SIDE SEAMS

Using a row finder, find and separate a row of yarn which runs thru the middle of a diamond.

Using a cushion back cutter cut along the separated row of yarn.

Duplicate the above two steps on other piece of carpet.

Its best to match pattern from center of seam, then adjust it towards each edge.

If satisfied with pattern match and seam fit, apply seam sealer to both cut edges.

Use a premium seaming tape to seam edges together, move seaming iron in of pile direction, set thermostat at 3 to 3 1/2 on iron.

Follow seaming with a seam roller rolling it up and down the seam, then use a seam weight no heavier than 10 lbs, to hold the seam flat while it cools down.

Allow seam to completely cool off before stretching.

CROSS SEAMS

Use a row finder to find and separate a row across the width that falls in the center of a diamond then use a cushion back , cut along the separated row, do this on both pieces of carpet, on piece with pile lay towards seam hold cutter on a slight angle to undercut the face fibers, other piece cut straight up and down.

Pull both pieces together ,and shift to bring on pattern match if satisfied with match and seam fit, seam seal both cut edges and allow to dry.
