How to Apply Aluminum Roof Coatings
STEP 1: PREPARE THE SURFACE
1. Clear roof surface of loose debris including dirt, gravel, sticks, etc. using a push broom or blower
2. Clean surfaces with brooms or blowers, and pressure wash to remove dirt, dust, and loose material.
3. Inspect the surface for cracks, blisters, and other problem areas.
4. Patch and repair using Black Jack or Leak Stopper roof cements and reinforcing fabrics. See label directions for application, and allow proper cure time before topcoating.

• Metal
• Modified Bitumen
• Rolled roofing
• Built-up Roof (BUR)
• Existing Aluminum Coating
Recommended Applicators
• Roof brush
• ¾ inch nap roller
STEP 2: APPLY BLACK JACK ALUMINUM COATING
• Apply at 60°F and rising, not exceeding 100°F.
• All products except Leak Stopper black roof patch and All-Weather Roof Cement should be applied on a clear sunny day with no rain for at least 24 hours.
Coverage Rates: Two coats recommended
Approximately 50 square feet / gallon (most surfaces);
75 square feet / gallon over metal roofing
