During recording, AUTO DJ function is not
available.
yy Only AUTO DJ SEQUENTIAL is selected
when played Program list.

Programmed Playback
Deleting Programmed list
The Program function enables you to make a
playlist of your favourite files from the USB device.
A playlist of up to 20 files can be entered for each
media. (USB1,USB2) Possible to save a total of 40
files.
Deleting function is worked only on the edit mode.
1. Press PROGRAM/MEMORY on the remote
control in stop status.
2. Press C/V on the remote control to select
a file.
3. Press PROGRAM/MEMORY to save and select a
next file.
5. Press PROGRAM/MEMORY once again.
To play the programmed list, press d/M after you
make the list.

When making or modifying the programmed
list, REPEAT mode is off.
2. Select a song by pressing PROGRAM/MEMORY
or PRESET·FOLDER W/S repeatedly.
3. Press DELETE while a song is selected.

yy Programmed list is cleared in the case

(You can modify the list by pressing
PRESET·FOLDER W/S to select the program
number.)

LG Sound Sync
With wireless connection
1. Turn on the unit by pressing 1 (Power) on the
remote control.
You can control some functions of this unit by
your TV’s remote control with LG Sound Sync. It is
compatible with the LG TV that is supported LG
Sound Sync. Make sure of the LG Sound Sync logo
on your TV.
Controllable function by LG TV’s remote control :
Volume up/down, mute
Refer to the TV’s instruction manual for the details
of LG Sound Sync.

Make one of the following connections, depending
on the capabilities of your equipment.

yy You can also use the remote control of
this unit while using LG Sound Sync. If you
use TV's remote control again, the unit
synchronizes with the TV.
yy When the connections failed, make sure of
the condition of the TV and power of it.
yy Make sure of the condition of this unit and
the connection in the cases below when
using LG Sound Sync.
-- Turned off the unit.
-- Changing the function to the others.
-- Disconnecting the wireless connection
caused by interference or a distance.
yy The amount of time to turn off this unit is
different depending on your TV.
yy If you try to change the function on using
the LG TV function, volume will be change
according to the LG TV volume level.
yy The device with Bluetooth® wireless
technology will be disconnected after a
certain period of time, if Sound Sync function
is selected. “LG Bluetooth Remote” app you’ve
already connected is disconnected either.
2. Select LG TV function by using FUNCTION on
the remote control until the function is selected.
3. Set up the sound output of TV to listen to the
sound through this unit :
TV setting menu [ [Sound] [ [TV Sound
output] [ [LG Sound Sync (Wireless)]
“PAIRED” appears on the display window for
about 3 seconds and then you can see “LG TV”
on the display window if connecting normally
between this unit and your TV.
AUTO POWER On
This unit automatically turns on by an input source :
LG TV or Bluetooth
If you try to connect your Bluetooth device, this

wireless technology does not incur any charges. A
mobile phone with Bluetooth® wireless technology
can be operated via the Cascade if the connection
was made via Bluetooth® wireless technology.

In order to use Bluetooth® wireless technology,

Listening to music stored on
the Bluetooth devices
Before you start the pairing procedure, make
sure the Bluetooth feature is turned on in to your
Bluetooth device. Refer to your Bluetooth device’s
user guide. Once a pairing operation is performed,
it does not need to be performed again.
1. Select the Bluetooth function by using the
FUNCTION.
“BT READY” appears on the display window.

pairing operation. When searching for this unit
with the Bluetooth device, a list of the devices
found may appear in the Bluetooth device
display depending on the type of Bluetooth
device. Your unit appears as “LG MINI(XX:XX)” .

XX:XX means the last four digits of BT address.
For example, if your unit has a BT address
such as 9C:02:98:4A:F7:08, you will see “LG
MINI(F7:08)” on your Bluetooth device.

your Bluetooth device, “BT PAIR” will appear on
the display window and bluetooth indicator will

1. Activates the NFC feature of your NFC-enabled

Deleting all the saved stations
1. Press and hold PROGRAM/MEMORY for two
seconds.
“ERASEALL” will flash up on the unit display.
2. Press PROGRAM/MEMORY to erase all the
saved radio stations.

2. Auto tuning :
Press and hold TUNING-/+ on the remote
control or Y/U on the unit for about two
seconds until the frequency indication starts to
change, then release. Scanning stops when the
unit tunes in a station.
The FM tuner is supplied with the RDS (Radio Data
System) facility. This shows information about the
radio station being listened to. Press RDS/SET
repeatedly to cycle through the various data types:

Presetting the Radio Stations
You can preset 50 stations for FM.
Before tuning, make sure to turn down the volume.
1. Press FUNCTION until FM appears in the display
window.
2. Press TUNING-/+ on the remote control or
Y/U on the unit to select a desired
frequency.
3. Press PROGRAM/MEMORY. A preset number
will blink in the display window.
4. Press PRESET·FOLDER W/S to select the
preset number you want.
5. Press PROGRAM/MEMORY. The station is
stored.
6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 to store other stations.
7. To listen a preset station, press PRESET·FOLDER
W/S or 0 to 9 numerical buttons.
PS (Programme Service Name)
The name of the channel will appear in
the display.
PTY (Programme Type Recognition)
The programme type (e.g. Jazz or News)
will appear in the display.
RT (Radio Text)
A text message contains special
information from the broadcast station.
This text may scroll across the display.
CT (Time controlled by the channel)
This shows the time as broadcast by the
station.
You can search the radio stations by programme
type by pressing RDS/SET. The display will show
the last PTY in use. Press PTY one or more times to
select your preferred programme type. Press and
hold C/V. The tuner will search automatically.
When a station is found the search will stop.

Turn off the sound temporarily
1. Connect your microphone to the MIC jack.

volume level.

Recording to USB
You can record a various sound source to USB.
(USB, AUX, PORTABLE, FM)
1. Connect the USB device to the unit.
2. Select a function in which you want to record
by pressing FUNCTION.
One file recording - You can record to USB after
playing a file you want.
All files recording - You can record to USB after
stop.
Programmed Playback list recording - After
showing Programmed Playback list, you can
record it to USB.
