Procedure
1. Shut off the engine and wait for all moving
parts to stop.
2. Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.
If you leave the wire on the spark plug,
someone could accidently start the
engine and injure you or bystanders.
Disconnect the wire from the spark plug
before you perform any maintenance.
Also, move the wire away so that it does
not accidentally contact the spark plug.
3. Clean the underside of the mower housing and
examine it for damage or excessive wear.
A corroded or cracked mower housing
may be further weakened by installing
the washout port, causing the mower
housing to crack and break, exposing
you or others to thrown objects and to
the running blade.

Procedure
1. Secure the washout port to a garden hose.
2. Insert the washout port (attached to the garden
hose) into the hole in mower housing where
you removed the large bolt and move the
washing port and garden hose to the preferred
location.
Note: The hose should not interfere with the
wheels, handles, or controls.
3. Use the washout port as a template to mark
the location of the two holes in the mower
housing for the fasteners.
4. Center punch and drill the two holes (9/32-inch
diameter) that you marked in step 3.
5. Install the washout port on the mower facing
outward, and secure it with the bolts and
locknuts provided in the kit (Figure 1).

• Install the washout port only on a
sound mower housing.
• Replace a worn, cracked, or damaged
mower housing immediately.
• Never put your hands or feet under or
through the openings in the mower
housing.
4. Remove the large bolt and nut from the mower
housing.

Washing the Underside of
the Mower
Wash the underside of the mower housing after
each use to prevent buildup of grass clippings for
improved mulching and clipping dispersal.
1. Park the mower on a hard level surface.
2. Disengage the power takeoff (PTO).
3. Turn the ignition key to the Off position to
stop the engine.
4. Secure a garden hose to the washout port on
the mower.
5. Turn the water on high.
6. Lower the mower to the lowest height-of-cut
position.
7. Start the engine (refer to the Operator’s Manual
for instructions) and engage the blade or
power takeoff (PTO and let the mower run for
1 to 3 minutes.
Note: The larger the mower, the longer you
may need to wash.
8. Disengage the blade and the power takeoff
(PTO).
9. Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts
to stop.
10. Shut off the water and remove the garden hose
from the washout port.
Note: If the mower is not clean after one
washing, soak and let it stand for 30 minutes,
then repeat the process again.
11. Run the mower again for 1 to 3 minutes to
remove excess water.

Procédure
1. Coupez le moteur et attendez l'arrêt complet
de toutes les pièces mobiles.
• Le raccord de lavage ne doit être
monté que sur un carter en bon état.
2. Débranchez la bougie.
• Remplacez immédiatement le carter
de la tondeuse s'il est usé, fissuré ou
endommagé.
Si vous laissez la bougie branchée,
quelqu'un pourrait mettre le moteur en
marche et vous blesser ou blesser des
personnes à proximité.
Débranchez la bougie avant de procéder
à tout entretien. Écartez aussi le fil pour
éviter tout contact accidentel avec la
bougie.
3. Nettoyez le dessous du carter de la tondeuse
et assurez-vous qu'il n'est pas endommagé ou
excessivement usé.
• Ne mettez jamais les mains ou les
pieds sous le carter de la tondeuse ni
dans ses ouvertures.
4. Retirez le grand boulon et l'écrou du carter de
la tondeuse.

Procédure
1. Fixez le raccord de lavage à un tuyau d'arrosage.
2. Insérez le raccord de lavage (fixé au tuyau
d'arrosage) dans le trou du carter de la tondeuse
occupé précédemment par le grand boulon et
déplacez le tuyau d'arrosage et le raccord de
lavage à l'emplacement préféré.
Remarque: Le tuyau ne doit pas gêner les
roues, les poignées ou les commandes.
3. Servez-vous du raccord de lavage comme
repère pour marquer l'emplacement des deux
trous de fixation dans le carter.

4. Marquez au pointeau et percez les deux trous

coupé pour arrêter le moteur.

4. Fixez le tuyau d'arrosage au raccord de lavage
de la tondeuse.
5. Ouvrez l'eau en grand.

6. Réglez la tondeuse à la hauteur de coupe la
plus basse.

7. Mettez le moteur en marche (voir le Manuel de
l'utilisateur pour la procédure de démarrage) et
engagez la lame ou la prise de force (PDF) et
laissez tourner le moteur 1 à 3 minutes.

Remarque: Plus la tondeuse est grande
plus le lavage prendra de temps.
8. Désengagez la lame et la prise de force (PTO).
9. Arrêtez le moteur et attendez l'arrêt de toutes
les pièces mobiles.
10. Coupez l'eau et débranchez le tuyau d'arrosage
du raccord de lavage.
Remarque: Si la tondeuse est encore
sale après un premier lavage, mouillez-la de
nouveau et patientez 30 minutes avant de
répéter la procédure de lavage.
11. Remettez la tondeuse en marche durant 1 à
3 minutes pour évacuer l'excès d'eau.
