Moving and Lifting the Monitor

When moving or lifting the monitor, follow these instructions to prevent the monitor from being scratched
or damaged and to ensure safe transportation regardless of its shape or size.
CAUTION
As far as possible, avoid touching the monitor

screen. This may result in damage to the screen or
some of the pixels used to create images.
It is advisable to place the monitor in the original
yy
box or packing material before attempting to
move it.
Before moving or lifting the monitor, disconnect
yy
the power cord and all cables.
Hold the top and bottom of the monitor frame
yy
firmly. Do not hold the panel itself.
If you use the monitor panel without the stand
yy
base, its joystick button may cause the monitor to
become unstable and fall, resulting in damage to
the monitor or human injury. In addition, this may
cause the joystick button to malfunction.
When holding the monitor, the screen should face
yy
away from you to prevent it being scratched.
When moving the monitor, avoid any strong shock
yy
or vibrations to the product.
When moving the monitor, keep it upright, never
yy
turn the monitor on its side or tilt it sideways.

holding the stand base. This may cause the monitor to fall off the stand and could result in personal injury.

the monitor screen. The force applied to the monitor screen may cause damage to it.
yy Do not apply foreign substances (oils, lubricants,
etc.) to the screw parts when assembling the
product. (Doing so may damage the product.)
yy Applying excessive force when tightening screws
may cause damage to the monitor. Damage
caused in this way will not be covered by the
product warranty.

You can disassemble the stand in the reverse order

Using the cable holder
Installing onto a table
Arrange the cables using the cable holder as shown in
the illustration.
1 Lift the monitor and place it on the table in an upright position.
Place at least 100 mm away from the wall to ensure
sufficient ventilation.

2 Connect the Power cord to the monitor, then plug
the power cord into the wall outlet.
3 Press the joystick button on the bottom of the
monitor to turn on the monitor.

Unplug the power cord prior to moving or installyy

3 Rotate the monitor clockwise as shown in the figure.

The pivot feature allows the monitor to rotate 90°
clockwise.

4 Complete the installation by rotating the monitor 90°
as shown below.

To avoid scratching the stand base, make sure

that when rotating the monitor using the pivot
feature, the stand does not make contact with
the monitor.
1 Raise the monitor to the maximum

2 Adjust the angle of the monitor in the direction of
the arrow as shown in the figure.
yy Auto Pivot feature of the display is not supported.
yy The screen can be rotated easily using the screen
pivot shortcut key provided with your Windows operating system. Note that some Windows versions
and some graphics card drivers may use different
settings for the screen pivot key or may not support the pivot key at all.

Installing the wall mount plate
The Kensington security system connector is located at
the back of the Monitor set.
For more information on installation and usage, refer to
the Kensington lock user manual or visit the website at
http://www.kensington.com.
This monitor supports the specification of the standard
wall mount plate or compatible device.
Connect the Kensington security system cable between
the Monitor set and a table.
1 Place the screen face down. To protect the screen
from scratches, cover the surface with a soft cloth.
2 Detaching the Stand Body.
3 Place the wall mount plate onto the monitor and
align it with the screw holes.
4 Tighten the four screws to fix the plate to the
monitor using a screwdriver.
NOTE
The wall mount plate is sold separately.

For more information on installation, refer to the

wall mount plate's installation guide.
Be careful not to use excessive force when
yy
mounting the wall mount plate, as this can damage the monitor's screen.
NOTE
Use of the Kensington lock is optional. The accesyy
sories can be purchased at your local electronics
store.

Install the monitor at least 100 mm away from the wall
and leave about 100 mm of space at each side of the
monitor to ensure sufficient ventilation. Detailed installation instructions can be obtained from your local retail
store. Please refer to the manual to install and set up a
tilting wall mounting bracket.

To install the monitor to a wall, attach a wall mounting
bracket (optional) to the back of the monitor.
Make sure that the wall mounting bracket is securely fixed
to the monitor and to the wall.
1 If you use screw longer than standard, the monitor
might be damaged internally.
2 If you use improper screw, the product might be damaged and drop from mounted position.
In this case, LG Electronics is not responsible for it.

DisplayPort connection
Connecting to a PC
Transmits the digital video and audio signals from your
PC to the monitor. Connect your PC to the monitor using the DisplayPort cable as illustrated below.
Press the menu button and then select the input option
from the input menu.
This monitor supports the *Plug and Play feature.

*Plug and Play: A feature that allows you to add
a device to your computer without having to
reconfigure anything or install any manual drivers.
HDMI connection
Transmits the digital video and audio signals from your
PC and A/V devices to the monitor. Connect your PC
and AV device to the monitor with the HDMI cable as
illustrated below.
Press the menu button and then select the input option
from the input menu.

There may be no video or audio output depending

Connecting Peripherals
The USB port on the product functions as a USB hub.
CAUTION
Cautions When Using a USB Device
A USB device with an automatic recognition

program installed or that uses its own driver may
not be recognized.
Some USB devices may not be supported or may

It is recommended to use a USB hub or hard disk

drive with an external power supply. (If the power
supply is not adequate, the USB device may not

To view the OSD menu, press the joystick button at the bottom of the monitor and then enter the Menu.
Configure the options by moving the joystick up/down/left/right.
To return to the upper menu or set other menu items, move the joystick to◄ or pressing ( / Ok) it.
If you want to exit the OSD menu, move the joystick to ◄ until you exit.
yy When you enter the menu, instructions on how to use the button will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Allows the user to adjust each element. The color mode of the main menu can be adjusted.
Reader
Optimizes the screen for viewing documents. You can brighten the screen in the OSD menu.

Optimizes the screen for photos.

Optimizes the screen for video.

Weakness
This mode is for users who cannot distinguish between red and green. It enables users
with color weakness to easily distinguish between the two colors.
FPS Game 1
This mode is optimized for FPS games.
FPS Game 2
It has a higher Black Stabilizer value than FPS Game 1. It is suitable for very dark FPS
games.
RTS Game
This mode is optimized for RTS Game.

In this mode, users can customize various elements including game-related options.

Brightness
Adjusts the brightness of the screen.
Contrast
Adjusts the contrast of the screen.
Sharpness
Adjusts the sharpness of the screen.
SUPER RESOLUTION+
High
Optimized picture quality is displayed when a user wants crystal clear
images. It is effective for high quality video or game.
Middle
The optimized picture quality is displayed when a user wants images
between low and high modes for comfortable viewing. It is effective
for UCC or SD video.
Low
The optimized picture quality is displayed when a user wants smooth and
natural images. It is effective for slow-moving pictures or still images.
Off
Select this option for everyday viewing. SUPER RESOLUTION+ is
turned off in this mode.
NOTE
yy Because this is a function to increase the sharpness of low resolution pictures,
it is not recommended to use the function for normal text or for desktop icons.
Doing so may result in unnecessarily high sharpness.

Sets the offset level (for HDMI only).
yy Offset: as a reference for a video signal, this is the darkest color the monitor can
display.

Keeps the current contrast ratio of the screen.

Lowers the black levels and raises the white levels from the current

Adjusts the brightness automatically according to the screen.
Off
Disables the DFC feature.
Sets a response time for displayed pictures based on the speed of the screen.
For a normal environment, it is recommended that you use Normal. For a fastmoving picture, it is recommended that you use Fast.
Setting to Fast may cause image sticking.

Sets the response time to Fast.

Sets the response time to Slow.

Does not use the response time improvement feature.
Provides seamless and natural images by synchronizing the vertical frequency of the

Game Adjust
You can control the black contrast to have better visibility in dark scenes.
Increasing the Black Stabilizer value brightens the low gray level area on the screen. (You
can easily distinguish objects on dark game screens.)
Reducing the Black Stabilizer value darkens the low gray level area and increases the dynamic contrast on the screen.
1ms Motion Blur

This mode minimizes motion blur in fast-moving videos. To take full advantage of this function, select 1920 x 1080 @ 144 Hz before enabling
1ms Motion Blur Reduction.
This function is available for the following vertical frequency. (60Hz,
100Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz)

Turns 1ms Motion Blur Reduction Mode off.
NOTE
yy To reduce motion blur, brightness is reduced with backlight control.
yy 1ms Motion Blur Reduction and FreeSync feature can not used at
the same time.

Cross Hair
Cross Hair provides a mark on the center of the screen for First Person Shooter(FPS) games.
Users can select the cross hair that fits their gaming environment among four different cross
hairs.
yy When the monitor is off or enters energy saving mode, the Cross Hair feature
is automatically turned off.

The higher the gamma value, the darker the image becomes. Likewise, the
lower the gamma value, the lighter the image becomes.

The user can adjust it to red, green, or blue by customization.
Warm
Sets the screen color to a reddish tone.
Medium
Sets the screen color between a red and blue tone.
Cool
Sets the screen color to a bluish tone.
You can customize the picture color using Red, Green, and Blue colors.
Green

Six Color
Picture Reset
Meets the user requirements for colors by adjusting the hue and saturation of the six colors
(Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow) and then saving the settings.
Hue
Adjusts the tone of the screen colors.
Saturation
Adjusts the saturation of the screen colors. The lower the value, the less
saturated and brighter the colors become. The higher the value, the more
saturated and darker the colors become.

Turns the power LED on the front of the monitor on or off.

The power LED turns on automatically.

Automatic Standby
Feature that automatically turns off the monitor when there is no movement on the screen for a period
of time. You can set a timer for the auto-off function. (Off, 4 H, 6 H, and 8 H)
HDMI Compatibility
Mode
HDMI Compatibility Mode feature can recognize the legacy equipment that does not support HDMI 2.0.

yy If the connected device does not support HDMI Compatibility Mode, the screen or sound may not

Enables or disables DisplayPort 1.2.

graphics card. Set this option to Disable if your graphics card does not support DisplayPort 1.2.

This feature disables the configuration and adjustment of menus.

Is the monitor's power cord plugged
in?
Check if the power cord is correctly plugged into the power outlet.

Is the power LED on?
Check the power cable connection and press the power button.

Check that the connected input is enabled (Menu > Quick Settings >

Input).
Is the power on and the power LED
displaying white?
Is the power LED blinking?
Is the OUT OF RANGE message

If the monitor is in sleep mode, move the mouse, or press any key on the

keyboard, to switch the display on.
Check if the computer is turned on.

This occurs when signals transferred from the PC (graphics card) are out

of the horizontal or vertical frequency range of the monitor. Please see
the Product Specification section of this manual to set the appropriate
frequency.
This is displayed when the signal cable between the PC and the monitor is

The setting methods may be different depending on the computer or operating system, and some resolutions
